House rules
House Rules include, but are not limited to the following items outlined below:


General Rules:

• No parties or events — the house is part of a great neighbourhood community which needs to be respected at all times
• No smoking is allowed.
• The wooden floor is old reclaimed wood from historic court buildings of Pretoria – kindly look after them by not dragging furniture over the floor.
• Please handle all furniture and appliances with care and love, as you would do in your own home. In case something breaks, kindly notify us.
• Please don’t leave food around and doors open during the day (if you are not around), as monkeys will only be too happy to join you in the house.
• Please always switch the air conditioner off when you open the window/doors and when you leave the house, also please switch off any lights.


Prior to Arrival:

It is acknowledged that guests who reserve their stay at the property, confirm their acceptance of the below and above-mentioned House Rules, and Terms and Conditions.
Guests who do not adhere to the property's Rental Agreement and House Rules will be politely asked to leave the premises without any refund.
Upon booking, all guests are required to provide proof of identification for all Guests staying at the home.
Guests are required to pay a refundable Security Deposit which must be reflected in the bank account provided, prior to Guest arrival.


Check-in / Check-out:

Check-in time is from 15:00 to 18:00 and check-out time is by latest 10:00 am unless prearranged. The property must be vacated timeously for the cleaners to begin. Should you wish to guarantee a late departure or an early arrival this will be subject to availability and Owner or Agents’ discretion.


Check-in procedure:

Please contact your host before you leave the airport or when you are 45 minutes away from the property to ensure you are met on time.
It would be advisable to re-confirm your arrival time with your host 48 hours prior to arrival as well, to ensure a smooth arrival and to advise of any changes.
On arrival, you will be met at the property and given a walkthrough.
Guests are required to sign a Holiday Rental Agreement which also covers any unforeseen damages as necessary. This agreement will be signed in person with your host upon arrival.


Number of guests and occupancy:

The home strictly accommodates 10 guests. It can cater for 2 extra children at an additional cost but this must be arranged in advance.

The residence may not be occupied by anyone other than the person who booked the property via the LekkeSlaap platform (the Guest) and his/her accompanying guests (including children) whose names and ID’s will be submitted prior to check in.

The property may not be used for any purpose other than private rental accommodation. The accommodation is only to be utilised for the personal use of the Guest and the number of occupants shall not exceed the original request processed by the guest on the booking. At no point in time shall the number of occupants exceed the maximum number that the accommodation can accommodate. It is specifically recorded that the terms of this agreement are binding on all persons who occupy the accommodation. The guest shall advise their host immediately of any intended increase in the number of occupants who are to occupy the accommodation at any time during the occupation period, as well as the duration of their proposed occupancy of the accommodation. It is recorded that any such additional occupants shall only be entitled to occupy the accommodation with the express written consent of your host, which consent may be withheld by your host, in its sole and absolute discretion.

Additional occupants could be subjected to an additional charge of double the nightly rate paid or as determined by your host. Guests acknowledge that they have a permanent place of residence, and the use of the accommodation is for holiday purposes only, specifically for the duration of the booking as per their LekkeSlaap confirmation.

Visitors are strictly prohibited without prior approval being granted by the property's owners.


Concerns / Defects:

Please note it is vital that you notify your host of any concerns, issues or defects within 24 hours of your arrival or within 24 hours of the issue occurring. Failing this, it will be construed that the accommodation contains everything in good order and condition. We will be unable to facilitate any comments, requests or complaints once you have departed. We will work together with you to remedy any concerns as quickly as possible. The guest shall not make any alterations or additions to the accommodation. Please allow reasonable time for defects to be rectified. The properties are “working assets” and certain unforeseen defects could occur.


Special Arrangements:

Please email your host with any special requests you may have for your stay in order to see if we can assist with this. i.e. cots, re-configuration of beds, car rental / transfer requirements, special cleaning arrangements etc.
The house provides a daily basic cleaning service every morning (making beds and a quick tidy up.) Additional cleaning and laundry services can be arranged at an additional cost.
Pets can be accommodated on prior arrangement.


Noise control:

This home is situated in a residential area with a lovely family and close-knit community feel. Guests are respectfully asked to please respect the neighbours, keep all noise to a minimum and to adhere to the noise control measures implemented by the city council. We, therefore, need to notify you of the following conditions:

• Absolutely NO parties, events or functions of any kind are to be held at the property. This includes birthday parties, weddings, luncheons, baby showers, hen or stag parties or launches.

• NO loud noise or loud music of any nature (heard by neighbours) is permitted and failure to adhere to this rule will result in the guests being required to leave immediately.

• No hooting or shouting in the street at any time (day or night.)


Events, functions and parties:

There is a strict NO Parties or Events policy which extends to any other functions such as baby showers, hen or stag parties, luncheons etc.

No birthday parties, functions, events and/or similar are to be held the accommodation, unless by prior arrangement and written consent by management. No third-party suppliers, caterers, external contractor and/or similar are allowed onto the accommodation, unless by prior arrangement and written consent by your host.

Should guests breach this clause, or the clauses relating to maximum occupants and noise control, we reserve the right to immediately evict all guests without reimbursement.


Load shedding (scheduled power outages):

The property has a solar-powered inverter system so guests aren't affected by loadshedding. In the unfortunate event whereby the area is affected by an extended electricity/power outage, the inverter system's battery can last between 8 - 18 hours depending on usage, but nothing further in extreme cases. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. This is unfortunately something that is out of our hands and governed by the South African electricity providers. Accordingly, neither your host, nor the owners/owners’ representative shall be liable for any refunds, compensation or discounts as a result of services being unavailable due to load shedding/an area wide power outage. The owners, however, have taken a number of additional backup measures to ensure your greatest comfort during your stay.


Access to the property:

Your host, the owner and/or their representatives shall have the right of access to the accommodation, in order to affect any repairs to the accommodation, or for any emergency purposes. The guest would be notified timelessly so that the guest is not inconvenienced.


Security:

This property is maintained by a security company.
