The living area includes an open plan lounge and kitchen area with a wood burning fireplace, ideal for those cold Dullstroom winter nights. The fully equipped, Oregon-finished kitchen, boasts a farm style table for family meals and all kitchen essentials. The unit has a porch along 2 sides of the house, as well as an outside braai.
There is a carport and 1 open parking space for each unit. The Fairstreams estate is secured by palisade fencing with a remote controlled security gate.The unit is served by cleaners upon your departure only. Daily cleaning can be arranged with an on-site cleaning lady for your own account.
Many of the village restaurants and shops are also within walking distance. On part of the development there is an original stone wall ‘kraal’, which is protected and will be enhanced as a feature of the estate.

The accommodation is well located close to the attractions and has secure parking. The place was nice and clean and Linda was very friendly and helpful in arranging for the toilet to be replaced without a seat and arranging a braai. There is no TV in Fairstreams 1 and access to WiFi would be a great addition as there was almost no mobile phone reception. In terms of value for money it was our impression that for the cost the linen, top mattress and cleanliness (eg paint peeling in bathrooms and overhead shower leaking) was not up to standard.
We stayed there with friends and had a lovely weekend. The unit is perfectly located and secure.
The shower was leaking/drip through floor in downstairs bathroom and the security gate did not work. We had to push the gate open and close. There was no water either, but that was a problem everywhere in town and not a Fairstream problem. This is the second time we have stayed there and I would recommend it.
On arrival to pick up the key I was told there was still an outstanding amount. I received an email from the owner after which she requested to deposit the balance into her account, which I did. The bedding is old and the pillowcases are full of holes. The bathroom carpet was dirty. The shower leaks water that flows into the downstairs bathroom. Maintenance is not done, the walls shell from water leaking through the roof.
Very central location, but quiet street. Not a big garden for children. Good value for money.
We had a comfortable stay and the location is close to the dam and the restaurants in town. The wooden floor upstairs was quite noisy for people sleeping below. The unit is very well furnished and in a very nice location.

Fairstream Selfcatering Guesthouse is homely, comfortable accommodation. All amenities my family needed to enjoy a weekend away from home were provided. Clean and tidy.

Really great value for money. The place is beautiful, and the fireplace and warm blankets changed the freezing days to pleasant evenings. Maybe attention should be paid to a few little things - the mattresses in the top bedroom has seen its best days, so we moved to the bottom room. And maybe not essential, just a little thing, but a small carpet next to the bed can help with the cold mornings.

We found our unit to be very neat and tidy on arrival, with all that we needed for our four night stay (kids' half-term break). There were wood and firelighters in the unit even though we had been advised to bring our own, and it was wonderful to be able to light a fire on arrival at 20:00 on a cold and misty evening in Dullies. Electric blankets on all the beds, and a Victorian style bath tub also helped to ensure that we never felt cold or without our home comforts! The unit was more than spacious for the four of us and we did not need to use the upstairs section, although the two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs looked more than adequate to accommodate another family of four. Everything in the kitchen worked well, and we felt safe given that we accidentally set off the alarm twice (oops) and the local security company were at the house within minutes.

The only down side was that the unit wasn't cleaned thoroughly. The bathrooms and shower were dirty and some of the pots we took from the cupboard we had to wash as they still had some old food in them. If they could also just leave a scrubber to clean the pots with, it would be great.
Lovely fireplace to keep warm! The house is located within the town of Dullstroom, and so it means everything is within walking distance. The house had everything we needed- linen, towels, cutlery etc. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it. The only issues with the house - weak shower pressure, and if you walk around upstairs it wakes up the guests in the downstairs rooms. But these were not big issues for us!

We visited Fairstream during winter and made a nice fire in the fireplace in the evenings. Every bed had an electric blanket so the bottom part of the house was nice and warm, but as soon as you moved upstairs it was quite cold. Maybe it's a good idea to put oil heaters in each room. There were only 2, but 4 bedrooms. Some of the bed lamps' lightbulbs were blown and did not work. There was a shortage of two prong plug points, will bring some with in the future. The shower's drain was blocked. We also missed a food cupboard for our things. The 2 baskets on the fridge was a bit too small. But the rest of the house was well kitted out. The kitchen table was a nice place for socialising - always the heart of the home!
Had a nice stay, there were more than enough crockery, beds were big and comfortable, it was even cold enough to use the fireplace.
We really enjoyed ourselves at Fairstream Guest House. The accommodation was neat and clean except for the floors. The bedding was clean and fresh as well as the towels. The bathrooms were clean and hygienic. The shower in the second bathroom was not working and that was quite a big problem. That would be the only major problem that upset us a lot.
Lovely units. Surely they will hear from us again. Very close to town and perfect walking distance to wherever you want to be.
We were only 5 people in the house, but it sounded like 30 when someone moved upstairs. We accidentally forgot two knives in the unit we rented. We called the lady from whom we collected the key and asked them to please. keep the knives for me, I will come and get them at the end of the month when I pass by Dullstroom again. Haven't received any feedback until today.
Fairstream offers all the necessary facilities for a pleasant stay. The fireplace and the electric blankets came in very handy in the cold weather. We will definitely stay here again. The secure parking is also a bonus!
Our three couples stayed in Fairstream no. 1 overnight stay: well-equipped, "nice" and safe house. Felt welcome and at home as soon as I stepped in. A very nice holiday home! Would definitely recommend and stay there for more days next time. Great customer service too!
