I had the most peaceful, comfortable, wonderful 2-night getaway in this charming cottage. It had absolutely everything I could possibly have needed, and the hosts are warm and gracious. Highly recommended - particularly if quietness is a luxury for you. Sitting at the little table outside in the crisp winter morning, drinking a steaming cup of coffee and watching the birds was so restorative and special. Will definitely return.
Romantic getaway for two. Lovely private cottage, exquisitely appointed. Lovely quiet breakaway.
The booking was for my daughter and son-in-law. They were absolutely delighted and can't say enough about the hospitality and humanity of David and Annelee! It was barely a 35 minute drive from Pretoria, dirt road was in good condition. Perfect for a getaway to just be.
The place just makes me feel so nostalgic. We were so comfortable and slept so well. I will definitely visit Five Pebbles again! Also, the fact that it is 30-40 minutes from Pretoria is a lot of bonus points!
The stay was excellent. Nice and private, with everything we needed.
Looking for a quiet getaway close to the city? Five Pebbles on Piece of Africa offers this and more! Thank you Annelee!
Good destination that is well equipped. Very clean and tidy and the host and wife are helpful and friendly.
The hostess and her husband were extremely helpful. The house was very clean, well furnished and with an eye for detail nothing was needed. It is particularly quiet there and a few species of antelope were spotted. I would recommend the place to those who need woodland, fire and tranquility.
Had a great stay, the silence in the forest did wonders for us. Very clean and tidy, house fully equipped with everything you need. Very friendly owners.
Was peaceful and quiet but did not get value for money. Power was off every morning from 3 to 6. I couldn't use the fan all the time even if it was very hot. Water was off between 4 and 6 in the afternoon, which was not mentioned in the ad.
Annelee and David were very helpful. Good communication before departure and during stay. Cozy cottage is perfect for two people - the silence is fantastic.
The hospitality was amazing. Thank you for the fellowship. Picasso was an unexpected bonus. We hope to return soon.
What a lovely place. This is a perfect getaway close to the city, nestled in bushveld silence. Very private.
Beautiful place and excellent location. Had a great time relaxing! Will definitely stay a little longer next time and the owners make you feel right at home.
David and Annelee's hospitality is unparalleled. We had a wonderful time on the beautiful stoep, while the rain fell gently on the transparent day. The cottage is lovely, clean and full of surprises. The atmosphere is peaceful, blissful and the silence wonderful. We will definitely visit Five Pebbles on Piece of Africa again on a weekend and hopefully meet Blessed up close.
Little heaven on earth. Had a great time, felt very welcome, everything was just perfect. Thank you very much for everything. See you again soon.
Very well rested. House is beautiful and has everything needed. Owners very helpful and friendly.
Annelee and David are wonderful people, friendly, helpful and pleasant. This is a must for couples who like to spend time together. We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary there, it was great!
Wonderfully quiet. One can recharge one's batteries here. Second visit in two years. Definitely not the last time. David and Annalee had been so hospitable again. Thank you guys. God willing we will be back.
Wonderful house in the bushveld.
Location ideal, close enough, owners welcomed us in a friendly manner, and followed up to check if everything was still in order, everything that is needed, even though it rained we could comfortably sit on the deck and enjoy nature.
Sal weer bespreek. Wat ’n lekker, ontspanne naweek.
The owners have a beautiful unit that is clearly their pride and joy. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home! They also saw us off when we left.
People are friendly, safety is there, house is neat and far healthier than the rest. Had a great time.
Unfortunately a rainy weekend was chosen. Everything was good, but when it rains the place is a bit small. No canopy or shelter to be outside when it rains.
From the welcoming, the privacy, peace and tranquility, facilities - everything was wonderful. We will highly recommend Five Pebbles to everyone.
Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful place. It was so peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed our holes out. We were welcomed so kindly and we immediately felt at home. Anyone who just wants to get out of the busy city should definitely stay there, the beautiful nature with the wildlife that roams around in between just makes you feel peaceful. We will definitely stay there again in the future. Your cottage is also furnished with everything you need for a quick getaway. It was a 10/10 from us. See you again in the future.
Five Pebbles delivered everything we needed after a 5 month long lockdown.
Nice tranquil bushveld hike that makes your soul calm again.
Owners are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Chalet is very well furnished. Will definitely go again for a breath of fresh air at Five Pebbles.
We had a very pleasant stay at 5 Pebbles. Annelee and David are good hosts and made us feel very welcome. We are enthusiastic walkers and birders. Unfortunately there was not much in the way of walking (only about 2km), but there were quite a few birds and a few buck. It is surprisingly far from Dinokeng (40min drive) due to the dirt roads. It's close as the crow flies, but not by road. Once the trees have their leaves there will be nice shade to sit under. We found it very hot sitting outside with no cover, but at least it didn't rain while we were there.
Thank you to David and Annelee for the opportunity to enjoy the tranquil scenery. Thank you also for your hospitality. My daughter and I were very privileged to see giraffes twice, about 50 meters from the house. The cottage was very neat and clean. Would recommend it to anyone who just wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Would definitely recommend the Five Pebbles.
Here is a place to really unwind and move over to "slow time". The quaint little house in the bush offers everything a tired body, mind and soul needs. Situated in a very secluded spot it feels as if one owns the universe. Everything was perfect along with hosts that would have gone out of their way to make everything comfortable. Thanks Anelleen for the succulent you gave us out of your small nursery. We shall definitely be back soon.
My cousin and I enjoyed it very much and enjoyed our stay in the middle of the forest. The chalet is painstakingly neat and has everything one needs for a weekend away from the city's rush. Annelee and David were very hospitable and made us feel very at home. Their service was excellent! I will definitely go there again and it's only about 30 km from the city.
If you want to get out of the city you don't have to drive so far then this little gem is just the place to go! Very clean and neat. Quiet and peaceful. This is truly in the bush. We felt totally rested out when we left Sunday.
Very kindly received by David and Annalee, you feel right at home. The house is painstakingly neat and has everything you could need for a weekend. The place is close to the city, but secluded enough to make you feel you are definitely outside the city! We had a great time relaxing and really enjoyed the stay. Will definitely go again.
Annalee and David are the friendliest host and hostess. The place is very beautiful, clean and tidy. Beautiful view. If you want to rest, it's the place for you.
What a beautiful piece of Africa indeed! It is definitely all you need to relax, to take a breath, to reunite and to celebrate the beauty of love and creation. We enjoyed every single moment - from listening to only the sound of the busy August winds, hearing the jackal's howl, time spent in the cosy, comfortable, beautiful little house and taking peaceful walks on the footpaths throughout the farm. The lovely hosts, Annelee and David went out their way to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. The highlight of our weekend was the boma area which was set up beautifully with a set table, kerosene lanterns softly lighting up the area and a bonfire already burning upon our arrival. Thank you Annelee and David for sharing this amazing space with us!
Thank you Annelee and David. It was truly a pleasure to be able to stay at Five Pebbles, thank you for the neat little place with everything you need. We will definitely come to you again.
It is a beautiful place in the bush but only 30 minutes from Pretoria. It is wonderfully quite and safe. Neat and clean. A perfect place if you need break from the city.
Very quiet and peaceful, clean and comfortable. Very pleasant hosts.
We were very kindly received by David and Annelie. The place is very neat and clean. Everything one needs for a quick getaway. Here you get calm again after a week's rush at work. It feels like you are in the middle of Africa with the roar of the Lions not far in the evening and the screams of the Jackal and Blue Wildebeest that roam there. Very nice braai facilities and then you also get another bag of wood for free. It was an incredibly nice place and nice and private. We will definitely visit there again.
We really enjoyed the weekend at Five Pebbles, we just relaxed, enjoyed nature and each other's company! It is ideal for a romantic weekend away in the forest, the owners are extremely friendly and willing to help you if you need something or something is not right. Everything was in order and perfect when we got there. The Saturday evening fire with the lightning in the distance was so beautiful!
The night of the super moon, the blue moon en the blood moon, the privilege was ours to view it from Five Pebbles on Piece of Africa. We had a clear unobstructed view from where the whole beautiful drama, unfolded itself. Five Pebbles on Piece of Africa is the perfect place to unwind, to find yourself in the quietude and the beautiful bush veld. The accommodation blends perfectly with its surroundings and everything you could need was supplied. The hosts went out of their way to welcome us and were available should we have any questions or needed anything, but also granted us our very much needed privacy. This is a place to escape from the business of life, to retrieve your soul and to return rested and renewed. It is a rare hide away to which we will return time and again.
Five Pebbles is clean, tidy, beautiful, private, quiet and peaceful. Everything you need is available and the guests are extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely visit there again soon!
Will visit again. It was very nice.
We were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful house and all the amenities it offers. Annelee and David immediately made us feel at home and made sure we had everything we needed for the weekend. This is truly a must do if you just want to get away from the feeling of the city and get close to nature again to recharge your batteries. We can definitely recommend Five Pebbles on Piece of Africa to anyone who just wants to get quiet and rest.
Beautiful, quiet getaway to find each other again. Very neat, clean accommodation.
The staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the quiet surroundings and will recommend it to others. The facilities were very clean.
The owners are wonderful people who go out of their way to help. The place is a true breakaway in nature. The starry sky is something to behold.
We were very warmly and kindly received. The accommodation is excellent, clean, tidy and the view is very beautiful. It's the right place to just break away and be peaceful. Will visit there again for sure.
We had a wonderful rest for body, soul and spirit. Analee and David immediately made us feel at home. The cottage was "spotless" with everything we needed for the few days. We were on our own in the woods and could get quiet and just spend time resting, thinking and praying. We needed it so bad.
Thank you for a wonderful getaway.
We had a wonderful rest, thank you very much!
Had a fantastic day with my husband celebrating 12 years together. A very private and secluded place in the nature. It was nice for us to have this place and only it is only 1 hour's drive from Johannesburg. Felt like we were in another province. Amazing weekend we had.
The view over the bush is great. Bring a hammock. Leave your electronic gadgets at home. Loved the silence and feeling of being the only people on earth.
Just what one needs when one wants to escape from the city.
What an awesome place, with such friendly hosts. The place feels like you are miles away from civilization, it's peaceful and the cottage is magnificently decorated and equipped.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Leave technology at home and spend quality time with your loved one. Very neat and clean chalet and friendly service.
The cottage is in the middle of the woodland with lots of privacy. It is also equipped with all the necessities for a weekend away. It is very neat and ideal for a quick getaway from the city. Also close to Cullinan.
Many thanks to our friendly hosts Annelee and David, for an unforgettable weekend of peace and quiet in nature. The chalet is extremely clean and tidy, private, with good facilities and you lack nothing. We would definitely recommend it as a favorite getaway destination, for peace of mind and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thank you very much again!
Very hospitable people. As a result of a court case, we couldn't decide if we should make the booking or not, she was willing to keep it for us until after 2 o'clock in the afternoon. After a very stressful 2 years and a week in court we searched for a place where we could just celebrate our wedding anniversary, as well as my birthday, didn't want to be between other people or travel long distance. That's what we got. Thank you very much.
