Comfortable beds with electric blankets. Beautiful view on the water. Bath in one room has been cracked for a few years now, but this time it leaked a lot - the whole toilet was under water. Living room couch is tired and some of the carpets have also had their lifetime. From the outside it also looks untidy because it needs a paint because the creeper has been taken down. It still remains a beautiful place and it would be a shame if the owners don't keep their hands on it now.
We were previously residents in the complex. Wife's long-time wishlist to stay in Fox & Squirrel. Daily walks over the mountain and through the nature reserve.
I was at Fox & Squirrel on a very cold weekend, but the many fireplaces totally made up for it. The place is quiet and very safe. The house is well equipped and very beautiful. The only negative I can mention is that there is no covered parking.
There was a leak in the roof between the kitchen and one bedroom. Water poured in with the rain. The hand shower in the bath was broken. Parking is also a problem. If the neighbors are there, one cannot get to your unit. Not very private either, houses too close together. Not for someone looking for peace and quiet.
We only stayed for one night en route to the Kruger Park, but the cottage is very well-appointed and equipped. A wonderful base from which to explore the region. Warm as well, despite being in the middle of an intense cold snap.
Really enjoyed our stay.
It was mine and my husband's wedding anniversary weekend. We couldn't ask for a better, more beautiful and more romantic place. We had a great time and with the freezing weather the fireplaces in the house were just the best medicine. We rested wonderfully and had little desire to go back to Gauteng. We will definitely stay there again.
We had a very nice stay. Accommodation is excellent. So nice with the pond on your front porch.

It was just me, my husband and 2 children, but we arrived there in the evening and it was one big house you could say with a lot of sleeping space. Very nice in the place and it has a terribly beautiful view!!! We had a lot slept well there and was easy to get the key and wife was very friendly and helpful

When we arrived it was already late and a lamp was lit for us. We also received delicious chocolate and sherry. Will definitely go again. We, a group of girls, were able to relax in a safe environment. The house was neat and very well furnished.

The rooms are incredibly cold, even with the fireplaces and panel heaters on. Air conditioning may need to be considered.

Big holiday home with 4 bedrooms and bathrooms for an entire family. Dorothy coming in to washing the dishes was a big bonus. Thank you. The house is well cared for and well equipped with everything one could need. Beautiful location next to the dam with a big lawn for kids to play. We felt very safe in this security complex. Lovely patio for socialising. Maybe a veranda would keep the sun and rain at bay and make the patio even more of a treat. The Weber was relatively rusty and definitely needs replacing.

It is a safe location, everything you need and more to make your stay comfortable and lovely!
The house is neat. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 big baths and two tiny showers. All the rooms are furnished in lovely antiques, but probably overdone for a holiday rental. The upholstery/carpets need a good spring clean. Nice fireplace for the cold nights plus some wood supplied. Generally a very nice place on a security controlled estate, including an alarm. Everything you need is in the house except a non stick pan. Clean linen, towels, etc. are not to be faulted. There is a Weber braai outside but the patio area does not have very comfortable seating to enjoy the view of the dam, which is a pity. This is the real serene part of the house/location.
