Neat, clean and safe annex for 4 people. Outdoor as well as indoor barbecue, well-equipped residential unit on the Fynbos Golf Course.
The dirt road is a nuisance and should probably not be traveled using a sedan type vehicle. The view is magnificent. These units are kitted out with every utencil that may possibly be needed, and which are usually not available in most rental units (for example - kitchen scissors, "braai rooster" cleaning brush (steel), etc). Unit was very clean, the towels, bedding and matresses are top quality. There are two things that may/will be an irritation - (1) The flies are ever present given that the resort is surrounded by farms, and (2) the units are semi detached with locked interlinking door separating same. Even if the party next door whispers, we heard it in our unit, not to mention the absolute cacophony in our unit when the lot next door spoke in amplified voices and played their music overly loudly. I suggest that the resort seals the interlinking door with soundproof material, at the very least. The surrounding area is private property (farms, estates, houses on the beach) and access to the beach is basically non existent or a long, steep hill walk away as public parking is not readily available.
Check-in is at 14:00. I contacted 3 texts and 2 times by email to ask nicely if we could maybe check in at 12:00 because we are traveling from far away and want to rest a nice long afternoon, crawl in early and then early the next morning want to fall in the way. Not one answer received. Please read previous reviews, especially where people talk about groups of people. When I made this reservation all the rooms were still available (as in, the whole place) and for days in the future. The day before we drove, it still looked like no one else was going to be there. It was quiet when we got there and extremely clean. The cleaning crew are doing a very good job, many thanks to them. We got into bed around 9:30 and it was then car lights that made me look up. A Toyota Coaster 23 seater and an Iveco Daily 22 Seater vans just stopped. Students from Walter Sisulu University. The night of hell began soon after. The students made so much noise (singing loudly, shouting to each other over and over between the places). I probably made 15 phone calls and there was argument over and over again about the matter, but long story short, the people of Fynbos Ridge feel NOTHING for the smaller group of people. Can I blame them for attracting so many paying guests? Not at all, not at all, but just know, if you check in at the same time that there is such a group of people, you will go home ten to one and wish you had stayed at home. Regardless of the guests, the place is not worth the money at all. The places are 'semi-detached' and there is only a door separating the 2 units. Very nice if you stay there as one big family and pay for both places (but at R5400 it is an extreme waste of money). The problem with the thin door is, the door sits in the middle of the building, right next to the 'hangout' table / area on both sides. So if you want to sleep in your room, but your neighbor sits and hangs out in his living area, he is at the closest point on his side of the building to you. So when he sits and hangs out, he hangs out 5m from your bedroom door. Yes, the places look big in the photos, unfortunately this is not the case at all.
Only rush was that the restaurant closed at 17:00 as a stopover where we were not geared for self-catering, the closing time was very limiting.
Would love for you to sort out the road so that you can at least have a nice trip to your guest house. Nothing wrong with the place, it's just the dirt road.

Although only an overnight stay, the accommodation was clean, tidy and well equipped. The view from the veranda was incredible and the sunset was very beautiful. It was a bit disappointing as we didn't have access to the beach in the photos. WiFi is also only available at the clubhouse and not in the accommodation.
The arrival in the gravel road was not great. It was very bumpy. The menu was very limited, and the quality did not justify the price. The accommodation was quite expensive at R750 per person, and it didn't even include breakfast.
Nice view, units are just not very private, hear everything that neighbor travelers next door discuss.

The last 15km dirt road is nice and rough, so not everyone wants to drive it and exactly what we were looking for. Fridge a bit small if you stay longer than 4 days. The golf club facilities are first class.

There is not a daily cleaning service included in the price. The plates were greasy and not clean. The 8km dirt road was bad, especially because it was raining.
Very nice place, but a problem to get to beach. No parking and a 1 km walk up a steep hill. There were an awful lot of flies in our unit, luckily the fly patch did its job.
The cottage has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The staff at the golf club were fantastic with their help with accommodation arrangements! Would stay there again anytime.

Enjoyed the outside and inside fireplaces for winter.
Both sliding and entrance doors need adjusting, the grass should also be cut, it gives the impression that the place is cared for.

It met my expectations.
Fynbos disappointed me. Shower head corroded causing water to spray on roof and place against your body. We were told that we had to wash our own dishes as their cleaning services did not wash other people's dishes.
Two major problems with Fynbos Ridge. There is a door (which is locked) between units. You hear the people next door talking, kitchen doors slamming, music playing, etc. One night we had to ask our neighbors to please turn down their rap music after a few hours as we couldn't hear our TV. A day or so later we could hear someone playing the guitar beautifully. The other major frustration was access to the ocean. We felt like criminals asking the guard at Eersterivier if we could gain entry. The beach was closed, but we just wanted to go for a walk through Eersterivier. The first night we were allowed in, the second time we asked Chris (whose number we were given by reception) refused us entry! We could see through the gate that there are many families in the (one) street! He said that there was no parking inside, we would have to park on someone's private lot and the beach was closed anyway. It is a very long, 1 km and steep downhill to the sea and then there is no parking if you take your car. The cleanliness of the unit was not surprising either: The sofas were dirty (in unit 5) and the cushions with the protea motif on them reeked of sweat. In the kitchen there was no vegetable peeler or cutting board and the glasses didn't all fit together. The road from the paddock has been scraped and repaired so the 8 km dirt road is no longer a problem. The staff are helpful and friendly, but the restaurant takes an unusually long time to bring you food, even if it's just a sandwich with eggs.
This while we had a big event. Cool idea, but someone will have to do something. Not impressed at all. But very impressed with the way Martell from the website helped us quickly make another plan.
I would recommend Fynbos Ridge for travellers who do not like having a large group of people around them. You have access to the beautiful Eerste River beach which is nice and quiet. The accommodation is well suited for 4 people and very clean. The beds are comfortable. There is a children's playground and each unit has an indoor and outdoor braai. The food at the clubhouse is cheap for large portions and of good quality. I would love to return and recommend Fynbos Ridge to others.
Fynbos is located in one of the most beautiful areas in our country, with the most beautiful sea views. I will definitely come and visit more and more.

Fynbos Ridge is a pleasant place for a weekend break and has just the peace that the ocean offers. The unit is very well located and the inside braai makes is lovely in the wind and cold.
I sincerely hope the management also reads the review. The control and regulations of the accommodation lack firm performances. I suspect it is mainly accommodation for golf groups, but the people who were there this weekend were definitely not golfers, they were just there to visit. Management tried to intervene (appreciatively), but they have no rules in place to back them up. The chalets are fairly new, but maintenance should be applied now before it is too late. There are no hangers in the cupboards, no place to put cleaning products in the shower, no place for your toothbrush etc. in bathroom. Linen needs attention and is not washed properly, R300 pd for cleaning service is ridiculously expensive. Otherwise we had a really nice stay. Completion of small things in chalet card to make it really great. Gardens/lawn need attention and maybe benches to sit on and stare at the sea would help with the 'holiday experience'. I'm critical, but hopefully it helps management.

Will not go back there unless they fix the 8 km dust road leading to Fynbos Ridge. The road is extremely bad for a car.
Unit was not very clean or comfortable. Couches were extremely dirty, had to cover them with the throws from the bedrooms to be able to use them. No soap holder or shelf in the shower. No conveniently placed towel hook for the the shower. Extremely low water pressure. Poorly maintained. Lounge sliding door could not be opened or closed without lots of effort and once opened you could only open it about 40 cm ─ looked like it had been like that for a while. Main bedroom could not be opened. You were required to clean up the place, but the broom handle was filthy and there was no dustpan. We booked Sunday and Monday, these are the days when the restaurant closes at 5 pm and the closest restaurant is 18 km away on mostly a dirt road. Not a very convenient location when on holiday.
It was very quiet and therapy for us.
Our stay at Fynbos Ridge no. 3 was indeed a pleasant experience. It is a beautiful, clean townhouse with a breathtaking sea view and everything we needed to make our stay a pleasure. The indoor barbecue is truly a good alternative for the days when it is cold and rainy. We will townhouse no. 3 definitely recommended because it is right at the front of the complex and offers unlimited views of the sea. The only negative experience is the approximately 10 km of bad dirt road to Fynbos Ridge. If you travel with a van or SUV, the road will be less of a bad experience than if you travel with a car.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fynbos Ridge. The unit (no.3) is fully equipped, with 2 braai areas (inside and outside) which pleasantly surprised us. It is a nice view of the sea with no other units in front of it. There was just no salt and pepper in the jars, but that's about the only fault we could find. Would definitely recommend the place.

The 9 km dirt road is very bad to get there. Would have appreciated if this was clearly stated when the place was advertised. The restaurant was unexpected when due to a wedding We planned to eat there so didn't bring any food. We couldn't find a decent place to eat in the evening in that area so we just packed up and drove home even though we had already paid for the accommodation.
One of the places to stay with the most beautiful view we have stayed at. Real value for money.
Fynbos Ridge units are spacious and tidy.
Aside from the fact that the unit is luxurious and meets all my needs, the view of the ocean is beautiful. It is also fantastic that the unit has an outside braai and an indoor braai area is incredible. Truly one of the nicest holiday spots I've ever been to.

The accommodation was fantastic, the road to the accommodation just needs a little attention.
Everything went well and all 3 of my sons fell asleep by 21:00 as it was peaceful. Unfortunately the house is semi detached. At 22:10 the neighbours arrived and played loud music from their car, even turned the TV on loud and shouted at each other. This woke my children. Went to ask them to please be quiet down but they just turned the music even louder. My wife later went to ask them again and they calmed down somewhat, but not enough, only calmed down properly by 1:00 the morning. I initially intended to book another night and invite more friends to join us the next day, but decided it's not a good idea.
I had two big problems with Fynbos: The last 9 km of the route is a gravel road in a bad condition if you drive with a car. I had to replace two tires on our rental car. The bad road is not mentioned anywhere. Otherwise their restaurant's kitchen closes at 18:00. So if you want dinner you must drive the bad road in the dark to go and eat somewhere.

Description
These are basic self-catering units situated in our farm camp on the golf course. These units sleep 4 people and include a TV with DStv, private parking and a fully equipped kitchen. Beds can be changed into a double or separated on request. This unit also have a sea view.
The newly developed units offer beautiful interior design, 180-degree sea views, and attention to detail. Each unit can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children, and comprises 1 bedroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The bedrooms each contain a king-size bed that can be converted to twin 3-quarter beds on request.
The kitchens are fully equipped for self-catering and include a stove and oven, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, and a breakfast bar with stools. The lounge areas each contain a TV with selected DStv channels. The living areas open out to a wooden deck with picnic benches, and braai facilities. Private parking is available on-site.
