30 guests' feedbackIt was absolutely worth it, lots of space, comfortable and everything you would need for a nice short stay. The environment is very beautiful and it is located against the mountain. Although it is located very close to the town, it was dead quiet and all the stars were visible after the sun went down. Riana gives great service and is friendly and helpful, thank you very much we felt at home.
The place is perfectly located in a quiet corner on the mountain. Everything in the house is very neat and clean. Everything is available for use. House with an indoor and outdoor barbecue. Hiking trails are incredibly beautiful and peaceful.
We arrived there in one of the worst storms ever, so unfortunately we couldn't explore the farm, but we had a great time sitting by the warm fire and staying very comfortable.
Lovely holiday home at the foot of the Matroosberg to "recharge" on our own time.
Friendly service. Beautiful stay. Everything you need. We had a great time cooling off in the pool. Could go for a nice walk. Love the place. Will definitely stay there again.
Had a great time and the owners spoiled us terribly with a tour of the apple and pear orchard and some freshly picked fruit. The pool and rock pool were a treat and the unit very tidy. We will definitely come back again for a weekend visit.
Lovely stay winter stay, was just the R&R that the doctor ordered! Beautiful farm, super friendly hosts, and our fur kid enjoyed the open space immensely. We will be back to enjoy the cottage and pool in summer!
Very nice stay, everything was good and clean. Perfect location. Just couldn't find the matches and flash!
Beautiful views around you. Outside the city life.
Wonderful opportunity to rest.
Beautiful and convenient setting. The plumbing was backed up, which made for awkward showers that were slow to drain. The gate only works with a South African telephone, which I do not have.
Fairfield cottages are located at the foot of the mountain and amid the fruit orchards of Fairfield, just outside Ceres. They are very well equipped, with everything you may need. We occupied both Klipspringer and Fynbos. They have high-quality crockery (enough of everything) and the kitchen is very well equipped with an electric stove and other electric appliances. There is no backup power, but there are fireplaces and rechargeable portable lights so load shedding hardly bothers you. Everything is super clean with lovely linen and comfy beds. There is a Tickle Tub, which was perfect for late afternoon chilling (or warming). There is a sparkling clean swimming pool and many options for walks on the farm. There is also a dam and you can canoe or swim or fish or bring your own SUP, etc. Fairfield Cottages are highly recommended for a family or a couple. The cottages are far enough apart to enjoy peace, but close enough to move between if your group is large enough to occupy more than one cottage. There are good security measures like burglar bars, security gates and an alarm system. The cottages are comfortable enough to lounge about in if you don't fancy going on walks or doing any of the other activities. You can buy rusks and firewood on-site. Just book it - you'll love it!
Beautiful cottage with lovely linen and touches.
There is a need for a closet for clothes, but there is no closet to put or hang clothes in, making it difficult to live out of your suitcase, especially with children. Other than that we really enjoyed it! Tops.
We had a really lovely, peaceful stay. Will definitely be back again!
The house is right next to the mountain, about 10 meters walk then you start to follow a path in the mountain that ends at rock paintings. It's really special. Furthermore, one can also walk through the fruit orchards. The pool and the wood-fired hot tub are very nice.
Very nice and comfortable place - and super clean! The indoor braai/fire was delicious and the children really enjoyed playing outside. We will definitely visit again.
Lots of birds and small bucks. The hikes to the rock art was easy with the markings along the route and we had our own personal guide, Bella the fox terrier. We did stargazing under clear skies. Really had a fabulous stay.
Beautiful farm with the most beautiful, unique cottages. Lovely to walk around. Cool off in the splash pool. No noise. Delicious.
Hosts were very accommodating. A lovely hidden gem.
The scenery takes your breath away. Silence was good for the soul.
Wi-Fi intermittent, but this was not an issue for the purpose the trip.
The house is well furnished, tidy, spacious and delightfully cosy. The farm is also conveniently close to the town. We had a great time and would stay at Fairfield Cottages again anytime. Thanks to the farm dog Bella, who looked after us so well.
We had an amazing stay at the Mountain Spring Cottage within Fairfield cottages. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. The outdoor bath is pure bliss and the scenery surrounding the cottage is absolutely breathtaking. I also love that it is pet-friendly and our puppy had a ball!
It is the most beautiful place in the most beautiful surroundings. We really enjoyed the farm and mountains! Perfect for a nice weekend getaway.
We were at home in Klipspringer and the highlight for me was the paw bath under the trees. Even though it was freezing cold, I had a wonderfully cuddly bath in nature. Just two suggestions: Although there are wall heaters in the rooms, they are only effective if the door is kept closed at all times. However, it then gets quite stuffy. So an electric blanket might be a better option. The other thing is, the shower floor. Since there is no door to the shower, it can become quite a messy story with the water not draining completely. I think one bathroom for 6 people can also become quite difficult in the winter with only one shower and toilet.
Very nice cottage and the people are friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit. Will definitely want to go again in the future.
Fairfield Cottages is situated on a beautiful fruit farm just outside the town. Away from all the day-to-day noise and hustle and bustle. Here we could relax and rest in nature. We walked long distances, swam, swung, picked up firewood, chatted by the fire and slept well. The cottage has plenty of space and is tastefully furnished. The house is well equipped with everything needed to have a comfortable holiday. Of course the outdoor shower was a big "treat" because our weather was beautiful! The owners go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and help if there are any queries. Directions were good and check-in and check-out easy. We would definitely recommend Fairfield Cottages to any family that just wants to get away and relax in nature. And if we're in Ceres again, we'll want to stay there.
Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Long walks in the orchards with my lab was a highlight.
DStv is advertised, but when you get there it is not the full package or at least more practical channels, we could have catered for that. The chairs and sofas in the room had a terrible smell, are very uncomfortable and are 100 years old. More modern in the cottage would have made a difference. There was a bad musty smell in the whole cottage. The front door was close to breaking and was only hanging on one of its hinges, my husband fixed it so the door wouldn't fall off its last hinge. Cockroaches ran over us at night and we slept with a permanent look of doom next to our bed. The kitchen honestly needs a serious "make over". After all, this is where you want to hang out and eat. Our animal children tour everywhere with us, we clean up decently after ourselves. And we left the cottage in a better and cleaner condition when we left. Very disappointing.
