It was the best, my husband and I didn't have a honeymoon (married from 2020) and we really enjoyed it.

The service was excellent, the place quiet, clean and tidy. A great getaway for a long weekend away from the city. We will definitely go to the same place again.

Very friendly host. Quiet surrounding in beautiful Tulbagh. It is a historic house, not a fancy place but all worked well.
We had a very nice stay. Nick, who welcomed us on site, was very hospitable and was very kind to welcome us even though we arrived a little later in the evening. Room was nice and spacious and perfectly located for a stay in Tulbagh.

We were very warmly received by our host Nic, he suggested some good places to eat and places of interest which we of course followed. Epistay is in the famous street of all the historic buildings and the places to eat are simply delicious within walking distance.

EpiStay is on Church Street, within walking distance of the museum and other attractions. Our visit was during the hottest weekend of the summer (I'm sure it was), and the small pool was just the thing to cool off in. The room is spacious and comfortable and we were kindly received. I would stay there again anytime.
Not really a self-catering unit. No counter space, however there is a lovely restaurant right next door.
Great stay in Epicstay. Quiet, central location. Host very helpful although we were unfortunate when it was load shedding and we were not given any notice of times and also no candles or emergency lights in the room. Other than that it was lovely.
However, the shower is a problem. The shower has no glass around it and so the entire bathroom floor is soaking wet when you shower.
Unfortunately, the place was not clean.

The rooms were neat and the surroundings incredibly beautiful. Could have paid a little more attention to detail, like a clean set of cups, maybe a plate or two and we wanted a trash can in our room, but otherwise everything was there and convenient.

The room is clearly a well-maintained, old room with an attached bathroom. Hot water is readily available at the shower and sink. Unfortunately, the fan in the bathroom does not work, and because there are no windows in the room, it gets a lot of steam.
Will visit again anytime.
Nick was great as a host, he made us feel welcome, he accommodated us when we arrived later than planned. He also assisted us with some good tips to explore the area.

This was my second visit to Epistay. Nick is a wonderful host and always welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. It will be my go to place when my clients are unable to book me in at my regular venue.

Very nice stay. Our unit was beautiful and clean. I would only suggest placing a trash can in the kitchen area. Had to throw everything in a very small trash can in the bathroom.

Just a pity we showered in cold water.
Could do with an air conditioner in the room - it's a shame parking is across the street. Apparently there is a wait on duty, but because it is the 25th Dec. was, there was no waiting to be seen. Beautiful place - very peaceful.
Nick is a wonderful host with a wonderful sense of humour! He made us feel so welcome. Our room was very comfortable as was the bed. The garden is beautiful - could have sat there for hours. Thank you Nick, we will be back!

Epistay upgraded us to a larger unit because the room was still available. They went out of their way and made retsaurant bookings for us where we got 10% off. They dropped us off and picked us up at the restaurants.
A beautiful setting in the historical area. Mishack looked after us very well. We were impressed with the comfortable bed, and also with the fact that the little restaurant makes excellent cappuccinos!

EpiStay is in the heart of Tulbagh on beautiful Church Street. There are cute restaurants and monuments within walking distance and we were treated to a bull rugby tournament on Saturday morning. The rooms are neat and exactly what we needed. Mishack is great and very helpful. We had breakfast there on Sunday morning and it was quite expensive, but the food was very tasty.
We are very warmly welcomed, true Cape hospitality.

We were bumped up to a larger room because no one else had booked it. It was super with all the home comforts. TV with DSTV, two heaters. Michack was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately a water pipe had burst down the road so no water in room until pipe fixed. (Not Epi Stay problem). We were offered drinking water.
EpiStay was definitely more than I expected!
Google says that Epistay is next to Readers, but it is actually Readers. (The advertisement board is at Readers).
We really enjoyed our stay at EpiStay. The service was friendly and the room neat. Unfortunately I was under the impression that it would be a self-catering unit with facilities to prepare your own food, which wasn't the case.

Satisfied with service and accommodation. Buildings just need some attention on the outside. First glance does not give a good impression, but inside clean and tidy.
The most important thing is to feel safe, they tried to break in twice during the night, the second time the burglar was already halfway through the window. Owner was there within a few minutes after I called him, he locked the gate inside. I think this should have been locked already. I also wasn't happy about the fact that I had to leave my car in the street, to many people around this time of the year, maybe it would have been ok at a different time.
Room is very warm, ventilation can improve. Not everyone prefers sleeping with the air-con on. Otherwise it was very good, furnished tastefully. Would like to stay there again.
It was the relaxation we were looking for! A real treat. I wish we could've stayed longer! Nic's hospitality and friendliness was 5-star quality. He spoiled us by upgrading us to the Seismic room which was lovely and we had delicious coffee on our own patio the next morning. Definitely a jewel in Church Street,

My husband and I needed a place to stay after a wedding in Tulbagh. EpiStay offered us that and more. A spacious room and bathroom with a big bed and air-con served for a good night's rest. The front of the place is not as stylish as the rooms, don't let that put you off. Service and rooms are still above average. Thank you very much.

My friend and I stayed for 3 nights with a puppy, baby and toddler, which we knew would be a challenge. We had such a lovely time. It's within walking distance from pretty much the entire town, which was great. The staff were lovely too. The only thing I would change would be to install a sink for the dishes, but that's just me. Other than that, everything was amazing!

The directions are unclear. Parking is far from the units. There is no reception area. I had to inquire at the only open door. This is the stoep room which is operated as a bicycle shop. A cluttered desk on one side with a dirty broken couch serves as the office. A young man went to call the owner (?) who came out of the darkness of the house with another young black man. The latter went to show me the room. On the way to the room there is not one chair or table outside that is clean or even whole. A steel gate with a lock that I have to lock behind me, dog droppings on the path to my room and dead plants on the porch made me feel anything but welcome. It was 39 degrees Celsius in Tulbagh and the room has no cross-ventilation, let alone air conditioning. The standing fan was noisy and not able to cool the room at all. The bathroom was not cleaned properly and there were ants everywhere. (Every time you get off the bed, you "disturb" the ants and they climb on you!) There is nowhere to sit, except on the bed. It was truly one of the most unpleasant experiences in a very long time. The reviews make me wonder about its authenticity.
We loved the enormous room we were given. It was artistically decorated and gave us the kind of accommodation experience we wanted in Tulbagh.
The friendly owner upgraded us to a bigger room without any hassle. Premises are neat and our stay was great, thank you very much! We will always recommend EpiStay.

EpiStay is in the heart of historic Tulbagh, perfectly located for a stroll down Church Street and easy access to restaurants. The unit was comfortable, the bed superb and the host charming and helpful. We certainly hope to return.
The accommodation was lovely, and clean and spacious and beautiful, and the beds sleep WONDERFULLY! The Host is awesome, and his staff very cute! The High School is across the road, and we were able to watch 2 cricket matches to make up for our absence from the world cup! Awesome stay that I can recommend anytime with an open mind!

Everything was just right, from the reception to the special arrangements with food and cooling. Good recommendation close to wineries.
Nic is very nice and friendly and you get free coffee and one free breakfast. The room was very small, no shower curtain and no storage space for clothes. It was not value for money.

Had a friendly reception, but unfortunately we had to hear that the owner is out of town and also on holiday. We were not informed that load shedding would be at 08:00 with the result that we left with wet hair and no breakfast. Turns out it wasn't load shedding, there was a short circuit. We were already packed to continue touring. Down the street we did get breakfast. The owner there informed us that the unit in question in Epistay shares power with an adjacent address and that it is a common problem that the power in the room in question 'trips'. It was not a nice experience.
Good experience, was able to check in at 12.30. Had to take a shower right away to attend a wedding, but the water wasn't quite warm yet.
Room was neat, clean and tastefully furnished.
Went home in the upper living unit, full of beautiful artwork and with a nice relaxation area in front of the unit where we could sit and drink wine.
