The family apartment was spacious, clean, and had everything you'll need to enjoy your stay. The view was absolutely stunning, and walks along the river are a must! One small drawback was that there weren't many kitchen utensils to make your own food, and it has a gas oven, not an electric. Other than that, it's a wonderful place to stay if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.

Feedback from the host was a bit delayed. Remote from the DStv packed up after the first night and could not enjoy the channels. The host could have provided fans in the rooms as it was very hot and no "AC" was available. To date I have not received my breakage deposit. Although we didn't have a bad time, the pictures of the place were misleading. Thank you very much.

I would like to stay there when I come to Velddrif, close to shops like Spar and OK Bazaar. Food is value for money, eaten out almost every night. Can walk along the sea or along the river, nearby at Port Owen.

Flaminkevlei Waterfront apartments are a neat and spacious place to stay with a beautiful view of the Berg River. It is ideal for holiday accommodation and is centrally located for visiting other West Coast locations. Walking along the river is beautiful in view of the birdlife.

Everything we expected.
The unit is spacious, fully tastefully furnished and the facilities excellent. The view is magnificent, quite possibly the best in the whole area. It's great to see and faintly hear the fishermen and enjoy the Berg River and moorings.
Views are breathtaking.
The view is great, it was a bit warm, but it's January. In the morning and in the evening you can go for a nice walk, all the way to Port Owen. One cannot swim there, the tide is strong and the river is very muddy. The apartment is comfortable, if they could add some extra utensils to grill with. The TV laughed a lot. Difficult to find what one is looking for. Otherwise, thanks, had a great time.
The location is amazing. In the mornings you see how the birds go out and come back again late in the afternoon. Rich in bird life. We got really friendly West Coast treatment from start to finish. The host Willem was a "treat" always time for a joke or two.
The place met all our expectations. The room was spacious, luxurious and modernly furnished. The mattress was lovely to sleep on, and the bathroom facilities first class. My wife would have appreciated a mirror in the bedroom as she couldn't see how to dry her hair. The braai in the living area is a big plus, because it heats the room and from there I can enjoy the beautiful view over the peaceful marsh. Speaking of peace of mind: we wanted it, and got it. No noise, passing or driving by people and vehicles that bothers at all. Although we were upgraded to a more expensive option due to a double booking, I would still recommend the place to someone who just wants to "chill" because that's what my wife wanted.

There is a veranda where you can barbecue and sit all day and admire the Bergrivier with its beautiful nature. Relaxation for soul and body. Kids will definitely enjoy it just as much. You could watch the fishermen, walk far and just admire. Would definitely recommend Flaminkevlei Waterfront.
We'll be back. Our only problem was that the geyser didnt seem to be working, which resulted in us wasting water trying to get hot water.
A delightful 1.5-bed apartment with superb outdoor space overlooking the Berg River and the fishing boats. Sun on the stoep from late morning till the sunsets. The lounge kitchen has everything you would require with a full DStv package thrown in. The food and service at Charlie's Brewhouse were excellent. Would certainly return.

I will definitely put in a salad bowl and also a bowl for roast meat. The TV in room 2 did not work and Willem could not help us either.
The unit (Nr2) we booked did not offer us the necessary privacy and soundproofing that we would have desired. Our braai and patio chairs were right next to the bathroom window of the couple who booked next to us. Their bedroom window was also on our porch side. So we never felt comfortable barbecuing and sitting outside. Unfortunately, we hit it in such a way that you could hear everything that was going on in their bathroom and bedroom.
Asked if I could clean my car as it was dirty. Only provided 5l of water for car wash. Was very unfit, and upset my wife very much with way he handled car wash. He did more damage than washing the car because there was not enough water.

The unit is stylishly decorated and nicely furnished for self-catering. The stoep offers one a vantage point for the birds and playful seals and protection from the wind. The sailors who come to fish harder and children who shout loudly create movie pictures! We were well informed and warmly received. We were on a road trip for over 3 weeks and I didn't want to move on from this place. It was lovely. Just two suggestions: I missed a mirror near a power plug and the pan has seen better days.

What a pleasant experience, the location is the best. When you open the sliding door, it is the water and birds that greet you, then here and there a person and a friendly wave. We were there during the week, maybe it's a bit busier on weekends. Actually, you can just sit and enjoy all day on that lovely porch. The unit was spacious, comfortable with everything you might need, the indoor braai was especially a bonus because the evenings were cold and also the hot sheet to warm your bed, thank you for that. The safe parking is also a big plus. We are going to recommend it to everyone and come again.
It actually looks like the pictures as advertised and is very clean and comfortable. Willem is a friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful host and his side-kick, Bollie, the friendly 4-legged furfriend, kept my son entertained. Everything works and the kitchen has everything that you may need. Take their advice and ensure you bring binoculars - you won't regret it. The birdlife is simply amazing! I'd recommend Flaminkelvlei Waterfront to anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature and recharge your soul. Would like to return at some stage.

The unit is spacious and tidy with everything you need. The putting out is unbeatable. All I can mention for improvement is that the outer wooden railings are a bit neglected and could do with a layer of varnish.
The host was pleasant and helpful without being obsequious.
The indoor braai, safe location of the parking, comfortable beds together with a special view of the river life and sunsets, make the stay special. Willem makes sure that everything goes well and his friendly dog, Bollie comes to say hello often. Unfortunately, the blare of music from cars in the parking area in front of the apartment can spoil the tranquility from time to time. Will definitely stay there again.
The accommodation isn't equipped for warmth but we liked the indoor braai, full DStv and Netflix. Bird watching in the area is always good. The thousand Cape Cormorants that fly by morning and night are amazing.

Everything in the apartment was very clean and in good working order. Attention must be paid to the privacy between apartment 1 and 2. Especially on the porch. This caused some awkwardness with the neighbors. Apartment needs a tongs, broom and shovel please.

The apartment is very well equipped with everything we needed. Our car was safely parked under a canopy every night and given the time of year we were there, we really enjoyed the indoor barbecue.

One of the best locations in Velddrif. Close to shops, but right on the estuary with a view of wildlife and piers. Willem, the host, is a lovely accommodating host.

Neat, tasteful, everything you need in the kitchen. However, was disappointed with the layout of the room as it adjoins the unit next door and although there was a porch for our unit, it was not demarcated from the one next door. It took a toll on our privacy. The unit next door's bathroom and bedroom window look out onto our unit's porch - a bit of a treat for them and us! We suggest that a redoubt be erected between the 2 units. We would have rather paid more for more privacy if we had known this beforehand. Would definitely stay there again - just in a different unit.

We had a lovely 2 day break at Flaminkevlei Waterfront during the first week in January 2019. Stunning view, beautiful flat. Just very hot during the afternoon. I would recommend a fan for the summer months.

Our family had a lovely, relaxing Easter weekend by waking up to a fresh breeze every morning and then watching the sunset from the balcony every evening. The apartment was well equipped, except for a iron, which could be something you could look into. The bedding was lovely and comfortable, the TV channels had all the kids programs which they loved and the WiFi worked throughout our stay. The apartment is shared with another 2 apartments, but it's so private, we hardly saw the other people during our 3 day stay. We also had the opportunity to go fishing for the first time as a family on the river, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Rina really added a personal touch to our stay by giving us a Spar gift card to use from our second day onward. Willem welcomed us and made us feel comfortable when we arrived and also wished us well when we left. I would definitely recommend this accommodation if you are looking for a neat, clean, safe break away from the city life because it is close to the lake to relax but still central enough to the shops in case you need something, etc.

We stayed here for the Berg 2017 and it was really the most fantastic accommodation I could have booked.
The units are spacious, modern, clean, tidy and tastefully furnished. Friendly reception and a host who makes sure his guests have everything they need. The kitchen equipment can be upgraded, and a spiel at wall plug for the quick hair blowing would be handy. Otherwise, it's an incredibly nice place to unpack and rest and we'll definitely be back!
Lovely beds, fantastic pillows, fantastic view over the estuary. My gripe is that the TV package could be broadened - I do not want to watch local content and news. I enjoyed the fact that the TV was a smart TV and I had brought my hi speed router with and was able to watch YouTube on the TV instead of my laptop.
