The little house comprises 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 5 guests at a time. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has a three-quarter bed and a bunk bed. There is bedding, blankets and towels in the bedrooms. The bathroom has a gas-heated shower, toilet and basin.
The kitchen is equipped with a 2-plate gas stove, gas fridge-freezer, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery. Coffee, tea, sugar and milk are provided.
There is an enclosed braai room with seating and a counter where guests can enjoy preparing a meal together. There is also an outdoor braai where guests can experience the beautiful Karoo night sky.
Guests are afforded covered parking next to the house.
The house makes use of gas a solar power making it an eco-friendly choice for a weekend breakaway.
Guests can take a walk around the farm or bring along mountain bikes to explore the area. There are resident farm animals guests can enjoy.
There is wood for sale if needed.
There is a 6 km gravel road leading to the establishment and it can be driven by cars and trucks.

With a 360° view of the Karoo landscape, a well-equipped unit, neat and spotless facilities and an incredible hostess, you couldn't ask for better!

Lovely getaway cottage for a weekend. Ellen is a very good hostess and made sure everything was in order. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area.
The cottage is basic, but well equipped with everything you need. You don't come here for luxury, but for the incredible silence and tranquility that surrounds you. Dirt road from the N1 is tame enough for small cars. Ellen is an excellent hostess and always available when you need something.
We enjoyed excellent service from both the website and the owner of Elto Karoo Stay Guest Farm. I was contacted immediately after booking and kept up to date. The reception at the guest house was very good and you have good WiFi access. Everything was neat and the instructions were clear. The layout of the guest house is practical and attractive with an indoor barbecue/lounge area that is relaxing. In short, it's a typical breathtaking Karoo environment that is good for the soul and the mind. At most too much.

I was very impressed with the place. Although it is very close to the N1 there was no noise from vehicles. The accommodation is a farm cottage with a comfortable and sheltered braai and social area. Kitchen fully equipped. Would like to stay a little longer next time.

Very clean and well equipped.
Very peaceful and lovely Karoo scenery. Recently had about 20 mm of rain on the farm, so it looked nice and green. Very cold night but we had plenty of wood for the fire to keep warm!
This was an ideal stop-over. I had to isolate the water supply to clean the ball vale of toilet cistern to get it to flow and fill the cistern. Please fit a filter on the water supply to fine out the sand korreltjies that build up and block the toilet flush valve. Our hostess was great. Thank you. The cabin windows could have been position in fat better places to get more light and more airflow. If you intend to build more accommodation units, please consider this. I would visit again.
Great to be out in nature, under the stars at night and not much light pollution.
Stayed after the Buffalo River 7 day walk to rest before driving back home.
Eltos farm stay is a beautiful Karoo house with everything you need for a break to breathe Karoo air, look at the stars, see the sun rise over the mountain and the open spaces to enjoy you. Ellen and Tobie are very helpful and hospitable. Just suggest that it is mentioned that it is dirt road of about 3.6 kilometers from the National road to the cottage.
The people's hospitality knows no bounds!
Peaceful surroundings and a comfortable cottage. Good that it was off-the-grid as well.
