The perfect place to stay for exploring a new town.
I overslept one night. Very neat and friendly reception. The emergency light for load shedding helped a lot. Beautiful outdoor area with barbecue facilities. The internet was erratic.
Nice stay. There is just a misunderstanding about booking, description shows 2 single rooms, but it is only one room with 2 single beds.

Unit was unacceptable: the bath was used and not cleaned. There were spiders and webs everywhere. Worst of all, there was a foul smell in the unit. Breakfast and views were very nice.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are neat and clean and the environment around the lodge is well maintained. There is a lot to do such as fishing, walking (the river walk is very peaceful), golf, swimming and more. Definitely worth visiting.

We really enjoyed the weekend away at the Gaikou Lodge. It has a great view and reception was friendly. I wish we could stay another night to experience some more hiking trails into the forest!

Enjoyed the visit very much. Out of town but still walking distance to the nearest eateries.
So we wanted an ideal place to break away to. This was definitely it. We walked for hours in the mountains. Any questions were answered immediately and the staff went that extra mile to service our needs. I would recommend this gem and I will certainly book again.
The setting is beautiful. The rooms are nice, well equipped and very clean. The staff are very friendly.
For the price, we expected more attention to the finer details. The coffee and tea were basic and limited, just enough coffee grounds and brown sugar for two cups of coffee. There was no milk in the room either.
Ons was mal oor die ruim kamers en badkamer. Tuine is pragtig, puik ligging, goeie linne en beddens. Die personeel moet net meer aandag aan detail gee, my filterkoffie is nooit tydens ons 4 dae-verblyf hervul nie, en daar was geen funksionele elektriese aansluiting vir haardroërs nie. Maar ons het heerlik gebly en sal graag weer wil kom.
I loved the stay, it is beautiful, but on the site it said that it is self catering. We love to make our own food if we go to a beautiful place that we pay for and enjoy the area, but there is only a kettle to make tea and coffee. There was a braai area, so braai your meat and veggies. Thank goodness the weather allowed us to braai or we would have to order takeaway. On the website it also said there is a restaurant on site, but that is not true. The breakfast in the morning was very nice. Would not go back, unless I do not have to cook.
A place to stay that I would recommend! If there is something that I can possibly suggest as improvement it is that the group should be housed together!
