It was lovely and the rooms were clean and neat. The staff are very friendly. I do think that they were understaffed, however, particularly at breakfast we had to ask for service and waited quite long for our food. But the food was good when it was served. The air conditioners in our rooms did not work, and one room was stiflingly hot.

There is everything you need and a very nice breakfast that is included. They have solar panels, so you don't even know about load shedding.

We will certainly choose Evergreen Lodge every time we visit Stellenbosch. Just the fact that they provide for load shedding makes them six stars in my book.
Evergreen Lodge's rooms need a bit of 'upgrading', however they are neat. The service is fast and omelettes with breakfast are truly the best yet. Thank you.

Evergreen Lodge offers a very central, secure base in Stellenbosch. It is walking distance to almost everything. The staff's service and friendliness is truly top notch, and they were able to help us in a flash with an extra bed in the family room when we needed it for one night. Parking is small and difficult if you can't reverse well, park on the street instead (there is additional space at another gate, but Evergreen only has one extra remote for that gate). The bathroom in the family room is very small. Breakfast was delicious.

Our family enjoyed walking around the town and climbing the mountain. We enjoyed the friendly environment and the hospitality of the staff at Evergreen Lodge. The scenery is beautiful and there is something for everyone to enjoy, from flowers blooming to birds chirping and even little chameleons in the trees.
A lovely peaceful guest house in the heart of busy Stellenbosch. The room and bathroom are spacious, tidy and very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful and provide high quality service. A wonderful weekend. Evergreen is my new place to live in Stellenbosch.

The staff are very competent, friendly and helpful. The accommodation is exquisite, the breakfast tasty, and the building full of character and beautiful. However, travelers should note that the guest house is in the center of town and that Stellenbosch University is spread throughout the town. However, the site itself is very peaceful and extremely well managed by the staff. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay experience.

If you are on business and want to eat breakfast at a reasonable time in order to get to work you must notify them in advance.
The accommodation is tastefully appointed in old buildings. There are two pools which would make for good relaxation in the summer months. Our room was comfortable, the service was excellent and we had a good breakfast. Our stay was marred by being woken before 5am by the noise through the dry wall of running water to fill the bath from the bathroom next door where the guest was obviously preparing to leave early. One could also hear other taps being opened and coughing.

I had stayed here previously and did stay here again. I am glad I was able to. Best of all is it is centrally situated enabling me to get around on foot. They ensured that my bicycle was stored safely as it is my only means of transportation.
I arrived by bicycle and I had no problems having it locked away safely. The staff were friendly and welcoming too. I wish I could have stayed a little longer. I shall be back.
