316 guests' feedbackVery neat and clean, eating place definitely a bonus if you don't want to drive further.
We arrived late and we were received with kindness.
We slept well!
Great beautiful place, excellent service. Staff are great! Very neat.
I would definitely recommend the guest house. Very clean and tidy. And the food was delicious.
Yes. I did ask for a room with 2 beds as it was me and my dad, he is in a wheelchair. I was helped in that regard. Peggy was very helpful. Wheelchair access to the room was difficult but not impossible. I still appreciate it and I realize they are not wheelchair accessible but still helped me. Just note that the hair dryer does not fit into the "plug". An elderly lady who was in the kitchen early came to my rescue with an "old plug".
We always joke that this is our halfway house to the Cape. Staff always friendly and just feel at home.
Had a great time. Just a pity for the government's incompetence regarding load shedding The guest house is highly recommended.
Very good customer service and very good place to stay. Will definitely stay there again.
Yes, we were comfortable thank you.
Yes, it was very nice and I would recommend Garden Corner to anyone as a nice and safe stay.
Very good, thank you.
Was comfortable and nice for a one night stay - the restaurant also makes it very cozy and a nice seat in the shade.
Had a nice stay and slept well.
Conveniently and safely located.
Poor WiFi connection.
We had a nice stay, but the place we stayed in needs maintenance work. The place is safe and ideal for an overnight stay. We found the WiFi a bit slow. I would like to suggest that a more "personal" approach can be considered by the guest house, such as e.g. A Whatsapp to confirm the address before guests' arrival and a Whatsapp after the stay wishing guests a safe journey.
Very nice stay. Great service and exactly what was needed after a day of long driving.
Stay was pleasant and dinner was tasty.
To stay there is fine, but the restaurant is terrible. I suspect the food is frozen lamb curry, which did not taste right, and the tomato stew as well. We got cold plates of food which needed to be warmed in the microwave.
Yes, thank you, during load shedding there was no alternative. It can get attention.
Water bottle empty first night. Previous guest's used sock is still lying on the ground. Bed creaks with every movement. Second night's cost more expensive.
The service at the guest house is excellent and the staff are very friendly! The breakfast was of high quality!
I had a nice stay.
Worst experience so far in a guest house. Owner absent on arrival and tired. Braai facilities only for certain rooms even if they were not used by the other guests, we could not use them either. Receptionist did her best to accommodate us but the absentee owner made no effort to be a true host/wife. Will definitely never stay there again.
Issues with the gas geyser. The gas needed to be replaced first, and then it wasn't turned on either. Poor water pressure as well. The room was tidy but I wouldn't have paid that price per person. I feel it was an overcharge for what was received. The kitchen is divided in 2, with one part where you enter and the other part in the second bedroom, so it's not effective at all. The TV quality and options were also not good. The WiFi quality was very poor. Poor security, no burglar bars or security door. All in all, only the minimum requirements were met.
There is only 1 person who has to handle the reception as well as the waitress and the kitchen cook. This made the service very slow.
Had a great stay.
Aircon was the best in that hot place.
Had such great service from LeeAnn, this lady makes your stay feel like this is a 5 star hotel. We booked straight away for our return journey because of her.
Had a wonderful stay.
I was spoiled with dinner that was served literally on my lap!
Safe parking. Great neighbourhood. Very friendly service. Very tasty lamb curry served on a Sunday evening. We are so happy.
Will stay there again.
Excellent value for money. Beautiful rooms and reception rooms. Spacious, comfortable. Staff are particularly friendly and helpful.
We were overwhelmed with hospitality and help from friendly staff upon our arrival. Had a great night's sleep in this beautiful, neat place! Value for money.
It was very nice, the staff were very considerate.
Stayed 2x at Garden Corner Guesthouse, very lovely stay, easy check-in, safe parking, rooms have space, neat and clean. Everything one needs. Will come again. Thank you very much.
After a long and exhausting journey from Johannesburg it was wonderful to be able to relax.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Garden Court Guesthouse. It feels completely like you have come home. The place is equipped with everything needed for an overnight stay. It's comfortable, clean and very safe. The staff is very friendly. Will definitely stay there again.
Clean, tidy and friendly service!
The bathroom fixtures were a bit shaky.
Very convenient to N1 and lovely garden to relax in. A charming and efficient hostess/manager. Restaurant on premises - delicious Karoo lamb curry.
The place is quite a distance from the town, which makes it a nice and peaceful location to take a break from your long drive.
We were helped very quickly with the booking. Was able to check in at 8h in the evening and drive again the next morning for 4h without any problems. Secure parking, comfortable room for parents with small baby.
A really beautiful place for a stopover. Very neat and relaxing.
Easy to find, nice stay. For price it is good.
Our dog was free to explore the garden, which was good as she had been in the car for most of the day.
The room is very good for overnight but will not work for a longer stay. Although we were warned that it is not a self-catering unit, there were cutlery and braai facilities which were good. The cutlery had to be washed again, we had the impression that the unit had not been used for a long time.
No top sheet on bed - had to sleep between bottom sheet and mattress protector. Bathroom not very clean.
See stars.
The only negative aspect is the food. Pizza was raw and not really edible.
Thanks, had a nice rest after a hard day's work.
No staff during breakfast and dinner.
Was clean and tidy. Friendly reception.
Aircon not working in the Lily suite and water for shower went cold halfway through.
We arrived late withb2 kids and a dog.
Unfortunately gas geyser in shower did not work and no one im to contact. The wooden floors creak loudly and neighbors in the room next door struggle to unlock doors late at night which sounds like someone is trying to get into our room.
This stay was really disappointing for what we paid for Garden Corner Guesthouse. The unit is very cramped and the dish sink is basically part of the second bedroom where our 3 teenage sons had to sleep. The private braai facilities were dirty and neglected. We then went to eat in the restaurant, but the pizza was still a bit raw and we waited a long time for our food. We couldn't use our private porch at all because there was a laundry line full of laundry strung across the table. The garden in front of the guest house is very beautiful and the receptionist very friendly. Sorry, but I do not recommend this accommodation at all.
The place is cramped for 5 people with only 1 bathroom. Lots of maintenance to be done inside and out.
The place is quiet and clean, the only problem was the TV and Wi-Fi.
Arranging breakfast was a problem. With a return ride, pay R50 less for more convenience.
Beaufort West had a severe thunderstorm on Friday 29/12 when we arrived at 14:30. The room we booked was inaccessible due to a deep pool of water that could not drain within 3 hours. We were offered another room inside the house but it is 2 star standard and was not very clean, the bathroom was fair. The dinner (mutton curry) was excellent. I recommend that the website visit the place and inspect it yourself.
Place can improve. Shower blocked, water does not drain. Swimming pool unusable. In Karoohitte one could not cool down.
It's not what it looked like on the website. Not value for money at all.
Comfortable stay - efficient and friendly host.
Dog friendly helped a lot.
It is very quiet and peaceful. Plekkie is small but ideal for an overnight stay, however not quite suitable for a longer stay. There is no sink for the small kitchen in the unit. Any possible dishes will have to be washed in the house.
Nice and quiet. Cool and lovely garden for the hot summer evenings. On arrival there was a strong perfume smell in the room - maybe air freshener which was a bit overwhelming. Had to keep the windows and door open for fresh air until we went to bed. Bedding a bit tired and thin with a few dirty finger marks on it. But overall a good place to stay.
We were satisfied after a long journey, we just wanted to relax.
It's my 2nd time, going to see me again, many times.
The stay was fine, was all I needed. The young man who attended to me just showed the room and that was it. I had to ask about the keys and what to do with it when I leave.
Nice for a one night stay, great lamb chops.
Although rooms are not well maintained or cleaned.
Bit disappointed when we arrived the room had not been cleaned properly and we had to sweep out the room ourselves. When we booked out the next morning at 08h00 there was nobody on duty to hand the keys and remote to.
We will never stay there again.
Barking dogs!!!!!!
Wifi didn't work properly. Room was not properly clean. . Remote was sticky from rarely being cleaned. . "Secure" parking is only behind a gate, no cameras or guard. . Single bed had very old bedding and under mattress two planks for stability. . Other vehicle use my parking spot without knowing who it was.
Shower does not work well, soap dish rusted, finishing of room neglected. Positive: Good mattress.
Staff was very friendly and professional. Assisted us with everything that we needed.
Rooms were neat and clean.
Friendly reception.
We were kindly received and it was very clean and tidy, definitely recommend Garden Corner Guesthouse.
The manager and owner were both very helpful. Check-in is until 22:00 so that's convenient.
We have traveled far and recommend Garden Corner for a good night's rest.
Everything was fine and correct.
Very neat, just a pity that we didn't have hot water for showering. We were also traveling with a caravan and parking very limited and not really appropriate, although we mentioned beforehand that we were traveling with a caravan and needed power afterwards. Otherwise, very comfortable.
Lovely place, very quiet and peaceful with enough privacy.
It had been very pleasant. Would happily recommend to anyone exploring the area and looking to stay overnight.
Very friendly welcome by the manager. Room has everything one needs. Everything was very clean and tidy. Very hospitable and comfortable place and people.
But overall it was good sleeping there.
Good overnight stop along the way. We were well received and everything was tidy. Nice quiet area next to the busy N1.
Rooms clean and comfortable, reception on arrival friendly.
Friendly and helpful service.
The room was spacious, conveniently located and comfortable, but the WiFi only worked in the evening and not the next day. The one bed was also squeaky and looks like it is very old and in need of repair.
Has all the necessary amenities for our overnight needs. Located in a nice quiet part of town.
The reception staff talk too much, it's unprofessional. The finish and layout of the rooms is poor.
I asked and confirmed by phone with the owner for dinner as well as breakfast. When we got there the host didn't know anything. At least we could have grilled meat then, because he had enough meat packages. We didn't have breakfast, after I confirmed it. The room we got and the one in the photo are not the same at all. The beds are very old and the springs of the mattress sting you when you turn over and the mattresses of the bunk beds are not up to standard either. The shower doesn't work properly either. It's either too hot or too cold. It had not been a good experience at all. The parking area is also very, very small. Vehicles can be easily rammed. I really think you can take the guest house off your reservation list for the town. The lamps also did not work and neither did the fridge in the room. The headboard of the double bed was also loose and fell on our heads. We also drank from beer mugs when we asked for glasses (beer glasses). The towels you dry off with look like face towels instead of bath towels!
The parking is very tight and limited. The neighbors' dogs bark right through the night. There was no hanging closet to hang clothes in.
As always a warm welcome. They also don't mind receiving you late.
Very neat, and good value for money. Will recommend.
Value for money. Awesome and will definitely stay again. Friendly staff and clean guesthouse. Lovely garden and homely feeling too. Breakfast was very very good.
Very nice and neat.
We moved from Johannesburg to Vishoek. We were looking for a place where we could spend the night. We had a problem with our move and had to postpone one day. We were helped immediately. The accommodation is fantastic and I would highly recommend it. PS the venison pie was top notch.
Good service, only stayed overnight.
Braai grills can be cleaned after guests leave. It is unpleasant to get a grid full of fat and hair.
Staff very friendly. Place clean and well maintained.
Ideale oornagplek van Pretoria na Kaapstad.
Enough beds for family of 5!
Slowed down a bit. Shower could be cleaner.
This was just a simple stay over.
But unfortunately we were only outside and lots of spiders and cockroaches everywhere. It was unfortunately a bit inconvenient. People who work there are really nice. Beds were uncomfortable.
The unit we slept in was very poor and very old. The shower hardly worked. The bedding was old and shabby. The premises were not neat and tidy. I would like to see the website implement a system where we can know what standard the accommodation will be. I asked for a unit that is more expensive. Price is not always an indicator of quality and may also just be big? It is always easy to talk to your friendly staff and therefore the website will always remain my preferred provider. Thank you very much and may you enjoy a Prosperous 2021.
Very satisfied with the professional service, friendliness and helpfulness of staff and lovely silence that a tired person longs for after a long day. Thank you very much.
We were very satisfied with the service from our host. I also liked the small shop at the guesthouse. Slept well. Will go back.
We were fantastically welcomed! We had a big trailer and they provided us with safety. The room was fantastic.
A comfortable home away from home venue with pleasant and helpful staff. Awesome location which shows that care has been invested. Very affordable for what is on offer. Accessible and safe!
I could relax and store the frozen food safely for the night.
Great place to split a long trip, slept very well and had a great breakfast, would recommend this place to future travellers.
We spent a quiet and very comfortable night at Garden Corner Guesthouse and especially enjoyed the air-con after a long, hot day in the car. Have already recommended the place to friends.
Clean, tidy room and bathroom with secure parking. Friendly reception.
The house was very neat and our rooms beautifully clean.
Spacious, comfortable and quiet. Some of the linen a bit worn and tatty. Some nice hospitality touches e.g. tuckshop and meals available. Could benefit from a couple of garden chairs outside the unit for relaxing. Lovely garden. Very good value for money.
Will definitely stay there again. Thank you!
The double bed sleeps wonderfully. Baby and I slept there. But my mother had a hard time sleeping on the single bed. She says the mattress is too thin. Other than that it was a nice evening. Very friendly staff and very neat rooms.
Spacious room and bathroom with an air conditioner that works when it's 40 degrees outside.
Would recommend Garden Corner Guesthouse and will use the services again.
Very nice clean place. Good beds. Hot water at showers a bit of a challenge to get used to, but was well informed. Air con in room not working and lamp was touch and go, think there is a loose wire. But nothing serious. Very nice stay, will use again.
Comfortable, neat and everything needed in a quiet environment.
Nice room with nice en-suite bathroom and everything one needs. Clean and tidy, although there were some pillowcases, which were not all 100% clean.
Have fun and be safe.
Very safe and convenient, thank you.
I wasn't overly impressed, but could recommend GCG as it was a little more reasonably priced. I did not like the locks on the doors, though I felt safe. The bathroom gas system dropped me a few times. It was clean and sufficed for my needs, but unlikely to go back there with a partner. It was quiet, and I got away early without any problems. Most of my friends probably looking a bit more upmarket.
Showers must please get attention- mixers don't work between hot and cold at all. Bathrooms could do with a decent cleaning from ceiling to floor.
Wall plugs don't work! Water cold. Wasted gallons of water waiting for water to heat up. Didn't get hot at all. Cell phones next day saw it didn't charge. Hair dryer not working or so was the wall plug.
Neat accommodation and safe environment. Power is a problem, if it trips it is a struggle to get on. Tripped in the morning (03:30), after calling we were told to wait until 06:30. No resident contact person or other person who can come out. We just had to pack in the dark and get ready to drive early.
Then E-tv didn't work, the only channel my children could watch and no one could help us. For R1000 a night I expected better.
Olive Tree Room not up to standard for what you pay. If someone is in the shower you cannot open the front door. You stare straight into the shower. No door or partition to the bathroom. Shame won't sleep there again.
We didn't even get a proper message back from Renate. I pre-booked breakfast for the morning of our departure by text to her and she didn't reply. Didn't get the room I booked due to my puppy Had to use a room with a backdoor and there is no light to even try to find keys and whatnot to open a door. Moreover, they did not even try to prepare the room for our overnight stay. It was cold and not inviting at all. The water in the carafe was old and undrinkable. We didn't even try to make coffee. I do not use a bathroom sink for my kitchen purposes. It was very disappointing! Definitely a no from me.
We still use Garden Corner Guesthouse every time, excellent service, so nice and relaxed after a long journey, even my dogs enjoy the stay there, and can move freely. Would recommend anytime.
Ons het ons verblyf baie geniet. Dankie.
Thank you very much, you have a beautiful house with the most beautiful garden and tranquility.
See stars.
Was very friendly and hospitable, even though we were slow on our route and arrived late. Would love to visit there for longer.
Clear and neat. It accommodated teenagers and a baby. Friendly staff.
Fantastic, hospitable reception. Very neat. Will definitely recommend and visit again.
Had a very nice stay, comfortable place for my dogs and very safe. Will stay there again.
Will stay there again as other B&B's are pricing themselves out of our price range.
Could recommend sleeping over here.
Really hospitable and friendly welcome.
Friendly welcome and close to the middle of town to buy food. Quiet, clean suburb with cows in the streets.
We were kindly received, our rooms were spacious, tidy and well equipped. All arrangements regarding keys and gates are well explained. The water was hot and the beds comfortable.
We were kindly received at the guest house. The unit we stayed in was clean and tidy. We had a great rest after a long day on the road and the breakfast the next morning was delicious.
The hospitality and welcome was good. We slept well in a clean place.
Will use this service more often. Couldn't have asked for better. Thank you.
We were kindly received. The room was great. The guest house had a power problem and there was no kettle in the room, but there was an urn just outside the room door where guests could draw boiling water. We will use the guest house again.
Really enjoyed the Garden Corner Guesthouse. Irrigation went off untimely from noon to late evening. The area has water scarcity and we felt water was being wasted. We would like to suggest that the system be reviewed and only areas that need water be led wet. The advice comes from a Landscaper in JHB.
Was pleasant. Forgot my cell phone charger there. Is there any way I can get him back?
Good value for money for a large family.
It was nice, but not full DStv as advertised.
Neat place and friendly people. It is ideal for a short trip.
Would stay there again as they were willing to accommodate dogs.
There was no gas for the gas shower. First had to replace the gas bottle itself before we could take a hot shower.
The male receptionist could be friendlier. With both rooms, there were frustrating problems with the door locks, as was the front gate lock. Then it is advertised that pay TV is available, but there was only M-Net.
I booked for 4 adults. We got a single room with a double and bunk bed. Quite an argument about which 2 adults got to sleep on the cot. Maybe my mistake. Don't understand how I should have booked otherwise.
The unit we stayed in needs a lot of attention to the roof inside the room. It was also very dusty and the person who received us was not friendly at all. A very nice garden and facilities in general.
We stayed there for 2 nights. On the Friday evening when we returned there was no hot water to shower. Saturday morning still no hot water. There was also no one available to complain to, nor could hand over the key in person. Left the guest house at 9am and still no staff available.
We were left unattended, no water in the morning and we were told to leave the remote in the post box when checking out.
Would not recommend this place. Rather stay away. Host was not very welcoming. When we arrived at the venue he just stood at the door and did not say a word. Very uncomfortable welcome. Pictures on the website make the rooms seem nicer and bigger than they actually are. Bathroom was run down and dirty with rust stains wherever you look. Towels were very old and hard. The bed felt like it was not clean and felt like we weren't the first people to sleep in the sheets that day. Above the bed, on the ceiling, there was a black object of sorts which on first glance looks like a security camera (this made us feel exceptionally uneasy). Upon inspection we noticed that it was not. We could barely sleep at all because as we felt extremely uncomfortable & unsafe. We left at 05:00 as we could not stand the place anymore.
We slept and had a great time. Will definitely stay there again.
I'd recommend it.
We had a wonderful stay. We only got there after 20:00, but they received us kindly.
We were very impressed by your guesthouse and we will definitely be back. We recommend it.
Was tranquil and friendly. The rooms were spacious and neat.
The room is spacious, comfortable and clean. Everything needed was there. Friendly people in the Northern Cape. Can really recommend the accommodation.
Stay was just an overnight stay.
Would have been nice if they included breakfast, but otherwise very good!
Very friendly service. They were prepared for the dog and cot for the baby. Would stay there again.
We received a hearty welcome at Garden Cottage. Our overnight accommodation was clean and very neat, and obviously very reasonable. Will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you, Beaufort West, for the friendly welcoming!
Friendly reception, room beautiful and clean. Pet-friendly and the swimming pool was a bonus for the kids.
Reception was very friendly and helpful. Place is safe and the rooms nice.
It was a pleasure to stay there. Everything was perfect. Very friendly reception.
Great! will stay there again.
Sleeping facilities very good. Maintenance of wall plugs, toilet roll holder, shower head and gas water heater could improve.
Had a great stay and delicious dinner at Karoo Deli.
We were upgraded to a family unit without any extra costs (2 rooms with a double bed and 2 single rooms). Kitchen equipment as needed. DStv not active. Beautiful, almost "old school" house with friendly reception and service. Quite "deep" in town. Luckily with a GPS everything is possible. Will go again.
Close to town, easy to locate.
It is very seldom that a place makes you feel at home, well from the moment I booked in to the moment I booked out, it felt like I was at home. Simone was an excellent host and I will go there without any hesitation.
Very cute.
We had to park outside in the street on arrival. As Gautengers, it was not acceptable to us. There really could have been enough coffee powder and milk for 2. Otherwise, everything was good. Slept well.
Very pleasant.
We only stayed one night. Very neat self-catering unit. The TV channels can only be watched and the TV reception is very poor.
Very cute place. Guests only need to be informed in advance of the additional R50 to be paid per pet. The place advertises as pet friendly so there shouldn't be an additional, unexpected fee!
The rooms are comfortable, clean and tidy. There is a small fridge, coffee, tea, sugar etc. and the room had warm bedding and electric blankets which was very nice. Everything went well until the Sunday morning when all I wanted with all my heart was a warm comfortable shower. It was a disaster to say the least. I was told the night before by the manager to turn on the hot tap first to ensure the water stays hot. Well, after standing outside the shower in the cold for 15 minutes with only the hot faucet turned on, I realized it wasn't going to get hot and tried another faucet. It was the faucet that was supposed to be the hot faucet anyway, so of course the cold faucet didn't produce any results either. After a further 10 minutes I called the reception, freezing cold and quite frustrated and irritated, expressing my displeasure at the total fiasco and absence of hot water. After a few minutes an attendant came to help and informed me (who was now white hot with frustration) that they always struggle with that problem in that room (why don't people sort it out if they get so many complaints ?). After the hot tap was turned on again, there was finally hot water to shower with. I just figure that for that price - you don't want to stand in the cold for half an hour struggling with ice cold water on a winter's morning before you get some hot water from the tap.
Friendly reception. Neat rooms. Centrally located.
It was quick service, and even though I took my dog with me, we had no problems. It was a clean and big room.
Will stay here again, very nice, quiet and safe parking. Reception could have been friendlier, but facilities are good.
Clean, spacious room. Electric blankets on bed was very nice.
We had a great time. Good location. Quiet area and friendly service.
Our visit was very nice. The space was just big enough for us, the place was very neat and we enjoyed it. Would love to stay there again should we pass through Beaufort West. Thank you very much,.
No complaints about the room and the amenities inside. Everything was clena and neat. The person who helped us when we arrived was not very friendly and couldn't answer our questions clearly. Satellite TV is jus one channel that jumps around between M-Net and Supersport 1 on a tiny TV high against the ceiling. If you open the door of the room you look directly into the shower, so if someone is uses the shower the other person cannot enter or leave the room. I recommend an partition or a swing door. The WiFi doens't work in the outside rooms.
Interesting place to stay.
Was lovely to relax after a long drive. Just wasn't very happy sleeping in a bedroom where the other people had to walk through our room during the night to get to the toilet. Wooden floors squeak and I feel they could have notified us of the problem. Other than that everything was fine.
Some plugs did not work. Noises throughout the night from the plumbing. No comfortable seating. TV barely functional.
When I made the booking, I stated that we had pets travelling with us. The room I made the booking on wasn't pet friendly, and they moved us to a pet friendly room. They sent me the quotation for the stay in that pet friendly room with my pets. I paid the full quoted amount. On arriving at the guest house, I was told I had to pay another R100 as I did not mention about the pets. Now this is Beaufort West, and they do not have card machines. I had to drive to town to draw money and pay for the pets. This is absolutely not on. You are tired, and do not need this type of surprises.
See star rating.
Did not feel welcome at all, unprofessional reception. Front window's blinds were damaged and could see through from the outside, base cover of bed had dirty marks, dirty teaspoon set out, bathroom had no door therefore no privacy when using the shower. The shower is right opposite the unit's door. Furthermore, we had to borrow the key of the unit that we booked to the receptionist to open another door on the premises!
Would not recommend it.
Will return anytime. Very hospitable and helpful. World class service, they went out of their way to make us feel at home.
Thank you for kindly waiting for us, even though we arrived late in Beaufort West. Rooms were beautifully neat and clean. The fact that the rooms were nice and spacious with 3 single beds for our 3 teenagers was a bonus!
Far enough away from the main road so that you don't hear the traffic. Everything was neat and clean with more than enough space so that you don't feel cramped. Friendly and hospitable.
We traveled with a small baby of 7 weeks and had a baby cot at our disposal. Would recommend Garden Corner Guesthouse anytime.
Great facilities, spacious and beautifully decorated rooms. All the facilities you need in the room, even aircon. Would stay there anytime.
Feel free to see the stars.
Many thanks to Garden Corner Guest House for our lovely and comfortable overnight stay. The Guest House is away from the busy town in a quiet and peaceful street. Our overnight place was wonderfully cool in the intense heat. Thank you also for your hospitality and good service after we arrived much later than planned. We look forward to making use of your generosity again in the future.
We were warmly received and had a nice stay. Everything was clean and tidy. Leak in the wall between the two rooms. Didn't cause discomfort, but can cause damage in the long run.
The accommodation was easy to find on the website, to book and to find in Beaufort West. Good service and a comfortable room. Excellent value for money!
I was very impressed with the staff who welcomed me and the good way they made me feel at home.
Nice stay. Had problems with power but owner quickly sorted it out. Friendly service.
Farm atmosphere is very nice.
The guest house was neat and clean and comfortable. The room and bathroom were spacious. The location was good. Not too far from the N1, but far enough not to hear the traffic.
Our room smelled of braai smoke from the previous guests, so that put a damper on our enjoyment. The aircon was a big advantage. Neat place with friendly service.
I have a long wheelbase bakkie. Parking a real problem. A trailer will br a huge problem. I also felt insecure with my belongings in the van.
Better communication of the braai packs' availability and facilities on site as well as overnight caretaking can be looked at (there is no one on site after 22:00 pm).
Friendly staff and good value for money.
See stars here.
My daughter and I were there on New Year's Day and got a free bottle of champagne. After our delicious meal at 4 Sheep Restaurant, we ended the evening with a swim and champagne in the pool - lovely. Origen satisfied with everything.
Very nice guest house, with a large garden for Frummels to run around too!
Recommendation - it was 35°C 20:30 when we got there - it would have been very considerate to turn on the aircon before we arrived as we had agreed the time we would arrive. The bathroom door handle did not work. Toilet flush system also did not work.
This was our second time staying here. The first time was much better for us than now. We slept well, and the location is well located, away from the busy N1. However, we had no hot water. Don't know if we will stay there again.
No hot water on freezing winter night. Gas geyser loses a lot of water so water became cold very quickly. Wall-mountede heater is fitted worng way around - so it doen't heat room. Warm blanket on king-size looks like single bed blanket. Kettle very much soiled - I rinsed it 5 times with no success. So we couldn't have coffee. If this is the only place available I would just keep driving.
Was quite easy to find the guest house. Traveled by motorcycle and they accommodated safe parking right in front of our room.
Daar is goed van my kar afgesteel. Ek het die eienaar gekontak daaroor en daar is vir my gesê dat dit seker langs die pad afgeval het. Dit kon egter nie afgeval het nie, want dit was vasgeplak en daar is krapmerke op my kar soos iemand dit afgehaal het.
With my arrival at Garden Corner we found out that the room that was made available to us only had shower facilities. To get to the room, we would have had to move over loose, fine gravel with a wheelchair and at the room there are 3 more steps. I was extremely disappointed. I spoke to the owner on the phone and in the middle of the conversation I was cut off. It took a lot of effort to get onto the bed seeing as it was so high. I couldn't reach the single beds at all, seeing as there is no space between the beds to approach it in a wheelchair. I will never stay at this guesthouse again. I even have some pictures as proof to show you how inconvenient it was. I have a few pictures as proof to show how inconvenient it was. Once again, people have no idea what wheelchair friendly or accessible facilities are about.
We slept really well.
The facility is more suited to bigger groups of families and guest house lovers who like old things and rustic finishes. The kettle was dirty, which indicates the general problem with service.
Warm water in stort werk nie.
We were 5 adults and a 3 year old. We had a great time staying and swimming. The air conditioning in the room is a bonus.
The service was really very good and we really enjoyed the overnight stay..
We enjoyed our overnight stay. The hostess kindly received us and our 2 dogs upon our arrival. The TV in the rooms was a plus and the beds were comfortable. There were only problems with the gas heater which was faulty and did not heat the bathroom water consistently. We would love to stay here again.
Would recommend Garden Coner anytime. Beautifully clean and very friendly customer service.
We were able to put together delicious food ourselves, and even cool off in the pool. The air conditioning in the room was a winner for the severe heat. Really a lovely old house which is very well equipped and ensures a peaceful and comfortable overnight stay. Friendly and exceptionally good service.
See the stars.
Would recommend it! Very clean and tidy.
Clean, safe and nice and quiet after a long drive.
Very neat overnight accommodation with the option to even have a barbecue in the evening with a small self-catering kitchen. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
Sine the stars.
Very accommodating to needs. Very helpful. We have already booked 2 times there and also now for family.
Comfortable rooms. Air conditioning would be a big plus!
Since I was left as a wife with my teenage son, I slept restlessly. There are no burglar bars in front of the windows and the bathroom window latch does not engage firmly. The shower taps were so tightly closed that I could not get them open and was therefore obliged to take a very hot shower. I would prefer coffee and sugar to be in original small packaging, which is more hygienic. However, I must mention that the place was very clean.
It's a shame there were so many problems.
We didn't get any breakfast because apparently we had to arrange it in advance.
They advertise a bath (it is there), but it may not be used - R500 fine. No provision is made for smokers on the premises - R 500 fine. I had to stand in the street smoking like a homeless person with nowhere to dispose of your stubs except to throw them on the street. There is no proper parking. There is no staff on site. There is no restaurant on site. The bedside lamp on one side of the bed is only for "show" (no power plug at hand) and on the other side of the bed there is no switch - you have to pull out the power plug if you want to turn off the light. No guest soap or amenities as one would expect from a guest house.
The toilet was broken. The shower faucet has apparently been leaking for years. The shower is filthy, the floors are filthy, but the bedding was clean.
No understanding for this state of affairs from the guesthouse.
I realize that certain things were totally out of the owner's control. We shared a house with a group of people on a course. The group was terribly noisy until late in the evening and we could not access the kitchen at all. The next morning the kitchen was a total mess and we just packed up and went to have breakfast elsewhere. The room was uncomfortable in the sense that there was no hanging space. Faucets are mislabeled (hot/cold) and the bathroom light does not work separately from the rest of the room. A horrible experience.
Beautiful and peaceful place.
Good option for overnight to rest before traveling further!
I would recommend Garden Corner guest house to anyone. It is neat, comfortable and located in a quiet area.
We had a nice stay. The boiler was just dirty and hot water pressure was poor.
Thank you for using your facilities!
Quiet, clean, beautiful and peaceful... just what you need after 1000 km behind you. Will definitely stay there again!
Wonderful! Enjoyed staying in the tranquility of nature, and thank you, the room was fantastic!
There is no noise and you can rest well after a long drive, the environment also looks very safe and I will definitely stay there again in the future. Summer time in the Karoo is hot and the air conditioner ensured that it was nice and cool in the room. The reception was very friendly and made you feel right at home.
We had a very nice stay.
Definitely a winner!

It is close to everything and very safe!
Lovely, spacious and beautiful and clean. Owner like an old friend and very nice and helpful. Garden is beautiful with beautiful big roses. Our stay at Garden Corner Guest House was truly pleasant. For us three adults it was 5 star!
The place is stunning inside and offers good value for money. It's very neat inside and clean. My wife and I will book again when we go to Kimberley and Johannesburg.
Would stay here again anytime. Wonderful people. Thank you!
Everything you expect from an overnight stay. Congratulations.
Everything was very clean and tidy. The sliding door did bother me.
A wonderful, lovely, spacious and tidy house. It was lovely to spend the night there. Lovely garden to relax in and the kids could swim after the long drive. I can definitely recommend it.
Good value for money received.
Everything was neat and in order.

Excellent, especially the price!
Neat, clean and a nice place to stay.
Definitely a place to stay on your trip. It's really safe and well equipped.
Very easy process from booking to payment, all was in place, thank you.
We had a very nice stay and we had a lot of privacy. It is ideal for families with young children because of the space, garden and pool!
Garden Corner is a good choice for overnight accommodation on your long way back from holiday.
Welcomed by host Renata who was attentive to all our needs. Our stay in the family unit was most comfortable and restful.
My wife ended up in a wheelchair shortly before the holidays. They accommodated us by giving us a room that was more wheelchair accessible. We really appreciated it.
Our stay was comfortable and peaceful. The air conditioning was a bonus after a very hot day in the Karoo.
Very quiet ...
There are just an awful lot of mosquitoes, may need to provide nets or repellent!
Owners away so no warm welcome, they left the keys in box when departed - so no friendly hospitality. Unit was cold - and the shower constantly dripped but we could not turn it off. Garden run down and looked neglected. Disappointing.
Fortunately, grandma and I were alone in the house, but think it would have been a bit "awkward" if there were others as well, because everyone shares one bedroom.
We didn't know about the braai suits and would have enjoyed having a braai, otherwise everything was very nice and comfortable!
Would recommend it.

Nice quiet. Rooms big and clean. Suggest to improve TV reception. Otherwise very nice.
The shower needs a shelf for soap. The TV is too high for the area, and the couch sits awkwardly. The air conditioning was great.
The photos are very misleading - master bedroom looks nice and that's where it ends!
Very good!
Everything was well organised, clean & the staff were very friendly, thank you.
This is a no-problem place: quiet, safe, clean, with friendly host and wife, and special arrangements were made for us without difficulty. We would love to stay here again.
I would recommend the Guest House and would definitely comeback. The owner was very accommodating and very friendly. The rooms were clean with clean rooms and bedding. Ablution facilities were maintained to a very high standard. Liked the air-conditioners.
Will certainly recommend the guest house to friends and family.
Would definitely recommend, rested and slept comfortably. If there is what you need. Thank you
We enjoyed it!
The floors and shower floor were not too clean.
