Accommodation was very neat and clean. Arrangements 100% without unnecessary interaction. The only downside of unit 3 is that it borders the house and sounds from the kitchen are heard. Had a great stay.
Very nice, quiet and safe.
We were aware that the veranda room (Unit 3) is not self-catering. Didn't realize that there wasn't a television either, but luckily that's not a problem for us as we actually rarely use a television where we sleep over. A very cool idea is the key safe at the electric sliding gate, which makes check-in and check-out completely painless. We received the code beforehand, via Whatsapp, as well as the WiFi code. The veranda room is delightfully spacious, with a giant bed and clean bathroom, and a nice view of the mountain that lies just off Forest Lane.

Overall I had a very nice stay. The accommodation was just as good as shown in the photos, and self-check-in was easy and quick. There were some water supply issues during our stay but I understand this is completely out of Forest Lane's control. Helena was available to help and quickly provided us with extra water bottles.

We would definitely recommend Forest Lane. It has everything a self catering unit needs, it is in a good location and there was good customer service.
Clarens is worth a visit. Just avoid the R26 - a road from hell. A disgrace that the authorities have allowed it to get into such a state of disrepair. My heart goes out to the farmers and community who rely on this road for their economic survival.

Forest Lane is well located, not only because it is within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants, but also because it has the most beautiful mountain view. Helena was an excellent hostess and available at any time. Accommodation was very neat and safe.

Forest Lane is situated in a stunningly beautiful part of Clarens and the surrounding gardens are beautifully maintained. Unfortunately, the accommodation itself was only disappointing and it would appear that the unit is not continuously upgraded. The 'king' bed of unit 2 is two beds pushed against each other, one of which is already so hollow you can't use the bed to the full. The shower head is shallow and two thick streams of water spray in each direction, flooding the entire bathroom. The unit was also not particularly clean and the bathroom/dressing cubicle lights inside are dirty and full of bugs. All well and good, but for the majority of 2 days there was no power or water. There is also no 'back-up' power or water. Apparently the water is turned off every day from 5pm to 8am - had I known this in advance I would never have stayed at Forest Lane, but instead checked into a hotel that would at least provide basic value for money. Overall just disappointed and really feel like it was a waste of money.

Our stay was very peaceful and the unit is very neat and clean, will definitely stay there again if we visit Clarens again.
Aunt Helena really went out of her way to welcome us. We enjoyed it so much and look forward to our next visit. The rooms are incredibly beautiful and the "view and garden" is even more beautiful! There were even hot water bottles ready for us if the cold was too bad. Our hearts ached to have to go home.
My wife and I and our 12-year-old Saniel visited here for my wife's birthday. We were received generously and a lot of effort was made to make us feel at home. Because Helena is now involved in the business sector of Clarens, she was able to serve us with wise advice, or best places to eat and walking routes, etc. We will definitely stay at Forest Lane again.
The accommodation delivered everything that was advertised. Hospitality by Helena was excellent. We were personally received and greeted again upon departure. Unit was nicely heated and comfortable. We had a great rest, watched Netflix and the WIFI helped to finish work. Clean and tidy, delicious coffee and biscuits were welcome. View on the mountain with sunsets and sunrises is great. The shower was a nice hot water and water pressure experience. Guesthouse is located safely and close to everything.

It's right by the entrances of the trails/park run. Forest effect and yet safe, quiet. Even though it's on the owners property, you have your own entrance, privacy looking into their garden where the dogs are playing and lots of bird life.

Not clear description of what is not available. Have booked with other places, where there is a clear outline of what is available and what is not. Even the apartments at the other places at least had cutlery, microwave and TV, at a much lower price.

We had a wonderful stay. The separate cottage is stylishly furnished and equipped with all the necessary cutlery and electrical goods. Although there wasn't a television, we didn't miss it. Forest Lane is the perfect choice for accommodation in Clarens. It is situated within walking distance of the restaurants and shops - we loved it!
Bathroom in unit one a bit small and in need of updating.
Unfortunately it is located on a relatively busy sand road and there is a lot of dust. Braai area is not great. There are many places to choose from in the price range which are larger and equally equipped.

Very nice unit that is neat and clean. The unit is very private and has everything to make a weekend getaway very comfortable, such as the luxury large bed, well-equipped kitchen, electric blankets, electric wall heater and gas hob. Very friendly reception and interaction with Helena who goes out of her way to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The guest house is very close to the main part of town and is only a 5 minute walk to all the restaurants and shops.
