The property is situated on the mountainside with a view, please be aware that there are steps onto the property and down to the flat, although they are not too burdensome. There are about 34 steps in one grouping with landings and 11 in another, which may be challenging for guests with limited mobility. The property is not wheelchair friendly.
We offer our guests complete protection from load shedding with inverter and battery back-up which ensures that the lights, TV, Wi-Fi, fridge, microwave and all other appliances will carry on working even during extended power outages.
It is a modern, compact, self-catering garden flat, with a separate entrance. It includes a bedroom with a double bed, a lounge with a single sleeper couch, en-suite bathroom with a shower and a full kitchen with most facilities, such as a washing machine, hob & oven, microwave, and fridge. It has internet via WiFi and full package DStv HD satellite television, including Showmax streaming.
There is a quiet, small, sheltered entertainment area with a braai, overlooking the sea as well as the mainly indigenous garden. Well away from busy traffic, the quiet peace of the site is only broken by the sound of the waves coming up from the sea below. Access to the beach and catwalk is 10 minutes by foot, 5 mins by car.
The owners live on the premises and while they respect their guests' privacy, they do also welcome interaction with international and local visitors and can offer some unique additional experiences. One of the owners is a certified, qualified wine guide with excellent knowledge of the local wine routes. He is willing, for a small fee, to accompany you on any trip into the wine regions to make sure you get the most out of the experience. The other owner is also highly qualified in the field of tourism and geography, with extensive local knowledge that most professional tour guides would be envious.
Nearby activities include fishing, cycling, bird watching, swimming, mountain biking, and swimming.

22 guests' feedbackWe had a lovely, relaxing time.
George and the cats were super friendly and great. The accommodation was just what was needed - super convenient, and waking up to the view was nourishment for the soul. Highly recommended!
The stay at Fisherman's Watch was pleasant and the surroundings are very very peaceful. The people on site are friendly and happy to help if you need help. Just the bunch of stairs was a nice workout.
Consider upgrading some furniture. This will only make the place even more popular.
Comfortable and beautiful view.
Excellent, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit Fisherman's Watch again. Thank you for your hospitality.
When arriving back at night the stairs were difficult to navigate without adequate lighting, navigating steps were made worse in the rain.
The host George was very friendly, unfortunately, the furniture wasn't up to standard.
The housing unit is well equipped with everything needed for comfortable self-catering accommodation. Good value for money. George (owner) was very helpful and friendly. Good accommodation option for about 2-3 days in Vishoek.
Very clean and tidy with a very nice view.
The house is ideally located with a nice view! One cannot ask for more!
I enjoyed my stay, it was very relaxing. Really friendly host, I would recommend the establishment to others.
The hosts are lovely people and very helpful. Fisherman's Watch has installed solar panels etc. - so a very big bonus is that when power outages take place the Wi-Fi etc. is not affected. We are a middle aged couple, but found the steps down to the unit very steep.
Wonderful stay, great place.
The only problem I can recall was the bed, I recommend that the owners get a new bed.
Very peacefully and quiet, with an exceptional, stunning view, would have experienced more of the surrounding walks but unfortunately the weather didn't play along. As for our host, very friendly.
Friendly host and hostess. Made us feel at home. Very neat and tidy.
See stars.
Everything about the location, the facilities, the view etc was perfect as well as wonderful hosts. I would highly recommend Fisherman's Watch to anyone who is keen to stay in the area.
I would go back again anytime. Full DStv channels, washing machine and clean bathroom were a big plus.
We stayed 6 days. The apartment is fully equipped and quite modern. Everything was immaculately clean with extra cleaning products available and even a washing machine which came in very handy. Would love to stay there again.
Comfortable, well organised, neat and tidy. The views of False bay are fantastic.
