Every room is tidy and equipped with all necessities. The owners are great people. This is our third year visiting and we love it.
Absolutely a pleasure to stay there. We were a couple and my parents, the place is really well equipped and very tidy. Comfortable for 4 people and really good if you have older people with you. Walking distance (even with sore knees) to the sea. Photos on the website are a bit older. Places have been upgraded a bit and now look even better and neater. The uncle is always very helpful and friendly. No complaints.

Accommodation was within walking distance of the beach. The accommodation provides all basic needs for a breath-taking weekend.

The arrival on December 23 was friendly. The place is opposite the sea. It is convenient with children. However, it was unfortunate that the unit was not cleaned to standard at all. There were food residues on the cutlery and the drawers were very dirty. The cups had coffee rings at the bottom. We had to wipe out the cupboards for food and clothes to unpack. In the room's cupboard were plasters that had been used. The bins and laundry basket were dirty and full of sand. The cupboards smell very musty. In the vegetable rack there were papers, rubbish and old batteries. We were away over Christmas and sent a cleaner on the 27th December. Two days later the cleaner came again to wipe the drawers. During power failure there were no lights or any alternative food facilities. The places have so much potential and with small changes could be much more convenient. Families with small children may need to bring plastic cutlery.
A weekend getaway to Witsand is a must to unwind a bit from the town's activities.

Not the ideal accommodation I would choose for my entire family. Its rough and ready and usually okay for when I just go fishing with the boys. Oven is way too small. We had a good laugh when my youngest mentioned that the microwave is bigger than our little tiny 2 plate oven. Otherwise everything was okay. We still made the best of the precious family time we had away together and that is priceless.
There is a door between our apartment and the one next door which means that all sound spills into our apartment.
We were received very kindly and Ferdi is very hospitable, but we are more used to places we book through the website. I always try to keep my reviews positive, but in this case it's just hard. I believe the website's users only deserve my honest opinion. The place is excellently located and could truly be a gem. It's just a shame the place is neglected and the cupboards smell very musty. The kitchen cupboards were very dirty. The crockery, kitchen utensils and cookware were dirty in the cupboards, so we had to wash everything before we could use it. There are places that haven't seen a duster in a long time. The furniture and decor are authentic and need attention. The DStv package that was part of the offer was only available on Friday and Saturday, but on the Sunday morning on check-out day it was cut off so we just packed up early and left.
If you want to get away this is the place to do it.

The accommodation is clean, tidy and well equipped. All equipment is in good working order. The owners make sure that all guests are comfortable. The short walk to the beach is very comfortable, especially for older people. I definitely recommend this accommodation and will stay there again.

Really not one complaint. Everything was fantastic. The location is really great, 5 minutes walk, if ever so much, from the sea and fishing waters. We were received by wonderful, friendly people and a beautiful, friendly dog who came to say hello to mine. It was wonderful to be able to take my dog with me and to be welcomed so well. During our stay the oven in the kitchen blew and they were so wonderful to offer us the use of their oven and even extra wood for the outdoor grill, although it was not needed at all. The cottage was just enough for the two of us and the little dog and we will definitely go again, but definitely more in the summer (winters by the sea are just too cold for us and a soaking wet dog), although the whales during the time of the year is bitterly beautiful.

Ferdi-Sue Accommodation is a very excellent place with a good location and tidy residence. People are friendly and it's walking distance to the main beach. I really enjoyed my time there.
The places are small, but neat. Some items need attention e.g. bath mats a bit outdated and lighting could be better. We also pointed out to the owner that there was no mug or teapot in the kitchen.

Everything was good and acceptable except that I would say the fridge was badly rusted on the outside. There was an unpleasant smell in the kitchen cupboards. Ants were also a problem. TV didn't work either. Would say that a little more attention should be given to cleaning the kitchen accessories. If the aforementioned aspects receive attention, it will be a great unit. Owner is very friendly. Will definitely use this unit again!
Ferdinand blamed us that more than 5 people were staying in the apartment, which was nonsense seeing as how our daughter was staying with family. The apartment was also not clean. Kitchen cupboards smelled. Showers were dirty. I noted Ferdinand's commentary on the website regarding negative feedback. I can confirm that the commentary isn't correct because they are still not doing what was promised. Ferdinand needs to learn how to communicate with people seeing as how his poor behaviour will cause his business a lot of damage in the future. We will not be making use of this accommodation again.
The place was very dirty and the owner kept on checking on us like little children. Kept reminding us that the place is for 4 people. I knew that and only booked for 4. He then saw a truck standing outside and assumed it was us adding more people when we didn't even know the people. I will never stay there again.Very disappointing. I am on holiday not on a prison tour.
I was almost 20 years last in Witsand and had a great time especially with having my family and friends who stayed elsewhere to braai at the guesthouse. Ferdi was great with giving updated information about the area and also recommending places to visit. Thank you Ferdi! The only thing we weren't too happy about was the sleeping area for the fifth person who has to sleep on a sleeper couch using a sleeping bag and also the extra blankets weren't fresh.
It's close to the sea, but I wouldn't stay there again. It very definitely needs an "upgrade".
Well looked after by Ferdi-sue but the accommodation needs a bit of a personal touch. Had fishermen preceeding us so the place had a lasting fishy smell. Everything worked and was functional. Location good. Good value for money.

The accommodation is comfortable with everything you need at your disposal. The beach is practically on your doorstep, you don't have to drive to the beach, but you have to stand in front of the house to see the beach. All that bothered me was that the apartment could not be locked. We didn't get a key for the front door. Witsand is indeed a quiet town, but you want to at least be able to lock your wallet somewhere. There is no safe or secure storage available.
Ferdie was very friendly and helpful. It was a very pleasant visit to Witsand.
