The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with an electric oven and gas hob, a fridge and deep freezer, a toaster, microwave, kettle, and plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There is also a separate scullery for washing up.
The warm north-facing lounge has large windows and a flat-screen TV with all DStv channels. The lounge opens through sliding doors to a bricked patio with braai facilities, garden furniture, and a peaceful, spacious fully fenced garden. Guests are welcome to bring their pets on holiday with them, as the house is pet-friendly.
There is off-road undercover parking in front of the house for 3 cars. Additional vehicles can park on the grass verge, off the road, adjacent to the house.

The accommodation was in a great location, and it was a comfortable stay.
Family of 6 stayed over a weekend, everything was just as the photos on the website. The accommodation was perfect for us and very spacious. Very neat and tidy and had everything we required. We were travelling with 2 dogs and the garden was perfect and very secure for them. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had a very pleasant stay, including finding my elderly mother's jewellery that she left behind! Would definitely recommend the accommodation when staying in Clarens.

Thank you for the wonderful hospitality shown to us as the Crusaders all the way from Cape Town. We had an absolutely wonderful time and any small problem we had you sorted within minutes. The place has such a homely feeling and everything was just superb. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone and will be back if we are ever in Clarens again. We had a great time at Elsewhere. Nico was very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the braai area and the dog children were very happy. We would definitely stay at Elsewhere again.
Our stay at Elsewhere was so cosy and comfortable. Home away from home. It can get quite crowded with 5 adults and 2 busy toddlers but Elsewhere has ample comfortable space inside and the garden provided plenty of play space. The fireplace was a big bonus and heated up the living room because it was very cold. This cosy area became the centre of our activities in the evening. Elsewhere is situated in a safe, quiet area close to the CBD and other amenities. There is ample safe parking space. Elsewhere is exactly what you see on the website. I highly recommend Elsewhere as a sleepover in Clarens.
Everything was fantastic. Delicious fireplace dust that warms the house. Just one suggestion, double mattress in front room has reached the end of its life.
The house has ample space for the 8 adults in our family group. Nico, the host was very friendly and hospitable. The kitchen was very well equipped. Unfortunately, the shower in the 4-bed bedroom didn't work too well. Two of the bathrooms have showers and both shower heads need upgrading. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the hot water in all the bathrooms and kitchen - it wasn't available all day long which was a problem when some of the group showered. Nico was aware of the problem and said that he was going to try and sort the problem out. The cupboard where the kitchen sink/basin area is has a lot of water damage and needs upgrading. According to one of my elderly cousins, the double bed in the back room isn't very comfortable as there were springs in the mattress which kept on digging into them. The house has a fully fenced garden and the flowers were in bloom which made the garden so pretty. The Wi-Fi worked really well. The fireplace in the lounge was a blessing on the cold autumn evenings.
Elsewhere is suitable for a large group of people or a household with pets. There was load shedding upon our arrival and during our stay Nico made it very comfortable for us, he was really very helpful. We will definitely visit again. Very spacious and clean accommodation. Very satisfied.
It was a Pienaar reunion weekend and Elsewhere was used as the day's base. Here we just had a good time and barbecued. Elsewhere met all our expectations. Even the rest of the Pienaars who spent the night in other places loved Elswhere.
It is a lovely big house with lots of space and comes fully equipped. Once again we had a great stay and it is also animal friendly! Large house with lots of sleeping space. Nice for a bunch of family gatherings.

The house is beautiful with a beautiful garden but there are no available cupboards for one to unpack luggage. The couches smell like cat/dog pee.
Big house, we were 11 people. Didn't step on each other's toes at all. Only the water pressure was bad but it was a problem everywhere in Clarens. Nico, the owner, very helpful and friendly.

Very neat house. 4 large rooms. The yard is very nice for the dogs with a nice big yard to sniff around. The street is quiet with no noise. Perfect place for large families with small children and dogs. Very friendly service from the owner. Will definitely stay here again.
Very nice and nice place to stay. The house is such that even if you are 8 to 10 people, will not be in each other's way. The kitchen has more than enough of everything and is very well equipped. From a steamer to biscuit pans. I can confidently recommend anyone to stay there, feel like you are at your own home. And Nico is very hospitable.

We were a family group and were very happy to find room to all stay together in one house. It was good value for money, enough space for everyone and we could bring our two dogs (the yard is well fenced). Fully equipped kitchen. Very good communication from owner. No view of mountains from here, but close enough to town, hiking trails and other activities.

We only stayed two nights, three generations, young ones ranging from 6 months to 4 years. They could play safely on the lawn without danger of getting out in the street. Rooms and amenities are spacious and everything works. Anyone who wants to explore the Eastern Free State will easily be able to reach everything from here and be back the same day. We stayed lovely and will go again anytime!

Elsewhere is a lovely family home. The whole reason I only give 4 for cleanliness is because there could have been another mat at the front door that could have prevented us from stepping on the house so dirty with the very rainy weather. We stayed in "Elsewhere" with 2 families (4 adults and 4 young children). The house offers ample of space, sleeping space and bathrooms (though only 2 showers), as well as a lovely garden. It is fitted out quite well, but the furniture and furnishing feels rather old and outdated. The kitchen, too, would benefit from more/ better cooking equipment, cutlery, etc. Handover of the keys was easily arranged. Overall, a nice place, with the potential to make it much nicer.
The place was large and we had enough space. Our group consisted of 8 people and we all enjoyed it. I will recommend Elsewhere to any sized family.
