Beautiful place, very unique. View was breathtaking. The road to get there was not quite suitable for a car with ordinary tires. Got a flat tire, will drive a van next time. But it was delicious and will definitely go there again.

I don't even know where to start! It's beautiful, it's quiet, there's plenty of room for the children to run, the house is lovely clean and nicely furnished. The fire burns while the men braai and the children frolic. It's a dream for any city mouse to be in such a beautiful farmhouse and surroundings. There are beautiful sights in the area. We were quite sad when we had to pack up and drive yesterday.

I have stumbled upon Twin Towers @ Fairview Estates while looking for nice hiking trails, and decided to book. What a wonderfully quirky and fun place to stay at with spectacular views over mountains. Alpaca, horses and cows roaming below. Sipping on my coffee early in the morning while watching the wondrous sunrises melting over the farmland. A truly wonderful place! This 3-story “silo-house” is for the fun-loving adventurer looking for something different while enjoying nature at its best. The ground floor has 1 bedroom with a queen bed, shower and toilet, and 2 double beds in the open area. The 1st floor has the main bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom with a bath and a separate toilet. The 2nd floor has the kitchen with everything you will need, as well as the lounge area with comfy seating, fireplace, TV, DStv, Netflix and good WiFi, but no phone service. The internet worked well. Also on this floor is a small balcony overlooking everything, beautiful sunrises and spectacular views. The 3rd floor has a large open area with a dining area and braai facilities. Amazing views from up there. This area leads up to a nice grassy area with a bonfire area and a “plaasdam” for swimming. The house has lots of open stairs which are not safe for little kids to climb alone, but totally safe for older kids and adults. The stairs did not bother us. They are easy to climb and provide good exercise! The floors are wooden floors which are a bit noisy when you walk, and you can faintly hear each other through the wood, but again it did not bother us at all. We loved staying there; it was different, fun, and unique. The house was surprisingly warm and cozy. There is ample space and farm roads to walk and cycle. Bring your bicycles! The animals are beautiful, and the farm dog is super cute. We can't wait for summer to go again!

The venue is unique. Serenity and ambience with a mixture of farm animals made it more pleasurable. It is important to advertise unavailable facilities (e.g. television, DSTv). The taps for shower and basins should be labelled as hot or cold - the balance of hot and cold water in the showers was almost impossible.

"Dirt road."

We gave the accommodation away. In the house rules it states that the accommodation is 19km down a dirt road. Unfortunately it's not part of the general description.

"Cosy stay."

We spent 2 nights in De Rust cottage. The view is beautiful. All the rooms have an oil heater and electric blankets on the beds. The cast iron stove made the cottage cozy and warm. Take just enough wood. Kitchen has everything you need. Even a filter coffee machine. There is a cleaner who comes to clean every day. Horses, alpacas and cattle on the farm. There isn't a shop around the corner, if you might have forgotten something. So pack nicely. At least there is WiFi, because there is no cell phone signal.

The Eastern Free State remains one of my favorite places in South Africa. And Fairview's Twin Towers make it even more fun to visit. They converted two old silos into a three-bedroom unit, and it feels like visiting a friend's house. It's really well equipped with everything you need, with interesting artwork, comfortable furniture, and breathtaking views from every room. At the very top is a covered meeting area, and if you want to make a proper fire and barbecue, there is a bridge that leads to a nice fire place. There is no mobile phone signal, but there is strong Wi-Fi. The owners are friendly and helpful, and it's simply a pleasure to stay there.

The Twin Towers really are perfect for a unique Eastern Free State getaway. The accommodation has been furnished with a fine eye for detail - from the delightfully quirky "pop art" works of art to the warm blankets, alpaca wool cushions and fabric. We didn't sleep cold at all, even though we stayed there in the dead of winter. If you are a jogger, there are also beautiful jogging paths! We definitely recommend it (unless you're afraid of climbing stairs!). Thank you for a lovely break.

The road to the house was a bit rough, but only because it rained, but the stay, the view you see every day is just perfect, would go again anytime. A little far out of the towns so make sure you take everything you need and extra, because we just stayed an extra night so nice and nice it was.

De Rust guest house is something to experience. A dirt road leads to a bit of a mountain road that sends you through a cave mouth to the most breathtaking cottage next to a mountain range. The house is private and well equipped for visiting and relaxing. Corlia is a fantastic host and was available all the time. We will definitely visit Fairview again.

The house offers everything and more for a family of 4. Everything was clean and beautiful. The house is located in an incredibly beautiful part. The house makes you feel welcome. Clarens is relatively close if you fancy a lot of shopping and eating out.

"De Rust Farm Cottage is a wonderful retreat."

We stayed at De Rust Farm Cottage which is away from the rest of the farm and nicely secluded. The Cottage itself is very well equipped and has an internal fireplace for wintery evenings. Can highly recommend. Just a note that the cottage itself does not have cell phone signal, one needs to walk a little and one does need a car with a bit of ground clearance to get there (bakkie, SUV, we were in a Hyundai Venue), a low sedan won't work.

Even though the area had more rain than usual (since 1958) and we were mostly indoors, the house lent itself to family togetherness and the nature around us could be seen and experienced. We were a large group and booked both the Twin Towers and De Rust, I would not recommend this at all as the distance and terrain between the 2 makes it impractical.

The road is not for cars. I had a flat tyre on the dirt road towards the venue. We only slept at the venue for one night of the 3 as we could not travel back an forth on the road. When I told the owner I could not stay there due to the road she simply stated that she did not think the road was bad at all. I am telling you now that the road is not suitable for cars, SUVs or bakkies, for sure but not cars. It took me 1h40min to travel back to the main road the next morning.

This is my second time at DeRust and just enjoyed it even more than the last time. You need a 4x4 car to get there. They have nice big soft towels, good quality linen and warm blankets for a good night's rest. The kitchen has everything you need. We love walking, and had a nice walk to the pond in the morning before breakfast and enjoyed the incredible sunrise. We will go back again and again.

Made so many unforgettable memories in my two night stay at Fairview Estates that I wish I had stayed longer. There is no better place to escape the noisy and fast paced world. Ons het 'n lekker stil, maar tog "nice" wegbreekplek gesoek om ons anniversary to vier! Wat 'n lekker surprise was dit nie om in só 'n unieke, wel toegeruste, silwerskoon, smaakvolle plek in te boek nie. Dit was eerlik een van die beste plekke waar ek nog gebly het, so uniek met 'n ongelooflike mooi uitsig! Weer was die Saterdag nie great nie, maar Clarens en Fouriesburg is 'n klipgooi weg met 'n mooi pad om te ry! Corlia — wenresep, ek hoop die "Twin Towers" loop oor van bookings, dit was nou rerig 'n lekker naweek! Die swembad agter met sy view is iets om te beleef, son het ons lekker verbrand die Sondag! Mense, besoek die plek, dis ongelooflik!

De Rust is a place where you can fill up your cup. The surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. The cottage was fantastically luxurious and equipped with everything that one could possibly think of. The cleaner is a beautiful person who does her work with so much respect and devotion. We were so privileged to stay there. Next time we'll bring the kids along, they are all that was missing.

Twin Towers was such an experience. Had a great time, was just a pity it was so short. Everything was neat and clean. We had a great time driving around on the farm and cooled off in the farm dam. Breathtaknig view from every window. We arrived at night, gravel road comes to a dead end in Fairview Estates. Basically no cellphone reception, how nice. Thanks, we'll see you again.

Had a great time. It would have been valuable to know that one actually only if i.t.v. had to pack food supplies, as the 25 km dirt road back to the main road took about an hour to complete. Also think the cleaning service should be included in the total package. To pay extra if you are already paying R1750/night... The facilities are in excellent condition. Beautiful antiques, lovely big fluffy towels, fresh bedding. Can see there is no neglect at all. Even the kitchenware, plates, mugs etc. is good quality and there is a nice big fridge. Poor cell phone reception was a lovely bonus! Fairview will definitely see us again, but our preparation will be a little different.

Wow, what a great experience. We had a great time in the beautiful farmhouse, and everything you need was at your disposal. Remember to buy all your groceries before you go home, because I assure you you won't want to drive back and forth. It's a long stretch of dirt road, but once you're there, it's all worth it. The horses came to visit us in the house and were tame enough to handle. It was fantastic!
