40 guests' feedbackVery nice stay. Quiet and peaceful.
We slept so well and it was cold. We sat in front of the lovely fireplace and watched DSTV all evening. Very nice braai place and safe environment. Beautiful garden with animal life. We had such a nice stay.
Close to the road - but with no traffic noise. Host was friendly and made us feel at home. My dogs were with us and we went for long walks with them - the farm is beautiful. Emergency lights helped with load shedding and a two plate gas plate provided coffee water.
The guest house was very clean with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing one-night stay. The host was very friendly and greeted us on arrival. The house has some beautiful views over a farm dam with mountain backdrops.
Very hospitable people. House is very homely. Will definitely stay there again.
Friendly people, neat and tidy place, what more could you ask for!
We were well received and well told how the accommodation looks and works inside. We were invited to see how wool sheep are sheared and had a good time at the shearing shed. Got more coffee and soft drinks there too.
Very spacious, well equipped, neat and hospitable. Lovely environment!
Good value for money
Beautiful place, nice area and peaceful. It's the ideal getaway place. Accommodation is neat, lots of space, beds sleep well and there is everything in the kitchen that one needs.
We only suggest that a pin drop be sent to the guests, because we got lost and ended up on an ugly dirt road on the other side of the mountain on the other side of the farm. Other than that, no complaints and we highly recommend the place.
Very neat large guest house with peaceful atmosphere and nice garden and pond.
This was an outstanding venue and great value for money. Renee and her husband were welcoming and offered every assistance. The place offers outstanding value for money and is well appointed. Everything one might need for a self-catering stay is supplied. The cottage is spacious (3 bedrooms) with a comfortable large lounge and open-plan, fully equipped kitchen. It's in a beautiful, rural setting, but very secure. We wished we were staying longer.
I am happy to recommend Gairtney Guest Farm. I requested to check in late which was happily granted. Due to an accident just before Bloemfontein, we checked in three quarters of an hour later than planned. The owner kept in touch the whole time and was very accommodating. The house is beautiful and very clean with a fully equipped kitchen as well as a lovely fireplace with wood. The beds were comfortable and beautifully covered in white. I would be happy to use Gairtney Guest Farm again.
We had a great time in a quiet farm setting. Very nice next to the dam right next to the guesthouse. The apartment is spacious with fully-equipped kitchen and large living room.
What a lovely stopover on our way to the EC. Rene was so friendly and helpful, and the cottage is lovely.
Farmhouse hospitality, farm atmosphere, warm beds and a fireplace for the Eastern Cape cold.
A farm has its own charm. Great stay. Place was clean with enough facilities. Had a nice thunderstorm and rain. Don't drive past!
Very quiet and beautiful farm atmosphere. Friendly reception.
We were very kindly received and welcomed. The owner went out of his way to make us comfortable and comfortable. Had a wonderful stay in a very peaceful, neat place. Will definitely stay there again.
Friendly accommodation in beautiful surroundings.
We were a family of 5 (adults) for which the layout of the rooms was perfect. We were received very kindly by Renee and she constantly made sure that we had everything we needed. The house is very well furnished and has a beautiful view over a small pond. It was the perfect stay during the family wedding we attended. Thank you very much Renee!
Our reception was very friendly. The unit needs some TLC e.g. the windows in kitchen and bathroom cannot open. The front door grinds on the ground. Otherwise very comfortable and tidy farm accommodation.
It was only a short overnight visit but everything was comfortable and we had a good night's rest.
Friendly reception, comfortably furnished with everything you need. When we got there it was terribly cold, the sherry was very welcome and the house was warm inside. Very nice view with the dam nearby. Would definitely recommend it. Thank you very much Renee.
Great time, grilled with the view of pond filled with variety of birds. Walked in the beautiful scenery. Rested for the last part of the year.
If you like the quiet of a farm with the most beautiful garden, surrounded pretty mountains, you will find peace for your soul, like me. The garden and dam was full of different water birds and has a peaceful effect. The very large and well equipped house with its vintage feeling was exactly what we wanted. The friendliness of the owners warms up your heart and the very reasonable fee doesn't make a big dent in your pocket. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely stay here again.
The farm is very peaceful.
It's a lovely place to stop.
The apartment at the house was very large and spacious and we could have fun in the kitchen and large sitting/dining room. Even the bathroom was big. The two bedrooms (we were three adults) were adequate, but they connect. The rear resident must walk through the front bedroom to the rest of the apartment. It didn't bother us too much, but it might bother some non-families. The ceiling of the living room is slightly coming off. The kitchen was well equipped and we were even able to borrow a braai tong from the owners to grill meat outside in the braai area. Very helpful and friendly people. There is not much of a view from the farm as it is mainly surrounded by mountains or hills, but the dam near the house is enough relief after the long day through the hot Free State - it was heatwave conditions on the way there. There was even a visitor's book in which people from European countries signed. Well done! We used Gairtney Guest Farm as an overnight accommodation. The hostess had put a lot of effort into putting together an information book about the area and its people and towns, and placed it in the guest house's living room. Reading it convinced me that, as a first time visitor to the area, I should definitely come again and spend more time here.
The owner and I were at the same university. After discovering this, the accommodation turned into a mini-reunion!
Very cute cottage, neat and spacious.
Top-class accommodation. Easily accessible. Fantastic view and wonderful hospitality. Highly recommended.
Well-situated to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Very welcoming hosts make one feel right at home. A comfortable haven to return to each day. The stunning setting makes the journey to the Guest Farm a worthwhile trip on its own!
Beautiful surroundings. Excellent value for money!
Friendly welcome and hospitable. Pleasant place that makes you feel at home as if you were at your own home. Everything in place and only necessary to take your own food with you. Beautiful setting!
Rene is very peaceful and helpful. We had a good rest before we continued our journey.
Lovely, would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, peaceful setting.
Beautiful place with a cozy log fire.
Very pleasant. No complaints!
