40 guests' feedbackWas very surprised how cute the house is. The photos on the website do not show how cute the living area, bathroom and kitchen are. Was a nice surprise. Was very clean and it was nice to see the animals so close.
Outstanding! Very nice and the wild animals were special for my 4 year old daughter.
Our stay was pleasant and without problems. It was nice to stay in silence outside the town on the slopes of the beautiful mountains. The wildlife is definitely a bonus.
Enjoyed the accommodation and seeing zebra and wildebeest walking around.
Definitely recommend - Very peaceful and relaxing getaway.
Very nice stay. Incredibly beautiful.
The accommodation was clean, tidy and met our expectations.
The fireplace makes it cozy for cold days.
Will return again and again!
The mountain views were amazing, as were the many magnificent animals who came to graze and play right beyond the little boundary fence. Loved it.
I expected 4 beds and not a mattress on the floor when I booked a 4 sleeper, but this did not spoil our stay. I would book here again.
All good here at Franschhoek Country Cottages.
A silent weekend away from every day routine. I would like to see more animals!
We stayed for 3 nights. The silence was heavenly and the sunset playing against the mountains while the animals are grazing almost touching distance from you is wonderful. The unit was nice and clean and very tidy and has everything you could possibly need. We will definitely book again.
If you are looking for a complete reboot of body, mind and soul - this is the place for you! After 2020 and all that it threw our way, we felt like new humans after this weekend break. This is both for those looking to stay in and disconnect with the outside world OR to head out and explore the Franschoek Valley - either way. Franschoek Cottages is the place to book your stay! It offers every amenity and comfort of home, and throws in the luxury of being in a mini game reserve, with the zebra and buck around the watering hole. The feeling of being at one with nature and the valley is divine. Book Book Book!
Very nice. Will go again.
Great place to stay. Simple, but everything you need.
Spacious, comfortable cottage with interesting view of mountains and wildlife. Very good braai on stoep. Excellent value for money. No WiFi.
We were pleasantly surprised with the lovely cottage with the most incredible mountain views. The cottage is very comfortable and cosily furnished. We were fortunate that it was cold so we could burn the fireplace every night. Excellent location and value for money.
Very neat and clean facilities. The bathroom in the Olive Cottage needs improvement.
There was no warning of baboons. It was disturbing and we kept our windows and doors closed afterwards.
Franschhoek Country Cottages is heaven on earth. It's clean and comfortable with everything you need at hand. The animals are beautiful and the silence is heavenly. We will definitely visit again.
The early morning coffee on the porch, with the wild animals grazing in front of us, pristine and incredible! See you soon Franschhoek Country Cottages.
Relaxing area with stunning view surrounded by mountains.
Franschhoek Country Cottages is a great break from the city. Tranquility everywhere you look. The units have a farm feeling and the smells surrounding you are something special. The highlight was the zebra, springbuck and bluewildebeest that come very close. Unfortunately there was some melted chocolate on our bedding which made us wonder if they replaced it with fresh linen after the previous guests left.
I really enjoyed staying with you guys! Especially with the wild animals that basically come to hang out on your front porch! And the incredibly beautiful mountains! House itself very neat and beautiful!
Clean, quiet and off the beaten track.
We will come back here without thinking twice.
See stars.
Winter type sheets would've been nice with blankets rather than duvet.
The little place was tidy. Last part of the road is in a bad condition for a car and it wouldn't hurt to install a TV. Otherwise very nice, thanks.
The animals almost come right up to your doorstep. Lovely place at the foot of the mountain.
After a long road the atmosphere was amazing and the animals that received us with such a wonderful display of affection will always be a happy memory.
The accommodation was well appointed and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was watching the zebra, springbok and wildebeest at the waterhole.
Environment and view incredible. The zebras, black wildebeest and springbok graze against you. Mattress in our unit 2 was not good.
Reception was very poor, and there was no talk of it. The place is neat and clean, but it only lacks DStv.
We found it extremely difficult to find the place as there are no directions on the road. We did call and a man gave directions in English, but we still repeatedly got lost and even ended up in a lock-up "estate" where we had to ask a resident to drive us around the gate for us to open so we could get out. We could only find the sign with a zebra on it, which indicated where to drive, after we had driven into a farm. The key was left in the kitchen on the counter for us, and we never saw a host. In fact, the host also did not reply to my SMS indicating that we would be leaving. The accommodation was very clean and tidy, but very basic. The power went out and we had to fend for ourselves in the dark to find a Consol bottle on the porch that provided a trickle of light. The room has no TV, which was not indicated on the advertisement. The game was quite close and the zebras were beautiful, but the poor chamois was extremely thin and looked like he might die at any moment. There was no indication of any security and we had to park in front of the room, without any canopy.
The places are nice and clean and to wake up and you have some wild animals there is very nice. The only negative things we would like to mention is that the directions are not clear and the sign you have to follow does not show the right way. So we got lost and searched for almost an hour where to go. There was no one to tell us who slept where and we weren't the only people there. The other people asked for 1 house with a double bed and 1 with 2 single beds and then got 2 houses with a double bed each and we then exchanged. The day after we checked out, the owner called us twice to say we hadn't checked out while we were already in Cape Town. If he maybe pays a little more attention and knows a little more about his guests it might be better. His animals are but thin. You can count all the ribs of the gemsbok and the 1 springbok was hurt and had to suffer because no one cares for the animals. It's not really acceptable to me.
The cottages are very spacious and the surrounds are incredibly beautiful. You cannot go wrong here. The animals have a visible presence. Great value for money.
A good accommodation if you want to spend a few days exploring the Wine Region.
