These beautiful and well equipped self-catering units offer you all the comforts to make your stay an unforgettable experience.
There are three log cabins, 2 overlooking dams, all with en-suite bathrooms, lounge, dining areas and fully equipped kitchens. All cabins have a fireplace and DStv (please bring own smart card and decoder).
Every Cabin has an outside Boma where you can dine under the African sky and stars at night.
The names of the cabins all derive from trout flies; Matuka- 6 sleeper - 10 sleeper, Invicta- 4 sleeper and Marabou- 4 sleeper.
Excellent fly-fishing for rainbow and brown Trout and bass fishing is also available. Choose your challenge from ten picturesque dams; 3 Bass dams and 7 Trout dams; Catch and release is practiced. Fly fishing tuition available on request as well hiring of Rods.
Other Activities include mountain biking and excellent birding, jungle gym playground for the children, a pool and pool deck where you can relax a while in the sun and a private picnic spot right next to the waterfall.

5 guests' feedbackWe had a great stay at Fancy Free Fishing Retreat. We caught good fish and there is enough space and ponds that you are not standing close to anyone else. The ponds were well stocked and although it was warm we still caught trout. The bass ponds have been a big bonus, and we've caught a lot of good ones there too. Vaughn was very friendly and took us on a tour of the breeding ponds. We stayed in Invicta. The boma area was nice and private. The 2 bathrooms were also a bonus, and there was plenty of hot water in all the showers. Vaughn also made my son's birthday special by putting balloons around the house for him. Will definitely go again.
The accommodation rate is high R650 per person per night for what the resort has to offer, however the fishing makes it worth the cost, catch and release. If it wasn't for the good fishing I wouldn't have visited the resort again.
Great relax! Accommodation was clean and tidy! We really enjoyed the porch! And thankful for warm blankets and warm hearth! See again.
Many black bass caught. Eight trout were caught. Water was still a bit warm for trout. Will definitely go back in the winter.
