It was good value for money. It's more for backpackers than a guest house. Owner was very helpful. Small children could run around and play.

I was somewhat disappointed with my stay. 1. There is coffee and Cremora, but no fresh milk. Only coffee is provided and no tea. What about non-coffee drinkers? 2. I did not see any emergency light that guests should use during load shedding. 3. The room I stayed in has a door that leads to other rooms/rest of the house. There were people in there who were loud and slammed doors until late at night. It was really disturbing. 4. Although my room was clean and tidy, the whole created the appearance of uncleanliness/negligence. A little more attention would make a big difference.
The general impression was of poor maintenance.
The cottage was not completely clean, the shower was cracked and not sturdy.

We drove very far in pouring rain. We let them know we were going to be late and they were so hospitable and waited for us. Definitely good service.

This is the second time I've stayed here, very simple, but clean and neat. Would stay here again and recommend it.
The accommodation is very nicely situated. I shared accommodation on Monday night with 4 very nice friends in the dorm, we respected each other. Tuesday night 3 other guests joined us, they were noisy, they left the place where the TV stand like a pigsty. People do not care to share a bathroom, but the underpants after being washed, was hanged on the shower rail and towel rail, for the whole day? The WiFi was a bonus and was appreciated.

We arrived after dark, were tired and had to listen to a joke on arrival which unfortunately did not fall on the right ears. The room, although small, is sufficient for one night, shower and bathroom very small, but serves the purpose. The room is located next to the backpackers and we were bothered throughout the night by the commotion, doors opening and closing and unusual noise. The air conditioner makes so much noise that we had to turn it off after five minutes. Would not stay there again, although it could be a good "budget" option.
I think the whole house needs a serious upgrade because it was very hot. Communal kitchen is not a good idea. Let them use air-conditioner instead of fans.
Elephant Walk Guesthouse had no idea that we had a booking. We had to pay an extra R375 for the room as they had new owners.

There is access to a communal kitchen to make your own food and a braai area was available. I would recommend going for the guest room option instead if you are passing through.

This was our second stay at Elephant Walk and as before we were warmly received. The owner accommodated us very well when we requested extra accommodation for two additional persons at the last minute. The accommodation itself is neat and does not lack the basic necessities at all. The rooms are basic but clean and meet 100% the need to lay down after a long day. Parking for vehicles is lighted and safe and the gate to the site is locked at night. The amount asked per person per night is affordable and as long as it stays in that range we will always make our reservations here again.
The accommodation is neat but very old and outdated. The owner is friendly. All right for a stopover but I wouldn't stay for more than a night.

The mattress needs to be replaced. It's not suitable. No warning warning you up the stairs from bedroom to bathroom facilities. Two steep steps - my wife was lucky she kept her balance or she would have fallen badly. Air conditioning not working properly.

It was a sweltering hot weekend that we stayed there. The facilities were very good compared to the price paid. Really good value for money! James - the owner - was an excellent host and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The air conditioning worked great to keep the rooms cool in the heat!
Although their website states "a quiet rest before visiting the Kruger Park", we got very little sleep on the Friday and Saturday night of our 3 day stay due to the fact that the establishment is right opposite a night club that carried on until 03h00 every night. The owner's response: "We battle to enforce by-laws because SA does not have by-laws anymore". Although their website states "Dinner by arrangement" we were directed to a nearby restaurant for dinner. The swimming pool (being a "private pool") was only made available to guests until 18h00 in the evening, in a part of the country where temperatures remain into the mid 30's well into the night. Overall a very disappointing stay.
The place is not very clean. We didn't even want to use the bathroom. The air conditioning is installed behind the curtain. The pool is dirty. The TV doesn't work. The one room fan and light work on just one switch. So you sleep either in the heat or in the light.
The photos on the website are deceptive. And the service was power. For what I paid and the quality I got, there are no words. Ex very unlucky. Would not recommend the place to anyone.

White walls, white bedding and clean towels every day. In addition, there were two full length mirrors in the bedroom and 2 large mirrors in the bathroom, and the icing on the cake was a power plug near a mirror! The owner is a very helpful and friendly man who is focused on the comfort and convenience of his guests.

My wife and I were on our way to the Kruger National Park and decided to stop-over in Phalaborwa to ensure we hit the gate at 6am. Lovely stop-over, locals are friendly and helpful. The local bushveld pub is a must, laid back atmosphere. Elephant walk is a guesthouse close to the Phalaborwa Gate and we would recommend it to any couples and or families.

The room was very nice and clean, the service was good, and the area was very good. We only stayed the night, and it was the perfect pocket-sized place to stay. We would be able to suggest it to anyone who wants to go for a night or even 2.

We were received very friendly and promptly. The living area was tidy with literally just what you need. The bathroom was comfortable and clean and the linen spotless. The space inside the dining area and the quality of the teaspoons were a bit disappointing, but our overall experience was positive. The area is superbly located, so close to the Kruger National Park's gate! The TV reception was poor. The garden was creative and neat.
We had a good stay with only one inconvenience - we were 8 people staying in the 10 bed dorm and the aircon wasn't working - although there was a fan in the room it was too hot to sleep. We only stayed there the one night before we entered the Kruger National Park, and enjoyed the other facilities.
I would use it again, but only for one night. The lack of air conditioning will force me to move.

This was not at all what we had in mind. It was basically just one room with the beds in it. There was no kitchen. The shower was out of order. When you try to take a shower, the whole bathroom is under water. The place is not recommended for people with children.
Everything was nice, but there was clearly a dog or other pet in the room before we got in there. My wife, who is allergic, completely shut down and could hardly sleep.
We had a problem with mosquitoes. The coffee and sugar were rock hard and unusable.
