Our stay was excellent even though very short. We have no complaints about anything provided. In fact, it was all better than expected. I would recommend to anybody with the proviso they are happy with on-street parking. The rechargeable globes were also very dull or not working, but we did have our own magento lantern. Having said that, the lamp left of the stove was amazing during load shedding.
A few pointers: • New pillows for the bed - the "raw eggs" are way beyond their sell by date. A cup of milk in the fridge/250ml box of long life milk I don't think is too much to ask - there is coffee/tea/oil/sugar, why not milk? New dishcloth - he is clean but old. How about a TV?

Beautiful place, spacious and the bathroom is beautiful. The long narrow corridor to the Cottage is now for people and luggage - but that was just a complaint from my friend.
Only the loadshedding is a problem and there were no rechargeable lights. Very neatly laid out. Value for money.

We are a large family and needed suitable accommodation for us all. Pleasantly surprised to find such a welcoming home with enough room for us all.
We stayed here on a business trip. The house is clean, spacious and incredibly beautiful. There is everything you will need. All problem is that there is no safe parking, only street parking. And for us as photographers it's just a problem. The house is also next to a play school, so it gets noisy during the day. Furthermore, everything was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay here.
If you want a clean bed and warm water you can go here, but don't expect a working kettle, a working stove or working Wi-Fi. No plugs for charging your electronic devices. Unsatisfactory product, but good service.

We stayed in the Main House. This was absolutely perfect! Great location, and large bedrooms. Lovely courtyard and outdoor furniture for braai. The house was even much better than on the photos.
Would recommend Garden House and Cottage as good location to stay over with the majority of shops and town interests within walking distance.
The house has two problems, firstly the master bedroom bathroom is hidden in the garage, it is not optimal. Secondly, in the advertisement for this house, all the bedrooms that do not have single beds are indicated as being equipped with "queen-size" beds. None of these 3 beds are queen size, all are regular double beds, which is disappointing and involves misrepresentation. Additionally, the mattress quality of 2 of the listed beds (master bedroom and back room) leaves much to be desired. Finally on the morning of departure there was no water in the house!
With load shedding, the pressure pump does not work! The power was off for 4 hours, tired driving and no water!. For sure, solar power or generator can be provided, just for the pressure pump. The next morning there was no water either, because the tank was empty, even though there was power! Pathetic! My husband got hold of the owner and demanded his money back! The fact that you have to park in the street with a fully packed car and we were far from it was not reassuring either!
I was very disappointed in the fact that we had no WiFi access, I reported it to Nicole the agent and until this hour received no feedback. One of our main reasons was that we were sleeping over because we would have online meetings and because the booking showed that WiFi was available, we assumed it would be suitable. Also the street parking was very risky, we thought that we would be able to drop off our important items and take them up to the accommodation, but it was such an awkward setup. So thanks, but no thanks for a next visit. We often drive via G. R and we always sleep over. And this our 1st time that I experience such unpleasant experience.

Garden Cottage is a wonderful place to stay for a couple. Safe, spacious and private. Everything you need is there and there is also a nice fireplace. Would stay there again anytime.

The visit there was short, but comfortable and convenient. On arrival we did have trouble accessing the premises as we missed the manager's WhatsApp in the morning.
This was some of the cheaper accommodation available in Graaff-Reinet. Ideal (economical) for a quick 1 night sleepover. The bedding and towels were spotless. And we slept great. Quiet and private the garden apartment. A few things to know just maybe: Parking not available, car must be parked in the street overnight. No TV or radio, no toilet spray. Well coffee and tea bags and sugar available, but no milk. Bring your own milk for drinking coffee. Kitchen bin lid was broken. And some of the cutlery was not washed clean. We had to wash the plates before we could eat. Salt and pepper would have been handy too. We just went to buy milk and salt and pepper at the Spar. But still worth it, price wise.
Well located, easily accessible. BUT: sink drain was blocked, owner said they wouldn't attend to it until the next morning after check-in. Had to live with the stench all night. Patio door could not unlock. Other persons on site had access to pool, we did not. Think it's unfair. Photos of living room and room were taken with wide angle lens, not as spacious as in photos. Only ONE 2 seater couch in front of a fireplace, no TV. There really could be at least 1 more easy chair please. Not everyone wants to sit on each other's laps. Bathroom does not have a door which makes it uncomfortable if the unit is shared. Although very clean, the overall experience was a huge disappointment. Owners should go live in their places themselves before they rent them out to realize the shortcomings. Poor response from owner to front door key not working and blockage of drain was disappointing. Someone could have been sent to attend immediately, not done.
This was not our first visit to Graaff-Reinet. Garden Cottage made this town special. The service is friendly and very good. Everything is as described on the website. It is so centrally situated, you are a walk away from coffee shops, restaurants and attractions. We loved it and will anytime chose this accommodation again. Thanks Nilene for everything.
For a quick overnight stay in Graaff-Reinet, Garden Cottage was ideal. Friendly service, very nice and well equipped apartment and definitely value for money.
Perfect spot from which to explore Graaff-Reinet, Valley of Desolation, etc. Cottage was roomy, comfortable, and supplied all our needs. Pity that it was so hot there during our stay, but air con in the cottage provided much relief.

Was really one big pleasure to stay here. Clean and convenient and everything you need. Within walking distance of the town centre. Beautiful church and Reinet House has so much history. Valley of Desolation is worth a visit. Restaurants good service and delicious food.

Very simple check-in, friendly service. Cottage fully equipped with basic kitchen supplies, sufficient for a short stay. Lovely surroundings, and owner kindly allowed us to park our car in their garage. Beautiful little town with lots of character.

Cottage had everything we needed. Spacious.
The residential unit is very well located nearby so that what Graaff-Reinet has to offer is easily accessible. The spacious apartment is at the back of the garden of the owner's residence and is well equipped with everything needed and therefore offers a tranquility and comfort that will be hard to beat. We were received generously and the service was very friendly and efficient. In short, the stay was exceptionally good value for money.

We had a very nice stay.
With our arrival it was terribly hot in Graaff-Reinet, but a very effective air conditioner quickly cooled our unit. Beautiful spacious unit with large living room and large bedroom and bathroom. Small veranda where we had a great braai that evening. The owner was very kind and immediately met all our requests - such as extra freezer facilities. It would be great to have 4 knives, forks, etc. instead of just 2 of each because one eats dinner and breakfast there. Furthermore, everything was more than we expected.
Can do with a Bible, tissues, hand cream and a sheet and blanket. Very hot to sleep under a duvet in summer! Furthermore, good value for money.

Everything was fine and convenient, except that the water did not want to get hot. A cold shower is not pleasant in winter. When they pay attention to it, then everything will be fine.

Beautiful cottage just around the corner from shops and eateries. The young couple who host you here are extremely friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay at Garden Cottage. The facility offers exceptional value for money. We can recommend it in any season. There is air-conditioning for hot summer days and a fireplace for cozy nights on cold winter days. Just a short walk around the block takes you to very good restaurants. Unfortunately your car must be parked in the street, but the cottage is very safe and private. We can highly recommend the Garden Cottage.

Good value, cottage in a pretty garden - perfect for our schauzer too to break a long journey in a pretty old town. Neat and clean, lovely linen! A few little things would be more welcoming: more than two tea bags, salt and pepper, coffee for the coffee pot.
Very large and comfy cottage. Had a walk though town, nice and quiet. Pick and Pay and Spar to replenish stocks. To eat out it is best to book as most of the places were fully booked for dinner (it was a weekend). It was boiling hot 36 degrees, so the air-con in the cottage was a lifesaver.

The room was at the back of the house. Quite an end to carry all your luggage. We had to carry almost everything out as there is only street parking and we were very surprised at all the security in such a small town.
The house is very pleasant, but attention is required with the following: The locks for fence and garage. Pipes lying in a half-dark corridor - stumbled upon this. Roof pit hanging loose. Animal faeces stench of the day. Surprised that there is no TV. Understand drought, but the garden is sloppy. Residence was offered for R500, account was R600.
We would have liked to watch TV, but the fireplace and WiFi made up for that.

The owner Nilene was so hospitable and accommodating, the cottage beautifully tidy, clean, private and with cozy decor and our vehicle also safe in a locked garage - we would highly recommend this accommodation for a family with a baby/with small children .
The owners are so kind and even made their garage available to us. The place is gorgeous, so beautiful and clean. The beds and bedding are comfy and we slept like logs.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in the freezing cold Graaff-Reinet. Garden Cottage is an exact description of the place. To one side in the garden and very private and peaceful. The hostess was friendly and helpful.
The accommodation is well looked after and comfortable. Nilene is a charming hostess and welcomed me and my 2 young sons early on a cold evening. She and her husband Will farms on a historical farm outside town where they also offer accommodation and tourist activities, like mountain biking.

Garden Cottages is well located and neat. The water in the taps smelled bad and was undrinkable, showering was also unpleasant. No alternative drinking water was provided. Even though there was coffee and tea, there wasn't much sugar, and no milk in the fridge. If Garden Cottage can fix these problems, I can recommend it to anyone.
The cottage has a great location, but access is a big issue. The little side gate that provides access to the property is locked with a chain and lock, and it's the most impractical setup I've ever come across. Every time you get to the gate you have to put arms full of luggage on the ground because you need two hands to open the lock and even then it is a struggle. Then you have to haul your luggage through the gate and put it on the ground again. The little corridor you have to walk through is very narrow and very uncomfortable if you're carrying luggage. Those are the practical problems. That said. The cottage is spacious, well-appointed and pleasant. If they can fix the gate issue it would be a big improvement. Parking in the street, didn't feel safe. WiFi insturctions weren't provided at arrival.
