As usual, FG Magalies Park did not disappoint. Truly one of my favorite places to vacation. Good resting place, but still a lot to do.

The accommodation was great. And so are the amenities.
It is a resort with lots to offer - plenty of entertainment and activities for the family. The golf course is great, with lots of wildlife to see. The kids enjoyed the putt putt, tennis courts, splash park, and pools. There is also a small heated indoor pool. The splash park is a bit faded (aesthetically), but the kids enjoyed the slides. The pools are clean and pleasant. There is a bike track around the estate, also good for walks/runs. The chalet was well-equipped, with good quality bedding and towels. Housekeeping was superb. We had an early lunch at the onsite restaurant on departure, which was good, bought drinks at the well-stocked superette but didn't visit the spa/salon. My only real criticism is that there was litter along the roads, noticeable on the drive and runs. A pick-up team should be able to sort it out.

We had an amazing stay at Magalies Park. It is indeed a family resort with lots to do and plenty of play areas for the kids. The best part was the morning walks around the establishment, where you get to see the beauty of nature, the animals, and mountain views. It was just amazing, not forgetting the monkeys. We had a great time and are really coming back.

Luxury hotel room with a jacuzzi. The resort is beautiful and neatly maintained. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious and well priced. Lovely amenities. We really enjoyed the paddle boats on the dam. There was a problem with the jacuzzi. It was dirty and had so much chlorine in it that we got a rash on the first day. We drained it ourselves, cleaned it and filled it again with clean water. The cleaning service only came once in 3 days, made our bed and just threw the wet towels over the edge of the bath and on the chairs. It was quite poor for the almost per day that one pays.
Stay was very nice, please clean the spider webs at the braai area. Spiders keep falling on people. Unit 67, even the light is full of webs.

Very very neat and beautiful place. Just a pity the check-in time is only 15:00 where most places are by at least 14:00. We were there at 14:50 and the place was still not ready. We just waited quietly, but at 15:10 they had finished cleaning and we were ready for our place, but the place still smells of smoke from the previous guests' fires.
Everything was great except the private jacuzzi was dirty. They came to clean it after we asked, but I believe they need to replace the filters. I know of 2 other guests who also complained about this. Other than that the stay was great.
Aircon didn't work, both showers leaked all over the floor, basin in the bathroom unusable, and outside chair broken. The heated pool was filthy and had green algae all around the sides. We checked out at 10 and wanted to go for breakfast and a boat ride but were told we couldn't and had to leave the premises by 10:30 or be excessively fined. Not value for money and a terrible disappointment.

We were at First Group Magalies Park from Monday to Friday. Everything was clean and tidy, from the apartment to the swimming pool and ablution facilities. The resort is well maintained and the staff is friendly. There are many activities for children and adults alike. The highlight is the golf course which is in beautiful condition.
Our stay at First Group Magalies Park was amazing! The park is clean and the staff are friendly. There are multiple pools and attractions for all ages to enjoy. There is also a little shop and a restaurant. The chalet was very clean, well stocked with crockery and cutlery, and air-conditioned, which was amazing. I will definitely go again and will recommend it to anyone who wants some time away.
The service, accommodation and everything was fantastic.
We really enjoyed the few days there. From the "drive through" for check-in to the cottage. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The cottage is well equipped with WiFi everywhere and a generator that kicks in if there is a power outage.

Everything was ready and arranged for occupation and Magaliespar purser very helpful.
If I can add anything, I would like to be able to close the door to the master bedroom more securely, especially since we were up against the border wire. Door did not have a key and closed only sliding lock system that could only be pulled open. Otherwise everything was perfect!
The resort has lots of activities to keep you occupied. Tennis and Padel courts, racket hire, MTB hire, adventure golf, etc., as well as a spa and restaurant.
The only criticism is that the staff members drive carelessly when you walk the paths on foot. We were mainly concerned about the children's safety when the "First Loyalty" vehicle drove past us without considering that there was someone else also using the road.
Activities for the whole family, perfect getaway not too far from the East Rand.
There were a few things that bothered. There was food under the bed from the previous guests. There was dirt next to the tub and soap marks on the wall. Shower pipe was loose against wall. There are windows up in the roof that do not have curtains so when the sun comes up it is immediately light in the room - no late to sleep. But other than that we really enjoyed it.
That peace of mind with friendly staff. It was actually my second time there. Though it was a bit cold it was just perfect.

The chalets are spacious and kept clean by the staff. The facilities are maintained and kept in good condition. The splash park was a highlight for the kids. We were required to pay an additional cost to make use of the facility even though we were guests staying at the resort. However, the cost was per chalet and not per person. There is also an entertainment card that needed to be purchased to make use of the paddle boats, adventure golf, etc., and that is also charged per chalet. An improvement would be the play area for the little kids as there isn't much available. Another area where the resort can improve is on check-in and check-out as there is no flexibility around the times. When checking out, if you want to remain at the resort, you need to pay an amount to remain in the resort and make use of the splash park and pools, which I found to be unreasonable.

Everything was perfect, except service at the restaurant was bad. My children and I played golf, when we were tired, we wanted to go have something to drink and eat. After our drinks we waited 45 minutes just for chips and chicken strips. I then got up to pay the bill for the drinks and said leave the food I can't wait any longer.
We were placed in Unit 56 - really not nice, not recommended, as it is next to their stores. They moved us to unit 38 which was nice. Teen zone for teenagers closes daily at 18:00 - not ideal to keep teenagers busy in the evenings so would not recommend the resort for this reason, but for playing golf it is perfect. Wi-fi at the resort was not great. We used our own.
Was only there for the weekend to relax, but the amenities and the activities were more than enough to keep one busy and relaxing. It was a nice time, but just too little time to be able to do everything.

Would have liked to have stayed for the day in the resort after 10:00 o'clock check out. Paying R100 p/p I found was ridiculous and unnecessary.
If you like golf and tennis it's fun. Was very cold in unit. Even though there is air conditioning that heats up. Our unit's air conditioner in the living room did not heat up well. And the microwave didn't work either.
Loud music on Friday night till very late and again on Saturday afternoon was very unpleasant.

The room's patio and private jacuzzi, plus the "sunset boat cruise" and the lodge's restaurant were for sure the highlights and very relaxing. But there were many disappointments. First of all, the outdoor heated pool was completely freezing, so you couldn't swim and the indoor one was so small and hidden in a "little room", that hardly anyone could even fit in there. Second, they shouldn't put smart TVs in the rooms if the WiFi isn't suitable for it. We couldn't watch anything we wanted in the evenings because everything kept freezing and buffering. Third, they must seriously unit 91 service. There was a squirrel that peed on us in bed every night. Probably 6-8 times. 2 times on our faces and all the other times on the bed. I didn't rest at all. I couldn't sleep because I was too afraid it would pee on me again. When we took it up with the "housekeeping" they only came to change the bedding every day and told us that we were just the unfortunate guests who were accommodated in that unit. They must seriously service this unit and try to get that squirrel out of the roof, because it is very bad! You can just see the pee and poo marks on the roof panels. Fourth, my husband was so excited to be able to play golf and I specifically indicated by email what dates we were coming. But when we got there they told my husband he couldn't play golf because it was fully booked but I emailed a lady at the pro shop a week before we arrived and mentioned our dates and that my husband wants to play golf. Lastly, they just need to set up the rooms better for BBQ. Like maybe more than just 1 appliance provided for barbecuing.

The privacy is great, room extras e.g. the heated towel rails really added the extra "touch" that made the whole visit so much more special.

So much to do.
The room was nice and clean, plenty of space and comfortable sofas and bed with plenty of blankets for the winter.
We had a good time in the spacious visiting area and slept well in the luxurious rooms.
Where do I start, so the unit is well appointed with everything you can think of. The problem is if there is no electricity then multiple things mean nothing and you pay R1900 for a bed alone. The following could not be used because there was no electricity: TV, jaccuzi, aircorns, lights, floor heaters, towel warmers, all we could use was the boiler. All in the middle of winter, thank goodness there was an extra blanket. Not squeamish at all and will never waste my money like that again. Especially not with my new partner who I wanted to spoil.
Our unit failed to close which we reported on day 1. When we called again day 2 to report it again we were unexpectedly told to move to another unit and that we were booked that way. I already inquired before arrival why my reservation only shows 2 days but was told by reception that we were booked for 3 days. The debt was first posted on the website I referred to in my email. We were not informed about it before. It was disappointing to pack everything up in a hurry and unpack it again only to pack it all up again the next day. Everything was looking for the last day and we basically felt like the whole day 3 was spoiled. I wouldn't recommend it to people without a timeshare. Priority is given to timeshare owners. The second unit was cleaned as quickly as possible for us and we located our 2 bags that got lost in the harwar for which I am grateful.
Place is very nice and tidy. Very nice for family with children. The general staff at the gate and on the grounds are very friendly and helpful. The staff at reception make you clearly understand that they are doing you a huge favour. Day 1 they sent people out to us to help with a request, well I'm still waiting for those people to reach us. On the last day when I checked out I was informed we had half an hour to leave the resort and I should have seen it on my confirmation email. They could not prove that this was communicated to us in advance on the confirmation email or even any form of communication. They just shrugged and said it was the website's fault and "That's how it works everywhere". Would definitely like to go again, but will avoid reception as far as I can.

Rooms were well kept and clean. Pools were lovely and service was great overall. The water park slides can do with some upkeep as the slides were a bit dry going down. Overall an amazing holiday. Loved that the animals just parked off right outside our bedroom.

I can definitely recommend Magaliespark. The whole resort is clean and tidy. Chalet linen, furniture and kitchenware in excellent condition. Golf course very neat, and it's nice around the impala. also on the track. Restaurant food was delicious, and had a good variety. Prices are also fair. The entertainment for the kids is of the highest quality! My little girl especially enjoyed the water park and the pedal boats. We also visited the spa, and the spa treatments were lovely. Too bad they only had mint oil for massage and not the other oils that were also advertised. The location of the resort is great. I felt safe. It's a place where you can still send your children to the store alone to buy an ice cream without worrying about something going on. We really enjoyed the swan and ducks too! I can definitely recommend Magaliespark, and we will definitely be going there again soon!

The children aged 12 and 8 had so many activities to choose from. They loved it.
Check-out Covid rules are not explained to people at all. Everywhere says book out 10:00 and leave premises by 13:00. But when we handed in the key at 9:40 they said due to Covid we had to go immediately and couldn't stay until 13:00. Couldn't do half of the activities. Got half a day less from them.
Security personnel were weak. People in 165 made noise until after 00:00. Called security 2 times to silence them. Security came out but the noise continued. I had to get up at 2am for the Om Die Dam ultra marathon. Did not get any sleep. Extremely pathetic!
Magalies Park is relaxing and quiet, but there's a lot to do. To name a few, the spa, swimming areas, tennis, golf course, library, etc. The owner of the restaurant was very friendly and the food was delicious.

We stayed for 4 nights. The resort is fairly big and as we are from Canada and did not have any transportation we arranged with the resort to rent a couple golf carts. It was great as other members of our family's chalet was quite a ways away. We enjoyed it so much and decided to stay another night and extended the golf cart rental as well, however, on our last night the pro shop staff came and took our carts while we were not there without any notice. It left a very bitter taste in our month as we would not have extended our stay if we were told that we could not keep the golf carts. For that reason we would not be returning to this resort. Everything else was good.

We were very impressed with the reception at Magalies Park, as well as the friendly customer service they provide, not only upon your arrival, but throughout your stay. All the employees, from cleaners to management staff are very friendly and accommodating. There are various sports facilities that you can participate in that cater to young and old. The resort offers a very peaceful atmosphere and is ideal for just relaxing, away from the daily city traffic and life.

Although we only stayed 1 night, it was an experience at Magalies Park. There are many activities especially for our 9 and 10 year old boys. The accommodation was clean and practical. We did have trouble with the booking from the website to Magalies Park which affected our check in, but the staff at Magalies Park were very helpful. If you play golf, feel free to spend the night at Magalies Park!
The resort is beautiful. Lots of things to do with the kids. The unit that we stayed in, however was not ideal. The sleeper couches were not comfortable for the young kids. The roof leaked when it rained. The ceiling inside the unit had huge spider webs hanging from it. At night when everything was quiet you could hear that there was something crawling or walking around inside the roof. That was very unsettling. There are other expenses that we were not informed about, like the Waterpark and the games card that you have to buy and then still put down a deposit every time you want to play a different game. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Accommodation was in smaller units. Cats bothered a bit - couldn't leave any window or door open even if we were having a braai. Had a good time.

We chose Magalies Park for the hot water swimming pool outside, as well as the play area for small children. I feel they should have informed us ahead of time that the pool will be closed for repairs and that we will not be able to use the play area due to the fact that they upgrade it.
The facilities are good, but the chalet we had necessitated the use of a car to all the amenities which you don't want at a resort.
The monkeys are an irritation as you can't leave the windows or doors open, the mattress had stain marks on which need attention, otherwise a pleasant stay.

We really enjoyed our time at the resort and will definitely come again. The price per unit per night may be a bit more expensive than other 3-star resorts, but once you're there, it feels like 4-star! And there is so much to do at the resort that you almost don't want to drive out of the gate.

Everything is really beautiful, clean and tidy. The houses are not crowded together and you really feel as if you can rest here.

We had a very nice stay, although after 2 days we moved to another unit, which was a bit inconvenient. They did offer to help us with the move, and had no problem with us storing our luggage and perishables in the new unit before we could move in. The second unit was then larger with underfloor heating, which beat the freezing cold.
We can't wait to go back again for a getaway. The chalet is beautiful and clean. There is so much for everyone to do. The restaurant's food is of the best quality! Definitely 10/10!

Once you enter into the estate, a person feels a million miles away from everything, huddled at the foot of the Magaliesburg mountains and on the banks of the Magaliesburg River. Excellent pool entertainment, and tons to do.
Entertainment closes at 18h00. After that there is nothing to do for young adults. Entertainment staff unfriendly. Condom wrappers found in drawer on 1st day. Mentioned to supervisor. Showers not sealed and leaking. Drinks at restaurant not good. Pineapple juice sour. Worst mojito. Waiters very friendly and helpful. Reception staff and cleaner friendly and helpful. Entertainment staff rude and make you feel like you are imposing. Overall very nice stay.
We were unhappy about the rules that the resort has regarding with picnic baskets etc. You may not sit next to the main pool with your picnic basket because you have to order from the restaurant. I would also appreciate if there were more signs around the pool indicating the rules. There was only one sign indicating the rule and we overlooked it. We were quite embarrassed when we were asked to please to move because we had a picnic basket with us. We moved to the grass section which seems to be for people who have their own snacks. Afterwards, our children decided to go to the Waterpark. We packed up and took everything there just to get there and again no picnic baskets allowed. Our unit is very far from the main pool and Waterpark. This means you have to go back to your unit and store everything before you can go to the water park. This is completely unreasonable to me. The accommodation says from the start that it is self-catering, so you take your own food and soft drinks with you. Especially with 2 kids. But it felt to us like everywhere you are forced to order from the restaurant so you can look after your kids around the pool.

We like going to Magalies Park. A bit pricey for 1 bedroom units for R2120 for two nights. There are plenty activities and one can really say you are well rested and relax after a weekend.
We enjoyed the golf. The service was fantastic. My children thoroughly enjoyed the water park. There were a few teaspoons short in our room. The toilet brush holder was broken off from the wall. It made me cringe. Just like the curly hair under the bed. It was a lot of sifting. The one wall below was dark brown so dirty it was. The canopy outside above the braai was also dirty and could also do with a broom. Glasses were dirty put back in the cupboard. I should have washed it before we could have used it. I will come again. The cleanliness left much to be desired. Of all the First Resort destinations, this one's cleanliness was very disappointing. I expected much more. But it's a nice place if you can try to overlook all those things.

My children had horse riding finals in Brits so we made a weekend of it. Children enjoyed it and were relaxed before they had to drive.
The resort is fantastic. The chalet is perfect for self catering for a short family stay. The location of the unit on the resort is however really bad. Right next to the main road. Early morning heavy duty vehicles and motorbikes made it impossible to sleep after 05:00 in the morning. The evenings from 22:00 loud music from some sort of club or disco prevented us from getting sleep also. The noise levels made it a bitter sweet experience. Next time we will request to stay in the first phase development on the resort.

When we arrived our booking was not on their system, but they sorted it out and we had a very nice holiday.
This is probably the 4th time we have holidayed at Magalies Park and will return many more times. What a nice, safe place for my 8 year old, it's his favorite vacation spot to be. So much that keeps him and us busy. Nice jogging in the mornings and then all the activities throughout the day! And what's better than grilling a piece of meat in the evening? Next time we may only have to stay 2 weeks!
Magaliespark is very well managed and maintained. The facilities are excellent and there is plenty to do. Very close and nice for a little break from the city.

Untidy apartment. Bad lighting in the bedroom.
When we checked in at reception there was no place reserved for us, one of the receptionists scrambled around to get us a place. I played in a golf day and was only looking for a place to sleep for 2 nights, think the costs at R1050/night off season, mid week are way too expensive. We will not rush back. I think for family holidays, maybe yes, there is a lot to do for the kids.

We booked through LekkeSlaap and got the necessary info back - service was excellent LekkeSlaap. But when we got to the resort there was no record of our booking which made us feel uncomfortable. The lady on duty at Magalies appointed a room for us after I showed her our proof of payment.
Magalies Park is a wonderful destination to just enjoy yourself or to go and rest. The facilities available are clean and neat and there is more than enough to keep you busy. The restaurant is also affordable with a delicious variety of meals. Thank you so much for a lovely time.

Reception was not very pleasant. The resort had no record of my booking. When it was finally sorted, everything went smoothly.
We go to Magaliespark quite often, but have to say that some of the staff are rude. (They probably need a vacation too.) There's a new "Waterworld" for kids that they've been testing. (We liked the Elephant bucket that pours water.) I expected more from the new float, Kolgans II. The 18-hole golf course is very beautiful. Just don't hit a ball crooked because then it's gone! I would recommend it to anyone with or without children. Finally: the wedding venue premises are very beautiful.
