Arrangements and communication with owners were comfortable and effective. Star Gazer was well equipped and in line with descriptions. Jewel in the natural beauty and family could 'reconnect' away from the connected life. Owners were friendly and took excellent care of us. Will definitely visit again.
The cottage is equipped with everything you might need. Clean and stylish! Beautiful view over the forest and on the mountain from a nice large porch with built-in braai. There is also a fire place/pit where you can make big bonfires. Private plunge pool for hot days. The outdoor shower has a lovely view. The cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 more beds in the living room. Sleeps 6. It is very private and away from other people on the farm. Very little cell phone reception. There is not much to do on the farm or town, but you can relax wonderfully in nature. Walk to the river is close. You can walk the whole farm in 30 minutes. Marico town is but dilapidated and very elementary. Marico Eye is interesting - take snorkel gear! About 30 km drive out and you can also have a picnic or barbecue under trees. If you want to properly relax, lie around, barbecue, splash in the pool and read in the stylish cottage or on the lovely veranda, I would recommend Evergreen.
Lynnie and Rob welcomed us kindly! All the facilities are excellently maintained. Our chalet was comfortable and well equipped. A plus is that it is animal friendly and my lap dog was able to come along. The scenery is beautiful and we were able to rest and relax. We will definitely visit there again!

Evergreen has certainly paid attention to the finer details. The Stargazer cottage was properly furnished, we could have a good barbecue and cook and didn't miss anything. The whole farm is very tidy and the hosts friendly.
Just the right place to break away from the city. Very nice to relax and watch the stars without light pollution.
Did some bird watching, outings to the riverbank and a hike down the road with our doggies. We soon will visit again.
Love the spacious grounds around each unit that was carefully landscaped to provide ample privacy and was beautifully maintained. Dog friendly was a plus and provision was made for additional blankets for pets to protect bedding and furniture. Lynnie - our host, was very welcoming and friendly. A wonderful retreat for larger groups of family and friends.

Delightful forest break with the cleanest air, rich bird life and unspoiled nature. The river is within walking distance of the cottages and it's lovely to spend time by the river. The stars at night are so bright, it feels like you can touch them. Lynn and Rob's hospitality is second to none. We will definitely go back again to embalm our souls.

My dogs and I had a great time exploring and they got on well with the two beautiful boerbull dogs. I love the decor in Rain Lily cottage, a charming fusion of vintage and contemporary, and the small touches like the hydrangeas in vases and candles and diffusers everywhere. There's even a music player that takes USB sticks. I can hardly wait to go back.
WOW, WOW, WOW! Amazing place and people. One of the best places we have ever stayed as a self-catering accommodation. The attention to finer details (such as the music playing in the unit upon arrival, the duvet covers available to use outside for stargazing, the complete barbecue set and basket if you would like to have a picnic by the river, the ice cold water in the fridge) you don't get every day. Never sat so much and enjoyed sitting on a stoep and just listening to nature. The river section is so pristine and the river itself so clean. Lovely sitting on the chairs by the river with our feet in the water and reading. We are going back for another visit soon!!!!

The owners have focused here on the finest detail so that guests do not lack anything. Extremely clean and tidy, not only the accommodation, but also the grounds and gardens. The picnic spot by the river is breathtaking and worth spending time at. We literally tore ourselves away there.

Evergreen is so peaceful and it's like you're all alone in the forest. The accommodation is much more than just a cottage, it is spacious and tidy with all the facilities and a braai at your cottage. I recommend Evergreen for single persons to families.
We stayed as a family for a long weekend. The house is extremely neat and fully equipped with everything you could need. We swam, walked, ate fruit and sat around the campfire at night. The nature and birdlife are exceptional. It is very nicely cleaned at the river bank which gives one easy access to the river. The owners make a lot of effort and I can highly recommend Evergreen.
Robb and Lynnie are fantastic hosts and made us and our children feel at home. It was the best stop on the way to Zimbabwe. Excellent value for money.
Rob and Lynn made us feel so welcome. Lynn made sure it was an unforgettable experience for my son (a village boy who doesn't know much about farm life). She showed him around the farm, and even let him feed chickens and take out eggs. The unit itself was clean and tidy with everything needed. On late arrival, Rob and Lynnie were kind enough to turn on the chalet's lights for us and to say that all payments would only be processed the next day. They are so nice and make you feel so welcome, you can just sit back and relax and be shut out from the world with very little signal reception. Lovely to see our two little dogs playing with Rob and Lynnie's dogs. Will definitely return to the tranquility again.
Ideal location and accommodation for some early cycling training. Nice why to get fit in the hilly surroundings and beautiful bush veld with lots of game to be seen. We enjoyed our stay and were well looked after.

Lynn and Rob are two fantastic people who welcomed us with open arms. Everything was perfect, neat and so peaceful. Absolutely a place for people who love nature, birds and all the tranquility of the river's flow. Awesome.
Warm welcome. We accompany you to our unit and explain where and what everything is. During that time, my 3-year-old is already in the pool with the beloved dog Rommel, who entertained us all weekend. The pool is at the cottage so you can keep an eye on your children at all times and you are in control of how full or empty the pool should be. My 10 month old daughter was also swimming so we drained some water. Rommel is child-friendly without licking or jumping, he walks along and plays in the water. The river is close to the house but far enough that your children will not walk there alone. Feed the chickens or sheep, play in the river and go down in tubes that you can borrow from the owners. Pick nuts and oranges or lemons. Listen to the evening sounds and see the most beautiful moonrise. There are many butterflies and birds for those who want to take pictures. We look forward to our next visit.
We live in Gaborone, Botswana and had never been to Groot Marico before but were recommended a few different places for accommodation. When looking online however we saw Evergreen and decided to give them a try. From the moment we booked everything went very smoothly: Lynnie and Rob provided plenty of information to help us prepare for our stay and once we arrived from Gaborone (less than 3 hours door-to-door) we were welcomed to an absolutely incredible home with all the essentials and plenty of luxury: good hot showers, a braai area, fire pit, outside shower, splash pool. All just a one minute walk from the river. We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying with Lynnie and Rob who were tremendous hosts, allowing us to make full use of their mountain bikes, quad bike, board games and moonshine! We would recommend this place again in a heartbeat and with it being so easy to reach from Gaborone we'll be back soon!

We stayed in the Butterfly Cottage for 3 nights. The hosts went to a lot of trouble to make us feel welcome. The house is well equipped and private: It's close to a river, but not too close that I was worried about my toddler. Great braai facilities too and space for a massive camp fire.
