There is a Little and Large Rondavel which each have their own kitchenettes. The Cottages share a bathroom and a kitchenette. Each room can accommodate at least 2 guests. The units are serviced daily, and Wi-Fi is available.
All guests have access to the family braai room which comprises indoor braai facilities, a fully-equipped kitchen, a comfortable dining area, and includes full DStv. This room can double as a small-conferencing or seminar venue. Dinner and breakfast is available on request at an additional fee per person.
The farm offers refreshing spring water throughout and in no short supply. The patios at the Main House, The Cottage and Large Rondavel boast beautiful views of the sprawling gardens and meadows where sheep, cattle and horses roam freely; bird-life also abounds. Linky's attention to detail was excellent, ensuring we had all we needed during loadshedding. We are sorry that our stay-over was one night only as there is so much more to explore. We will definitely revisit the farm.
The place is very well equipped. Spacious and separate braai room. Which one unfortunately shares with other guests. Other than that, very good! Beautiful, old-world farmhouse and views and farm sounds and warm welcome. The road from Maclear has just been driven out after the rain.
We were warmly welcomed by Linky who went out of her way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious and good value for money.

We enjoyed a wonderful break at Fairbairn where we could relax in the beautiful scenery and breathe in the fresh mountain air. A variety of birds could be seen in the garden. We had a good time and played games in the beautiful braai room. We would love to visit Fairbairn again.
Probably the most breathtakingly fantastic place ever. The farm is luxurious, facilities fantastic, total privacy and and and! Highly recommended. Only problem is no Vodacom reception, but of course this is not the fault of the owners or the place at all. Fortunately, WiFi is available on the farm. Definitely worth a visit!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Fairbairn Guest Farm. The facilities are excellent and the service very good. The quiet peaceful farm environment in a beautiful landscape is invigorating. We found the road quite good for a dirt road. The Naude's Nek section of the access road has some "bumpy spots" but not sections that would be very difficult to ride when wet.

We were treated very well and everything was clean and tidy. Manager lit a fire for us and made a braai room available for the evening. It was really nice and I will definitely go there again.
Very neat unit, and you can go for a walk on the whole farm, which is picture-perfect. I would recommend Fairbairn anytime and the owner is a lovely woman. Breakfast is also recommended in the living room with a beautiful view of the mountains.
Most marvelous hosts. The rooms are as comfortable as they could be, and having the coal stove in the kitchen certainly kept us warm! The food was delicious, the views magnificent, and best of all was the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city, calm, peaceful, and serene. We will be back!
The location is fantastic with exceptionally friendly and professional service and the cleanliness and detail was of a high standard. Would stay there again in the future if in the area.
One of our party had special dietary restrictions. I advised Sebastiaan some days prior to our stay and he didn't hesitate to provide us with a dinner that fitted the bill. The rooms were very comfortable and the showers are excellent. Everything was spotless. Breakfast was top class and we especially enjoyed the fact that everyone was seated at one table. It makes for good interaction between groups of guests. Tranquil surroundings. Highly recommended.
It is definitely worth the money to order delicious home-cooked meals. The accommodation is well furnished. The lapa has full DStv and delicious indoor barbecue. We will definitely visit Fairbairn again.
We stayed a night which was too short. We booked dinner and breakfast and were spoilt. Had a lot of laughs with Sebastian and felt at home.
Spacious accommodation. A communal eating area has great views and an indoor braai facility. Each unit/house had its own cooking/prep area as well. Host was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. My kids spent the rest of the holiday asking when we would go back to Sebastian's house! My husband is an avid birder and took great joy in the fluff-tail presence and the display flight of the snipe at dawn/dusk. We also watched crowned cranes flying over to roost. My sons loved the short walk to a mountain stream where they filled their water bottles with fresh mountain water.
After we finally got there, it was a great experience. Old farmhouse with old bedding. Everything very clean. Was quite scary being all alone on the farm with no emergency numbers inside the house. Host was extremely helpful and friendly.
Thank you for the quiet stay. We well rested after enjoying the silence and incredibly beautiful environment. Our needs were 100% satisfied and felt very welcome.
Fairbairn is located in a beautiful area. The reception was very friendly. There is a road to Rhodes that is very beautiful. You need a 4x4 vehicle to reach Rhodes. We had a nice dinner and breakfast.

Fairbairn Guest Farm is a still, peaceful farm with only the sounds of nature. The staff are very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make it very special for us. We had a lovely stay at Fairbairn - the host and hostess are unbelievable people and made us feel so at home and welcome. The food was lovely and we were very spoiled on Christmas day with real farm food! The farm is located in an amazing area. We will definitely be back - our dogs really enjoyed the walks in the surrounding mountains!
