My stay at Fynbos Cottage was definitely comfortable. This was real value for money and they will see me again.
We had a very nice stay. Everything in working order and the yard was clean and perfect for our show dogs. The braai on the stoep was a plus. Will stay there again.
It was just too short, but everything you need was there and tidy.

This was our second stay at Fynbos. The cottage is comfortable and well-equipped. Swimming beach access is a little bit of a distance from the cottage, but walkable. At the price we paid for our weekend stay, we would definitely return more often.
Plekkie is nice and spacious and has everything you need, just a little far from the sea, otherwise we had a very nice stay.

The photos on the website do not look like reality at all. The kitchen was extremely unhygienic. The bathroom does not look at all like the host imagines. There are cracked tiles. The cottage's carpets are dirty and one carpet was broken. The host did not communicate at all except to send directions. When I had a question, I just received a short WhatsApp back, without any real interest.
Innocent was very, very kind. Many thanks to him, our weekend was awesome. We will use Fynbos Cottage again. Everything was and is comfortable. Many thanks to the website for a wonderful service.
Very nice stay. Everything was very clean and tidy. Everything you need. Roomy. Owner and was very helpful.
Only problem was toilets sucking noises at night and clogginess when flushing.
It would help if a house number was placed at the front of the yard to find space and maybe a box to drop keys in if the wind blows again. But value for money, everything is there and tidy, thank you.
Betty's Bay can get very windy, the rattling of the chimney cowl was most disturbing, would be a good idea to investigate reducing the noise.

Very spacious place with nice beds. Everything you need for an overnight stay. Wonderful garden for your dogs. Very animal friendly. Hostess very friendly. Just would have liked WiFi.
The receptionist, Innocent, was helpful and received us kindly. The rooms are spacious and modern and there is enough sleeping space and bedding. However, I recommend replacing the loose wardrobes with built-in wardrobes to match the modern style. The living area is open plan and connects to the modern kitchenette. There was enough seating in the living room with a comfortable dining table and we were able to spend the day there with our guest on Saturday afternoon. The braai facilities were perfect and we had a delicious braai in the afternoon. There was also a living room lamp that provided light in the living room during the night when charging, which made it very convenient. The garden and lawn were well maintained. The area is quiet and peaceful and the short weekend visit was pleasant.
Couldn't get hold of the owner from booking to the day we checked out.
The stove is rusted. Cutlery not sufficient. Cheap pots no stainless steel bottoms, everything burns. The microwave and fridge (rusted) are old and looks tatty. New sleeping couch cheap and hecticly uncomfortable. This place needs to be upgraded as the daily rate is excessive for what the offering is. No linen or towel change in 2 weeks. Twintub washing machine in this day and age? No Wi-Fi at this day and age? Candles to use during loadshedding? In conclusion my worst experience and hard earned money wasted. Did not see the owner, had to deal with her helper. I am sure the owner made enough money to upgrade this place to another level.
Enjoyed the privacy. Fynbos is situated very close to all sightseeing attractions. Innocent is very helpful. Thanks a lot.

Everything there to enjoy staying close to all the attractions. Quiet and safe.
The venue has a lot of space and it almost feels like coming home. The kitchen and living area facilities are adequate. I missed a WiFi connection, but at least I had a router as backup.
Unfortunately the weather just didn't cooperate which meant we had to be indoors more. But the amenities made up for it.
No luxuries in the house. What you see is what you get. Good area and value for money. Very private and the fireplace in the house is a bonus!

It was value for money - very spacious and really enjoyed the indoor fireplaces.
It was a nice cottage and very cosy. The neighbourhood was very quiet as well. We enjoyed our stay.
We had a very nice stay. Just 1 day no water to shower and loadshedding also caught us unexpectedly and unprepared.
The property did not meet our standards in general and furthermore, my view, is that it is situated on the "wrong side of the railway tracks", but at least within walking distance from the beach which is a positive. The cottage is due for a makeover and some cutlery items are in desperate need of replacing, but the correct type of items are provided. Sofa definitely due for a toss-out. Whilst the cottage appears clean on the surface, it turns out not to be the case. We had the terrible experience of bed bugs which the owner tried to make out as "mosquito bites" - which these weren't. A week has passed and the bite marks are still visible. I trust that the owner will resolve this matter in haste though. Otherwise, a comfortable cottage, if you are only looking for a bed to sleep in. Not ideal for the windy days where one will have to spend most of the time indoors. Innocent was amazing and assisted wherever he could, and promptly so. A pleasure to deal with him.

My only gripe is the kitchen utensils are a bit old, but otherwise a wonderful place to stay and lovely space to rest in general.

The house is nice and big, from the open-plan living area and kitchen, to the rooms. The fireplace in the living area is perfectly located to heat the house and create a holiday atmosphere. The garden is very nice, safe and fenced so our 2 year old could go in and out to play outside as he wanted. There is a table outside where you can also enjoy nice meals together.
Fynbos is a cozy little house with all the necessary necessities. A suggestion: a rubber mat in the bath to prevent a person from slipping while showering. Innocent is a friendly reception and help. He soon noticed that grandfather was going to forget his cane.
The weekend was worth it and it's definitely worth every penny. It's quiet and peaceful and walking distance from the sea. I would recommend anyone to visit Fynbos Cottage.
The lounge fireplace needs a bit of attention, hole in the chimney, and the one in the bedroom leaks when it rains. Also a leak in the ceiling in the kitchen.
Shower facilities and toilet facilities pathetic.
The home owner must pay attention to things that are broken please. e.g. electric cord (multiplug), boiler, wall plugs - all out of order. Leaky roof in kitchen - floor soaked after rain. Fireplace in room soaking wet after rain. The worst was the neighbour's dog, which kept barking day and night - we had to go and talk to her about it while the owner of Fynbos Cottage was at home. Across the street was a mechanic who starts his motorbike at 02:00 and fixes vans. The location is really poor - sorry about that. An empty lighter was left with 2 candles for load shedding. It may have potential but attention must be paid to detail/basics.
Lovely place to stay. Well-kept garden and nice patio. Very neat. However, would like to see a braai as part of kitchen accessories, otherwise, lovely place to visit.
Fynbos was clean and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I always recommend the website to friends and family, keep up the good service you offer.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fynbos and had a great time, just a pity about the fires in the mountain that broke out at the end of our stay. We can recommend the accommodation to future visitors.
We can't describe how amazing the place was but all I can say is we will book it again.
Fynbos Cottage is a must visit for anyone looking for an incredible break and break. The reception by the very capable and perfect host, Innocent, was the best tone to start the holiday. We immediately felt at home. The house is wonderfully centrally located, a short walk from the beach and shops. It's also on a quiet cul-de-sac, so no traffic. Everything was beautifully clean and well maintained and Innocent was only a phone call away if you needed anything. Yard is completely fenced so our animal children also had a good time. We can't wait for our next visit!

The cottage is very well situated, the garden and its surroundings is very well maintained and the safety is commendable. Nice and clean thank you.
The house was very tastefully decorated, clean and the beds comfortable. We stayed in the back cottage (Fynbos 2) which had a larger enclosed garden, perfect for the 2 small dogs we brought with. We would've stayed on longer if it wasn't for the famous Cape Doctor which made going to the beach and most outdoor activities impossible. There is only 1 small general shop in Betty's Bay, which is expensive and sells only the bare essentials, so recommend that you stock up on groceries before heading off. There is however a SuperSpar in Kleinmond (15 km from Betty's Bay) which is open until 7 pm every day except Sunday (2 pm).
The only negative the cottage had was the fact that the garage door did not lock and even though it was able to be pulled down we did not feel safe during the night being 2 woman alone as the inter leading door from the garage into the cottage did not have a security gate on it. My suggestion is to get the garage door fixed so that it can be locked as well as install a security gate on the inter leading door.
Place was neat, clean and very comfortable, as well as privately furnished. Would have liked a shade net or umbrella on the porch, summer sun was quite hot.

Place was tidy on arrival. Bedding nice and clean. The fireplaces were the best of the whole stay. Plenty to see in the area.
I had a great time in the cottage. I just feel that if there were 2 of us or more, R300 per person per night might be a bit high. A price per night for a cottage may be more attractive.
It was very nice place to stay. I do have two things I will attend to. During the day it is boiling hot on the porch with no shade, we put up our own shade net. The second bedroom's mattresses are very thin. It really wasn't serious stuff, but thought it could make the place just that much nicer.

Innocent the caretake at Fynbos Cottage is a real gem. Although the social area is not very private one can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of Betty's Bay. And best of all, this unit is pet friendly although not fenced off. Thank you.
