The hostess quickly came back and let me know I was welcome. She went out of her way and waited for me. Thank you very much for a safe haven on the long road.

The starry splendor is astonishing. The old-fashioned donkey stove for hot water. Fireplace in the kitchen creates an atmosphere that many people have forgotten and other people long for. Wow!
A good stopover between the coast and Botswana.
Gannahoek is the perfect getaway if you are looking for silence, peace and rest in the heart of the Karoo. An old farmhouse that was fully furnished with a wonderful old-time nostalgia was the perfect place to sleep for our family. You cannot drive through the Karoo and not spend the night there. Thank you Gannahoek!

Friendly welcome. Place was neat and clean. If you are looking for silence and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Gannahoek Self-catering is the right place. We only stayed overnight on our way to Cape Town. Would recommend and visit again anytime.

The silence and environment impressed.
No electricity, which was interesting. But you can still do everything you need to, so it's not bad at all. My kids thought it was fun. The host Ena is extremely helpful and friendly.
