Perfect accommodation outside the Kruger National Park. Literally a stone's throw away from Crocodile Bridge gate and camp. Wonderful view of the Crocodile River with various animals that come to show their eyes.
We had a great stay and enjoyed the view over the river. The rooms were clean and well-serviced every day. The aircon was a godsend.
We had a great time in a clean and tidy house. The hot water is just not quite so hot that the bulkheads can be washed clean.
Unit 6 is clean and tidy, good location, but inconvenient for a longer stay due to the layout. We were there for 4 nights. Comfortable porch and braai area. However, the stand-alone outdoor kitchen has been neglected. No hot water for sink, no gas for stove and poor outdoor lighting and it creates an impression of decay.
Dirty and needs repairing.
Would highly recommend to those who cannot get accommodation within the Kruger National Park to stay here.

Positive: Great location! Although we didn't see any Big 5 there. I love log houses. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were very decent. I liked the double sinks in the bathroom. Our beds were very comfortable. Negative: The building sways slightly even if only one person gets up and goes to the toilet at night. We were 2 pairs of girlfriends and we thought there were 2 rooms with 2 decent sized beds in them. There were 2 rooms but one room had a bunk bed that fit so tightly in the room that you felt uncomfortable letting 2 people sleep there. About 3 of us then had to share the large room with the bathroom facilities in it. The shower looks like there is mold in the corners. There was a spider and a fish moth in my bed.
The two basic units (no 6 and 7) need urgent attention. Termites have damaged the wood inside, light sockets are broken, a wall plug doesn't work at all. The toilet seat was really to get the cheapest imaginable, and is not properly cleaned at its bottom. With the termites, I don't know what the future of the log cabins will be. And units 1 and 2 are the best, with TV and all, if you are willing to pay R3100pd. Location almost opposite Crocodile Bridge Gate is very good. But if I choose, I choose the neighbor's place. At about the same price, much better maintained, with dinner, bed and breakfast (and campfire).
The lodge is conveniently situated adjacent the Crocodile Bridge entrance to the Kruger Park, that makes a big difference. the view over the river into the park are also a bonus. The accommodation was neat and tidy, the ambience leads to feeling park of the bushveld with the wooden and thatched structure. The kitchenette is situated on the veranda portion of the accommodation. The only negative we experienced was the crack in the shower floor and the cleanliness of the shower floor. That can become a health hazard. Antonie welcomed us and explained the "in's and out" of the venue. All in all we had a good time there, it's very tranquil and conducive to our goal.
Swimming pool - green water. Shower - very dirty. Tiles, as well as shower floor full of mould. Floors - dirty where the eye can't see.

The communication from staff in the months leading up to our trip was a precursor to the excellent service we received upon arrival. No question was too big or small to receive serious consideration. The cleaners help went out of their way to freshen and clean up. More than I expected from a self-catering rental.

The place has everything you need in a self-catering unit. Everything is neat and spacious. The location is perfect for those who can't stay in the Kruger Park, but still want to go for an early day trip. All the rooms have air-cons, which is a huge plus! We were extremely satisfied with the place.

Their rates increased by 20% over the last year! Maintenance not up to standard - the door lock broken, wooden screen for bathroom eaten by termites, outside light not working. Only one chair in the chalet.

We stayed in the Budget Accommodation Bungalow. The room was clean and spacious. The air-conditioner worked well in the heatwave conditions! Monkeys are a big problem, but we were warned when we checked in that they would be. Staff were all friendly. The kitchen facilities could do with an upgrade but are adequate. Fridge and kettle with coffee and tea are in the room. Pool is stunning set away from the accommodation where families can relax and make noise. We had inconsiderate neighbours who played their music too loud but they were quieted down by the staff. All in all a relaxing and mostly peaceful two nights. Went into Komatipoort for dinner and got back onto the property with no problems. Would definitely go there again.

Air conditioner in main room was not working and it was very hot. We reported that there was no check for air conditioner. We also reported to staff that air conditioner was not working. no one came to investigate once on the weekend or come to make sure that everything was in order. Kitchen was not clean at all. Rooms were clean, but the smell of sewage was noticeable. The lady on duty moved us to another unit with an air conditioner on Sunday night. Thanks for that. Beautiful view and nice and quiet. The resort itself is not maintained in terms of garden and cleanliness.

We really enjoyed it and were able to relax before our day in the Kruger. Such a peaceful atmosphere and the kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Beds were comfortable and sheets clean. Really nice bathrooms and the separate toilet was a bonus.
If you are looking for a destination as close to the Kruger National Park, you will be hard pressed to find one better located than Elephant Walk Retreat at the Crocodile Bridge entrance to the park. Our unit was quite tidy and comfortable and you can sit on the veranda and look out over the Kruger National Park just across the river. It is a self-catering unit, but not equipped with its own kitchen. There is an outdoor kitchen that we had to share with the adjoining unit. The kitchen was basically equipped, but was quite adequate. My only criticism was the braai facilities at our chalet. The braai at our unit was poorly designed and in terrible condition. I had to get my tool kit out of my vehicle to use pliers and a screwdriver to force open the grate over half the drum, and could only fire in one corner because the bottom was rusted through. The height is not adjustable and in the deep drum it took forever to fry my piece of sausage. No, we South Africans are barbecue people. The virtually useless braai is truly inexcusable.
We were unable to get accommodation in Kruger so booked at Elephant Walk. It was our first stay here and it was really enjoyable. The log cabin was extremely comfortable with beautiful views over the river. It was great to watch the sunrises and sunsets over Kruger from the verandah. The access into Kruger daily was so easy. Elephant Walk is literally a 1 minute drive from Crocodile Bridge Gate.
We had a great time. Was just outside the gate of the Wildlife Park which was ideal for us. I would only suggest that the barbecues get a little attention as the bottoms are already a bit burnt. Other than that it was simply stunning!

Will definitely stay here again. Location is ideal, the air conditioning in the house was wonderfully cool in the summer heat and the swimming pool is an absolute plus and sparkling blue and neat. The view from the front porch is also fantastic. We had elephants right here on your doorstep almost every day. Would definitely recommend the place. Because it is located so close to the Crocodile Gate, one can quickly drive to the wildlife park during the day, come back to cool off and then go back into the wildlife park an hour or so later for a "sunset trip".

Elephant Walk Retreat probably has the best location bordering the KNP. The elephants grazed against the fence every day and other animals were also visible across the Crocodile River, e.g. giraffes. The units are very clean and tidy. It is highly recommended!

We were a group of eleven and we only slept for one night. We woke up early in the morning and went for game drive. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and the units are so nice and clean; and let's not forget about the incredible swimming pool.

Elephant walk retreat is situated in a beautiful and tranquil location 5m outside the Crocodile Bridge Gate. I would recommend this stay if majority of your time is spent in the park. The kitchen is situated outdoors which makes it impossible to prepare dinner at night without insects flying in your food. However it is the wild. The rooms are small and there is no privacy in terms of bathroom facilities. I saw plenty of animals from the leisurely position of the cabin. Good stay.
It is absolutely wonderful to spend the night here. The elephants walk right in front of your house and the night silence is wonderful. Can really recommend it.

I stayed in the more basic of the units which shared a bush kitchen with another unit. Although there were utensils provided I did buy my own as the kitchen was not in the best of states. The accommodation was more than adequate and being able to see game right on your front doorstep was definitely a treat. I did make my booking at the last minute and was advised by the hosts that the accommodation and kitchen were basic. Mike and Stephanie were also very accommodating hosts who were more than willing to go the extra mile. My kids had an amazing time! We got the opportunity to speak to some guests staying in the luxury units and they raved about the facilities in those cabins. I will definitely make a plan to go back in the near future.
