Ona had a nice stay. The man who received us is very friendly. They are doing renovation work, but it didn't bother us over the weekend. Our room was one of the new ones, and it is a very nice room.

Spacious room and comfortable.
It was a very short stay.
The employees were friendly and the rondavals surrounding the pool look lovely. However, the room was not very clean. Amenities are cheap, the kettle was full of ants and the breakfast quality is not great. Some butter would have been appreciated instead of cheap margarine. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was good.
No name outside. Waited 10 minutes for them to open the gate. We had to call them to open up.
Booked three garden chalets for 5 nights. Would have left after the first night if we could have found alternative accommodation in the area (sadly everything booked out). The positives - staff very friendly and the garden and pool gorgeous and well maintained. Breakfast great. The negatives - everything else felt or appeared old, worn, dirty/stained or damaged. The bedding is clean but stained and worn. Walls and high touch points (e.g. light switches and door handles) are visibly dirty. There is a potent smell of mould inside the chalets with significant evidence of mould on walls and some of the soft furnishings (e.g. curtains). Floors are in need of a proper scrub as visible grime buildup is evident. There are damaged curtains and cracks in tiles and the bath. The microwave is smelly/dirty. The cutlery and crockery are dirty (the cups we used the night before were clearly only rinsed with water but not washed using soap). Worst of all - millions of tiny black bugs falling from the thatched roof onto the bed. There was no warning of when to expect load shedding, making it difficult to plan our day. I have photos of all of what I described above but it appears I cannot add them to this review. Not all of the above is evident in all the chalets (noting we booked three). I felt 'grotty' right through our stay and could not wait to leave for our next destination.
Beautiful place and we enjoyed our stay.
For some reason, there is no signage on York Street, and the GPS took us to the Virgin Active Gym behind the lodge.
Very friendly host and not a bad place however the cleanliness of the bedding was somewhat questionable also that of the towels as for the rest of the room, it was fine. They are busy with renovations which I think is going to make it better with new and improved rooms.

At first glance the place looked very nice and the reception was very friendly. But the thatched roof of the room/chalet we stayed in had a significant musty smell and the bedding was stained. I feel the place needs some attention/renovation. Apart from the physical shortcomings, the location is too close to one of George's busiest streets and it is difficult to fall asleep with the noise of the vehicles.
Other guests hung out until late and made a lot of noise that we couldn't sleep. Was worried our baby would wake up. The aircon that they say heats, didn't want to heat. We also didn't have a smart TV in the room like last time and wanted to watch some TV.

The place is beautiful and the service is outstanding. For me it's the location, the lodge would be superbly perfect if it was on the outskirts, away from CBD noise. Other than that, I had a magnificent time and everyone was friendly.
I have stayed in a lot of B&B's and hotels and this was most definitely one of my least favorites. To begin with, there is no welcome chocolate like other B&B's, not even a cookie for the tea. We had dirty towels in our room and the electric banket didn't work. The breakfast was delicious.

Unfortunately, the photos on the website are very deceiving. Our family room's bedding was full of stains, there was a dead mosquito and its blood on the wall that had not been cleaned, hand marks on the mirror and the curtains were very dirty. For a 4 star we were extremely disappointed and did not have a nice stay at all. We paid for breakfast but didn't want to wait for breakfast to open, we wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.

The lodge has been taken over by new owners, but it is clear that it is not up to the standard we expected. The new owners were accommodating because we were able to check in and check out a little earlier. Breakfast was meager and load shedding adversely affected the making of morning coffee and breakfast. Coffee was already cold. The layout of the rooms around the pool is very good and creates a peaceful atmosphere.

It was a pleasant overnight stay. Special arrangements were made to receive us after hours. Delicious breakfast by a friendly chef. We found it rather strange that there were only small cherries in the rondavels to use when load shedding hit us there - and this when there are all kinds of cheap options for lighting on the market.
Just staying over for one night was enough. The people there were friendly and helpful. However, the hot tub did not work as intended.

Garden is breathtakingly beautiful. Liked the calm atmosphere. We asked to check in earlier than 2pm and were allowed. Slept well. Relax in Jacuzzi. Fortune, the cook, is a man of a thousand. Believe he is appreciated. He was our photographer. Omelettes were top notch.

"Upmarket", central, great service.
The lodge has a great location on the main street. It's very convenient and close to restaurants and businesses. The only complaint I have is that there wasn't hot water when we got back to the unit after our function. Seeing as every unit had a bubble bath, it would be better if every unit had it's own geyser. But in the morning there was hot water for a nice shower and a lovely breakfast.
