The only thing I might recommend, if there is another power outage, maybe look for a generator. We couldn't cook because the power was off and we only got paraffin lamps. The restaurant was already closed.
We were going to sleep over for a wedding in the area and were almost late due to the fact that we couldn't see anywhere where Foundry Guest Lodge or reception was. Room was fine and very comfortable, late at night it was a bit noisy in the area. Breakfast next morning was good.
Braai facilities had not been clean, bottles were lying around, there had also been no kettle in the accommodation. Only got one after we asked.
It will be more comfortable if you can book dinner like a sandwich or hamburger. I made use of the Mozambican restaurant next to the lodge, but the food wasn't that great, or at least the food I ordered.

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet in the city. Very enjoyable stay with friendly and competent staff and management. Very accommodating, and info-sharing great regarding eating places in surrounding area.
Had a great stay. Would recommend that the fridge be revised as it does not close properly and tray in the door has been removed.
Could pay attention to the showers because the water is too hot - kids almost got burned. Can make a little plan with coffee cups. Road signs could use some attention. But overall I would definitely stay there again.
Disappointing check-in, but otherwise comfortable stay. Nice walking distance from fantastic restaurant. Take candles, matches and lighters with you for load shedding, avoid the unwelcome surprise.
The room was nice (TV worked, but without sound and only one channel). Location is very poor - there was a lot of noise and some guests visited our room (they stayed on the other side of the guest house, which was bad). Had a little trouble getting in at the gate.
Will just put a fan in the room because the aircon can't make the whole place cold. Furthermore, everything was very nice and clean!

Foundry "Luxury" Lodge looked lovely and beautiful on the photos! That's where it stopped! Slept in a hidden "cottage", there wasn't enough towels and also no kettle, water etc. The person on duty was very friendly though! We had no idea of breakfast and we specifically booked so that it would be included. Also, we have two children who were excited about a swimming pool.
Foundry Guest Lodge is a beautiful and luxurious guesthouse. The room was clean and very comfortable and the staff really went the extra mile to assist. Breakfast was top notch and nicely presented. Thank you very much!
If I need to stay over again in that area I will go to Founders Guest Lodge again.

When the staff learned that the rest of our family would also be staying at Foundry Guest Lodge for a wedding nearby, they offered me and my daughter a room next to the other family. My grandsons, who are all now young men, were particularly impressed with the beautiful old house and simply decided that this is what their homes should look like. A delicious breakfast was prepared under the supervision of Ilse by the friendly staff early in the morning and the men certainly got enough to eat! Rooms were spacious and as a family together we also used the living room and it really felt like we were at home. We would love to come back to Foundry Guest Lodge again.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful with directions, but if you are looking for a quiet area to stay, this lodge is not for you. If you are a very sound sleeper, you will be listening to the trucks and motorbikes all night, because it is located so close to the N4.
Worst service I have ever had in my 20 years of traveling for business. The first night of my stay the electricity was off from 16:30 until 08:00 the next morning. No one came to explain to me what was wrong, the cleaners who received me on my arrival the day before said they thought a cable was faulty or stolen. I did not see any person from the management the entire period of my stay. The room was nicely furnished and equipped with a spa bath. The "jets" of the bath were so worn from previous use, that I did not want to use the bath under any circumstances. There was no shower in the room, and the sinks were not equipped with plugs. The cleaners do everything, from cleaning the place, preparing and serving breakfast, received from the guests. This is truly the first time I have stayed in such an inhospitable, impersonal place.
It was a pleasant time!
The toilet was leaking so it just needs to be fixed.
