Eloff Guesthouse and Gallery

High in the hills of the Lowveld, where the crushing warmth gives way to salubrious, soul-expanding air, sits the Guesthouse, a little B&B so aboriginal in form and reflects its primeval terrain. It is the creation of modern native and painter and ceramist René Eloff. With strong artistic influences from her late husband, the renowned Lowveld artist Zakkie Eloff, this guesthouse is alive in color, vibrancy and true African spirit.
Style-wise, the Eloff homestead is a farmhouse - solidly and inexpensively built, with rough plaster walls and a welcoming abundance of timber. Wooden French doors open out onto views that are pure bushveld, and the couple's artworks - like Zakkie's Letaba elephants - remind visitors of their proximity to the wild.
The Guesthouse is the ideal weekend retreat if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Alternatively, if you are on-route between the Kruger Park or Mozambique, this is an ideal stopover to catch your breath and take in some spectacular shopping and quaint restaurants scattered in and around the area.

19 guests' feedbackGreat service and kind and helpful owners.
The beds are super comfy, pillows and linen amazing. Clean towels in great condition. So rustic yet upmarket and comfortable. Amazing views.
Phillip, our host went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. His breakfast was top notch - fresh fruit salad, yogurt/muesli, egg and bacon, filter coffee - neatly presented and served. The accommodation offers the most beautiful view. The cottage we stayed in is spacious and has the most beautiful mosaics in the bathrooms, but needs a little TLC. Roof paint will make a big difference.
Beautiful guesthouse, awesome surroundings and an exceptional host. Breakfasts were memorable and the food 10/10.
The accommodation is clean and tidy and the host is friendly and helpful. I will definitely visit again and can recommend it.
We really appreciated the hospitality. The breakfast meals were very tasty and very nicely presented.
Really beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by art, awesome garden and hospitable people! Eloff family has an amazing background and every corner of the guest house is full of history! Highly recommend to visit this spot if you are passing the White River region!
Phillip is an excellent host. Friendly reception, neat room where you can rest, with everything you need to make something to eat. The breakfasts Phillip serves are five-star and enough to keep you going all day!
Great people and amazing breakfast! There were no keys provided to be able to lock the room from the outside, doors only lock from the inside. Because the shower is open plan, a lot of the water spills outside the shower.
Comfortable room with bathroom and kitchenette, with all the necessary amenities. Wonderful view and quiet environment. Large variety of birds that come to visit and eat on the stoep. Delicious breakfast that is more like a brunch. Friendly reception and excellent service from owner, Phillip. Beautiful paintings by Zakkie and Rene Eloff everywhere - really a piece of paradise!
For city jays, security is a big deal, but at Pumelani it's a different world where locks don't matter. A pleasant experience overall and the hospitality makes up for the other shortcomings. The basic lifestyle and being close to nature makes you realize luxury doesn't always matter to have a good experience.
In the heart of nature! So nice and peaceful.
We just want to say a big thank you to Phillip for the incredible hospitality. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome.
Phillip is pleasant. It is quiet and well appointed. Very cute place.
Enjoyed the stay very much, with delicious breakfast!
Pumelani was blissfully peaceful and hospitality reigned supreme with Phillip and his kind Mother. Interesting finish of the accommodation fascinated us.
See the stars.
The reception and friendliness was very good, but the accommodation is not up to standard. It could be renovated, otherwise it was very nice.
