The house isn't on a busy road yet close to Spar as well as the viewpoints along the river. Animals visiting throughout the day! Definitely would recommend.
The house was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, so you'll feel right at home. The accommodation exceeded our expectations in every way, providing a truly memorable experience. Santie was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome even before we arrived. You can easily access Kruger National Park from Marloth Park or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the bushveld. We especially enjoyed the visits from the zebras, kudus, warthogs and cute bush babies at night. We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area.
Escape @ Butterfly is a very practical layout with more than enough storage space. The washing machine was a pleasant surprise. There were a few issues, but the host prepared us and also immediately addressed and resolved any issues - thank you very much. We had a great time and our animal family entertained us every day. Everything was just wonderful.
This is the second time we have stayed at Escape @ Butterfly and can highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Marloth. It is so comfortable, has everything you are looking for in accommodation on holiday and is situated close to the viewpoints to enjoy looking into Kruger.
Absolutely awesome stay option! Everything you can think of is available. Communication with us was fabulous. Location is perfect - super close to the Crocodile River. The constant flow of animals around the house was lovely, and the bushbabies every night were a real treat!

The name Escape@ Butterfly truly lives up to the house. We could really "escape" from everything. It is a neat, spacious, very well planned and well equipped house. The veranda is also wonderfully large with a view of the forest and swimming pool which came in handy. Many thanks also to the hostess who came to meet us to check in earlier. We will definitely visit the house again and also recommend it.

Words are few to describe the incredible time we had at Escape@Butterfly. The house is beautiful and has all the amenities one would need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The dishwasher & washing machine are an absolute gem (definitely needed this with the little ones). The pool and deck area overlooked the bush and we had many animals visiting us and eating right out of our hands (animal food bought at the local store). But the cherry on the cake was the resident bush babies who loved the bananas we put out for them and entertained us every evening with their incredible "flying" tactics between the trees. This holiday was simply out of this world and one that our family desperately needed. Melanie (owner/host) was amazing and when we had a question or 2 she answered immediately.
We were originally booked into different accommodations in Marloth but had to find somewhere else (as it was appalling, to say the least); thankfully, things worked out for the best when we saw Escape @ Butterfly was available. It's a fantastic holiday home - well maintained, comfortable beds, well furnished, plenty of fridge and freezer space, a gorgeous stoep with braai facilities and a plunge pool, lovely bush view, and quite private as well. We had lovely visits from the local zebra, wildebeest, bushbuck, duiker, kudu, warthogs, mongoose and bushbabies, with a fruit bat showing up for a surprise evening visit as well. The host (Melanie) was exceptional, sending us regular messages of sightings along the river and being available for any queries. She was quick to respond to any queries we had and very warm and welcoming when we arrived. It really was a magical stay and we will likely stay here again in the future.
Thanks to Melanie we had a lovely holiday with my family and it was a quiet and private place.
What a lovely home, had everything required and more. Host was very helpful and communicated throughout our stay. Been to Marloth many times but this was one of our favourite places. Bushbaby was a bonus every night and the animals came throughout the day. Amazing place to stay, well recommended.

It's a very comfortable place with lots of space, very well equipped, safe with the alarm and the animals were plentiful on our porch. The owner kept us well informed and made sure we lacked absolutely nothing. She took care of questions I had and even specially bought an extra card. Definitely go the extra mile. Neat and spacious house with everything you need. The small pool is a winner and the outdoor area is ideal for a cosy visit. There were many animals around the house and even the bush-baby came to eat bananas at night. Melanie kept in touch all the time to make sure everything was in order. We enjoyed every moment and were very happy to book here.

There is an amazing feeling of being connected to the wild at Escape. Not only is the house situated among the bushes in the Marloth Park Reserve, a hundred or so metres from the Crocodile River, but with an abundance of (non-predator) animals passing by (and stopping at) your door, and with the sunrise streaming through your windows, it's Africa showing off. The house has everything you could ask for, including a dishwasher, washing machine and regular evening visits by bush babies and other nocturnal creatures. Clean, secure, spacious and comfortable, with a covered car port, huge patio and welcoming splash pool, it's the perfect base for a trip to Kruger: less than 30 minutes from Crocodile Bridge Gate and a fraction of the price you'd pay for similar accommodation in a rest camp in the Kruger itself. Don't hesitate, book as soon as you can!
The accommodation can be recommended for anyone who wants a nice breakaway in the bush. If is very neat, clean and has everything you need to rest.
We were very happy during our stay at Escape@Butterly, Melanie sent us the travel and living arrangements in advance not to mention being a phone call away ensuring a smooth self check-in and a wonderful 3 day retreat. Escape@Butterfly is a friendly cozy little house with all you need amenities and impeccable cleanliness - we thoroughly enjoyed the stoep/braai and pool area all within a few steps apart making spending time outside so much more sociable.
