98 guests' feedbackThe accommodation is very comfortable, neat and tidy with all the amenities needed. The ground staff are extremely helpful and always on hand. We loved the hot tub and the river view was so relaxing and peaceful.
The staff on the ground were very helpful, friendly and accommodating - even after hours. It was very calming, quiet, and well enjoyed. The one negative I can say is that our unit was not able to provide us with water on Sunday as the water pipes had burst, forcing us to change our Sunday plans. Oh, and no door in the toilet. It was a bit uncomfortable as always one person had to go out of the cabin.
We enjoyed it very much. Was a bit cold but was very nice. Unfortunately, fish did not bite in the cold season.

We had a great stay, thank you. Neat, clean and easy to find. Very nice view of the river and nice for "fly fishing" when the river is not in flood. Very helpful when we let them know we might be getting there late. Also helped very quickly at the geyser when the hot tap only gave cold water. Cute emus and ostriches that also walk around there and are very curious. Road there is generally very good, but can be made worse by heavy rain.

Second time here, lovely place. Some small things could make it better. The mattress in the unit has seen better days; it is warped and doesn't make for a good night's sleep. Some rubbish lying around the unit from previous visitors - old party balloons. A clean-up of areas should be done more regularly.
We were surprised by the place, it was much more than we expected. The location is excellent and close enough to Paris if you need to go into town. Just be aware that the dirt road can be rough in places. Unfortunately, reception was not available all weekend and we would have liked to have more information about activities and the spa. Furthermore, the place is excellent and we would definitely recommend it.

Accommodation at Fly Fishing Paradise is neat and clean. Would install better lights in the kitchen, as well as ceiling fans. Overall, the premises need some TLC. The river view is overgrown with the trees and we had to ask that they empty our outside ash bin daily. Site needs a good cleaning. Pool and Hottub was a winner.

It's a pretty decent place for scenery and activities next door, but the cabins are not clean at all, the coffee was expired, and the host never picks up her phone. But there are really nice animals and fun things to do next door.
It was an awesome place to visit, and the owners and staff were always available. A bonus is the spa, which is also on the premises, and the treatments were excellent.

This was the second time I have stayed at Fly Fishing Paradise and I will definitely go again. We were a group of 7 who went on a weekend break. The environment is very nice, clean and peaceful. The houses are well equipped for load shedding with emergency lights and a gas stove.

Fly Fishing Paradise is a beautiful Vall River getaway. We stayed in the Katima hut which is nestled in the bush. The outdoor kitchen is fully equipped with all amenities. The fireplace really came in handy on cold winter nights. Would definitely stay again!

Thank you very much, Fly Fishing Paradise, we had a great stay. The shower drain was blocked but the handyman attended to it immediately. We are really very impressed with the friendly service of all staff and the owner. Sipho in particular is a stalwart.

Really really relaxing and beautiful place. The cabins are well maintained and actually really warm, we loved the wood fired hot tub and the animals roaming around. If you're looking for a relaxing break away, book this place. We stayed in the Rundu hut and would again anytime.
We stayed at Flyfishing Paradise for a short Christmas getaway. Beautiful and relaxing. The hot tub was a hit for all! The only sidenote, for a house that sleeps 8, the fridge/freezer is quite small - if you're a family like ours that likes to cook and feast, make sure to bring your cooler boxes (ice is readily available on site).
The cabin has all the essentials you will need for a relaxing stay, including a private hot tub. It is basic, but still has a quaint, romantic feel to it and it's perfect for a weekend getaway.

Staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend an outside covered area at the braai (when it rains) and a rubbish bin. Cabous Unit is comfy and spacious and ideally located (separate) - absolutely loved it! Appreciated hot water showers and back-up solar lights. Loved the animals and enjoyed the frequent visits from the emus. Already planning our next visit!
We will definitely visit Fly Fishing Paradise again and recommend it to anyone. The environment and atmosphere is blissful and peaceful and the cottage so close to the river is definitely the highlight every morning and evening. The two emus were something special and we really enjoyed them. The location is ideal, just far enough from town to really experience silence, but close enough that you can drive into town or go to other places. The staff were friendly and the house is very neat and also practical. The fact that we could easily come and go without any hassle was very convenient. We would love to go back again in the summer!
One thing I have to mention, when we got there around 14:15, our unit was already taken (Gus). We then took Ronan with the same layout. Person mentioned that his booking document also specified Gus (not sure by whom booking). Luckily no one came to kick us out. So, you have to look at booking process. Also missed that the owner didn't even come to say hello but the two people in charge were friendly and fully capable of doing their job.
The place is only going to get better when all the improvements are done.

Although we stayed for only one night - it was great.
The owners confirmed in advance that we can check in earlier than the check-in time. However, we only arrived at 15:00, only to find that the staff were not aware of our arrival and the cottage still had to be cleaned after the previous guests. We then had to stand around outside waiting for them for about an hour. The "hot tub" by the river was filled and heated for us, but was not ready until after dark and there is no lighting. The next morning there was load shedding and no water at the same time, so we couldn't wash or eat or even just make coffee. I feel that at least provision should be made that the basic facilities are in place for such cases, such as a generator or solar power. A heater would also be nice for the extremely cold evenings in winter. Another thing we missed was a salad bowl. The owners seem to live outside our national borders and the lack of supervision seems to have a negative effect on the service. There was no one to welcome us upon our arrival. The house is very cutely furnished and on the banks of the Vaal River with a stoep and braai overlooking the rippling river. The game runs free right up to the house. It's a very beautiful, peaceful environment.
It's truly a beautiful piece of land and river but the unit was a huge disappointment for the amount we paid for the 2 nights. We only slept 1 night and didn't see a chance for another night. Window next to the toilet was broken, the decor is a nightmare - nothing fits together. Kitchen is ok but the drawers do not have runners and are difficult to open and close. The view straight ahead is beautiful but to the right is a wall and to the left a French drain which is only covered with rusty zinc. There is no cement slab with an inspection hole. It's very dangerous and ugly to see. Power was out due to a storm there was a light but the stove, kettle and microwave therefore could not work. I would suggest a gas stove then one can cook and boil water for coffee. There was also no water when the power was off so you couldn't flush the toilet or wash your hands. You can't rely on Eskom or the weather so I think it's better to plan. If you've been on the road for hours and still drive a long corrugated iron road, you want to be able to eat and shower and get into bed. We got terribly cold. Thin cheap duvet and just a fitted sheet. I wish people could see some of the places where we stayed on vacation. For R1000 per night you get Egyptian cotton linen, electric blanket, feather duvet and gas so you don't even notice the power is off. I was really shocked at the amount we paid and what we got for it. Value for money is a 0. There is a new unit being built which I see at least has tiles in it - hopefully more effort is put into its decor.

The host and her husband are fantastic people. Would have liked it if there could be more to do. The rooms are excellent and clean. The braai area is perfect. Will go again soon for sure. Was very relaxing, clean and tidy.
Beautiful location by the river with wildlife roaming everywhere, but that's also a positive. When we arrived at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, they were still cleaning. We calmly waited for a friendly Marta to finish cleaning. It goes without saying that on a farm next to a river you will come across various insects, but unfortunately the place is teeming with spiders, in the thatch, cupboards, beds, curtains and under the pillows. It was such that we went to sleep in our cars. The owner's reply to this was "I don't know why you're texting me. I'm in Namibia. Then book out and get a place in town." The power kept tripping due to a short circuit, so we had to use bedside lamps to see where we were moving in the house. Both showers' drains were also clogged. There is only a single LNB on the DStv dish, so a PVR or Explorer decoder does not work. I'm sure with better management it could be a very nice place.
