31 guests' feedbackElly is a wonderful hostess. Her house is warm, comfortable and very clean and tidy. We had all the amenities we needed, with delicious biscuits and breakfast to go with it. The visit in the sun on the stoep in the afternoon was a pleasure. Elly's house is within walking distance of the town and it was dead quiet at night - we slept well.
Very homey cozy place. Elly is a good hostess. Will definitely check in there again when I'm back in Darling.

Slept well, made a nice fire, but the breakfast that was included with the reservation was not worth it at all. Hard boiled eggs and muesli, with no plates.
Our room with twin beds wasn't very private as it overlooked a busy passageway. The shower in the bath couldn't be used by someone with impaired mobility.
Two lovely hosts. Very nice atmosphere.

Will recommend it to other people. Darling is a "once-in-a-lifetime" must and Elly's Place fits in with the whole "experience". Great.

We were kindly received by Elly and Lulu, the Jack Russell. We went home in the garden cottage. It was impeccably clean and we enjoyed complete privacy with a separate gate for guests.(It felt like we were in the wild). The garden is a loop court, I enjoyed my early morning coffee on the wooden deck with the large variety of bird species that started the day with me. The breakfast was a delicious fresh continental and hot breakfast, generous portions and delicious coffee. Elly will see us again when the "Darling Slow Beer Festival" is presented.

Elly, our friendly hostess received us generously. Our room was comfortable with everything needed for our stay the two days. The two dogs Lulu and Jasper also came to say hello. Breakfast was big and really tasty. We recommend the place if anyone wants to visit Darling.

I was very satisfied with everything. I was worried about the safety of my car, but it turned out to be an unnecessary concern. There are braai facilities etc. I will stay there again. Maybe city slickers will like TV in the room. But it didn't bother me.

Elly was an excellent host and couldn't be more helpful and accommodating if she tried. She cooked us an excellent dinner, making us feel most welcome. I would highly recommend Elly's Place!
I just want to share my disappointment with you. I paid R730.00 and it was extremely poor. The path to the zozo hut is full of rotten oranges. The door cannot lock, only a latch. Our car had to sleep in the street. There is no TV, no radio, the bathroom has no curtain. The braai is rusted and full of cigarette butts. They say it's a garden cottage. Everything but, it's a zozo hut 3.5x5 m with no insolation. It was clean but that's it. Breakfast was reasonable. The lady was friendly. I feel it was one hundred percent false advertisement.
The owner herself is very friendly and hospitable. Everything was lovely and clean / spacious. Oh yes, you can recommend the place. (She, Elly, was lovely.)
Thank you very much for a fantastic time, sorry it was so short, hope to stay longer next time. The dinner with the other Darling residents was the highlight!

Didn't feel private at all, was very upset by the hostess's Mother. Will never stay there again, definitely not value for money, paid way too much for the stay and we feel badly ripped off.
Interesting stay and very interesting and inspiring hostess of Dutch origin. Self-catering facilities as well as privacy for guests can improve.
No TV and little privacy. Pretty much except for the latter.
