Accommodation was good, had everything you needed, nice country location and a relaxing stay. The main reason we booked this break was for the trout fishing, and although the fishing was very poor, to say the least.

Getaway with dogs, and activities such as hiking, chilling and simply enjoying makes this venue highly recommended. We particularly enjoyed the Jetmaster as it was a very chilly winter retreat. Loved the peace and quiet. Seeking out the waterfalls are an absolute must.
The house is very cutely furnished and has everything you need. Very friendly and helpful service from the owner, manager and the ladies who came to clean the house!
Would stay at Field and Stream again anytime. Recommend it to anyone. A 4x4 is definitely recommended if you want to go.
We celebrated an 80th birthday as a family. We booked the Farmstead and the Lodge. Gavin went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Wood was available to keep the fireplaces going. There are many beautiful hiking trails to the waterfalls. The teenagers could play pool and darts in the Lodge. The conference room was also made available to watch the rugby on Saturday evening. We really enjoyed the weekend.

Amazing location and pristine veld, dams and streams and waterfalls. But it's time to refresh the interiors of the chalets which are dated and a bit sparse. New towels, bedding, furniture and fittings would enhance the experience greatly.
Beautiful location, good privacy from other guests, great accommodation with comfy beds and all the necessities, good fishing. Loved the swim in the rock pool!
We were able to take our dogs with us which is always nice. A quiet spot in a beautiful country side, you are alone with almost no one around. Nice place to hile and enjoy the highveld nature or just be quiet and read a book. Good breakaway far from shops and people and cell phones if you use Vodacom, no signal.

Hidden waterfalls and streams, mountain hike absolutely worth it!
The location is ideal for visitors traveling from Gauteng via the N4. The town is located nearby and has interesting shops and restaurants. Field & Stream is in a breathtaking environment and the accommodation is very neat and equipped with everything you need. The customer service is very smart and friendly. We stayed in Eagle's Crest and can definitely recommend it.
At first I thought it was too expensive - until we got there. Gavin was amazing, everything went perfectly under his hand. From the dishwasher's soap to advice on which fly is making the trout bite at the moment. Our three dogs went along and Gavin even sat flat on the ground to help us get the "teenage" dog who is suddenly scared of everything comfortable. Thanks again!
We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge. Greg and Gavin were welcoming and available just a phone call away. This is our third stay at Field and Stream and it never disappoints. We will definitely be back!
It's nice that there is no TV or cell phone reception as we actually played cards chatted and had a great time. Downside is that for work commitments no WiFi was an issue but a trip to shooting range sorted that out also.
We stayed in The Nest with our 3 year old son and it met all our expectations. Gavin was always on hand for anything we needed. The dams are well stocked and the paths and gardens are well maintained for carefree walks. We had a great time!
The farm is very well located with great options for walking, cycling and trout fishing. Incredibly well maintained fields that are maintained right up to the residential units. Units are well equipped.
Field and Stream have different options, beautiful setting of each unit, we stayed in largest pet friendly unit, the farm manager Gavin and owner Greg stopped by to see if everything was ok and even brought a free bag of wood, nice big yard for the dogs, wouldn't suggest dog unit if you don't have dogs, house smelled like dog urine on the carpets in master bedroom, also had to remove the bed fall because it had dog urine on it unfortunately. Basic facilities with small dishwasher, bring your own charcoal tongs, you may also only grill with charcoal. Nice fireplace and firewood. Fantastic large veranda overlooking the river. Farm road definitely needed a 2x4 or 4x4 when it rained, but was exciting and made the stay enjoyable. Most beautiful swimming holes and pools and waterfalls, large fly fishing ponds, no other farm animals so no need to worry if you have city dogs who are not used to farm animals. Was able to explore and walk, paths and grass around houses very nicely and cleanly cut. Nice big oven and gas stove with microwave, basic cutlery, very nice and fast hot water for bath or shower, bathrooms quite newly redone. Really nice stay thank you.
The dirt road from just outside the town to the entrance to the resort is quite rough. The internal roads on the resort definitely need a lot of attention, as they are currently not suitable for ordinary sedan cars.
Roads were horrible; you definitely need a 4x4 or high clearance car. My husband is an avid fly fisherman, he did not even get a bite. The manager was very helpful, but I would certainly recommend that the establishment gives one a choice of wanting to stay in the pet friendly accommodation.

Absolutely stunning area - stunningly maintained. Grass around the cottages are kept short, as well as the pathways to the "swemgat". The water in the trout dams is so clean. We felt right at home from the first second. The farm manager, Gavin, also popped by to ensure that everything was okay. We took our dog with and she enjoyed every minute. There is really lots to do if you are an outdoors person: hiking, swimming in the "swemgat", fishing and mountain biking. Or you can just veg on the stoep and enjoy the scenery with a good book. We will definitely be back.

The landscape is beautiful. The waterfalls, streams and pools are something to experience. Great service from owner and manager. The accommodation is clean and tidy and there is everything that is needed. The fireplace for the cooler evenings is a bonus. Wish we could stay longer.

It was a fantastic weekend getaway in a stunning setting. The fact that we could take our dogs with us was fantastic. The Nest is perfect for 2 people and the dogs were safe in the yard the whole time. We never worried that they might get out. We had a lovely walk and fly fishing. A wonderful peaceful rest weekend! Very neat and clean. Ideal getaway to enjoy silence and beautiful nature. The walk to the falls was lovely. Well-equipped kitchen and nice fireplace for the cold evenings.

The dirt road to get to Field and Stream is terribly bad and neglected. Especially if you arrive at night, no light at the entrance or on the sign, even through the gate to the accommodation is actually only for 4x4 vehicles. I think this should be highlighted on the website and when booking. The house was neat and we had a nice stay, lighting inside the house very poor which made it difficult to read or play cards in the evenings. The cleaners were friendly and fast. The nature beautiful. What a disappointment for our 8 year old boy to have to hear he is not allowed to fish with his gear. The farm manager came regularly to see if everything was in order.
The house is very comfortably and practically laid out and equipped with everything you could possibly need, even a dishwasher! We enjoyed our stay incredibly. The farm manager is very friendly and helpful. We got a flat tire and he personally helped repair our car and help find a new tire. It is the ideal place to relax, fish for trout and enjoy the scenery. We will definitely visit there again!

The road is unfortunately in such a state that you have to travel very slowly. There are big rocks in the road all the way up to Field and Stream. But so tranquil when you reach your destination. It is beautiful and the birds are fantastic.
Field and Stream is really very peaceful and one can forget about the hustle and bustle of the city. The only problem, and it's not Field and Stream's doing, is the dirt road from Dulstroom to the farm. However, we really enjoyed our weekend.
Pet friendly. Really enjoyed being able to walk with our dog. Accommodation is comfortable and everything you need was there. Had no problems.

We and our dogs enjoyed a wonderful New Year at Field and Stream. The accommodation is comfortable, the puppies were safe and we took them for walks. Really pet friendly accommodation. Fence is thick, tiled floors and wonderful scenery. PS: We actually had reasonable internet reception. Bonus.
Beautiful farm with a picturesque view and tons of birds make for a peaceful and blissful getaway. The house is well equipped and our dogs also really enjoyed the farm. The road is a bit bad, but with a tall vehicle quite drivable. With a tall vehicle, the farm can also be fully explored. Lovely break, will come again.
Very, very nice area. The manager was great, popped in every now and then to check if everything was ok. The clay shooting range was a hit, and the trout pools are nice and close to the cottage. Very nice walk to the beautiful mountain pools and waterfalls. Well-equipped and comfortable cottage (Cormorant Cove).

Very peaceful and beautiful scenery. Kevin the caretaker is always there and available to help or give advice about the plays or the fishing. The cottages are well equipped and lack nothing. No cell phone signal or TV is an added bonus.
Place to rest. Step. Book reading! The woof thoroughly enjoyed it and climbed the mountain together. Poor mobile reception, which is bad if you have to work, but that's the idea! To switch off!

The house is spacious and the fireplace burns deliciously and cuddly. The area is well fenced, was not afraid for a moment that my dogs would get out and they ran around beautifully. The bonus, in the kitchen, was the dishwasher.
Really beautiful place that we were able to appreciate and explore, thanks to the capable, helpful manager, Francois. 5 stars for his great service! The road to the farm and up to the house is so to speak impassable for a sedan vehicle which spoils mobility and can make things difficult if you want to go to town for the nice places to eat etc.

A wonderful place, comfortable stay and friendly host. Difficult road and 4x4 definitely recommend. However, we were able to reach them very slowly with our little Tazz.
Field and Stream was so good for all our souls. The scenery and silence is excellent. Would be back there tomorrow if I get the chance. Eagles Crest didn't have a TV and it was so nice to listen to stories on radio again (take 1 with you) and to play cards in front of the fireplace every night. A great location to experience Dullstroom, trout fish and hike. This one of the nicest farms I have ever been on. Various river streams, excellent views, awesome nature. The Trout fishing dams are excellent and the clay pigeon shooting was fun and something for the whole family to remember. The birding was also excellent. We were there for 9 nights and could easily stay longer. Take warm clothes in the event of rain or wind, but definite sun cream for when it's hot and sunny.
