16 guests' feedbackWe were a family of 5 adults. The cabin is spacious and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our hosts took time to give us a tour of the area and shared intersting facts. It's a perfect destination if you enjoy beach walks, hiking, fishing and offroading.
Absolutely wonderful, everyone was so friendly and a short walk across the street to the most amazing beach. The gardens are beautiful and so lush. We had a few issues getting there because of traffic and the rain, but the host was so understanding and accommodating. Thank you!
Basic affordable stay.
The toilet and shower were clean, but precarious plumbing and electrics. Sadly the beach, although across the road was filthy, but not the fault of the owner, Louie, who was friendly and helpful. I would not recommend a trip to Port St Johns.
Gecko's place had quick responses and a great camping site with green grass and lots of shade.
Ghekos Place is situated on the Wild Coast near Port St Johns. The cabin had all the necessary items needed for a stay, however, be prepared or its a long drive (~20 minutes plus) to the nearest shop, but guess that's the uniqueness of the place. You can sit back and unwind after a day's work or if on holiday even better all day. The beach is a short walk away. I hope to be back again.

Geckos Place has crept deep into our hearts. We were a family of 14 people who camped for 2 weeks. We take many beautiful memories together. The sound of the sea in our ears was fantastic. The beach is literally across the road. There was always hot water in the showers, but the whole group felt the bathrooms needed an urgent upgrade. The toilets often did not work. Joseph did come to solve the problem every time. The showers and toilets were not always clean and the roof leaks when it rains leaving no space for towels and clothes. Joseph was a stalwart in more ways than one, always ready to help. The campsite is fenced. We never felt unsafe. Patches, Uncle Louis' dog, spoiled us with regular camp visits. She is a beautiful animal and easily creeps into your heart. The local people of Port St. Johns is friendly, helpful and good-natured. There are so many beautiful things to see. Geckos Place has great potential. Uncle Louis, we had a great stay, just think it might be time for a bathroom upgrade.
It exceeded our expectations, als was perfect. Will stay there again for sure.
We had a great camp, the sea and beach are just opposite the campsite. The road there was a surprise. Perhaps a "Geckos Place" sign at the turn off at the bridge will reassure you that you are on the right track.

We never met owners, took over an hour to be informed by one of the staff where our campsite was. Never met the manager/owner. No shade, power, water, dustbin or braai facilities on our stand. Battled to get out the gate. Was very disappointed. In a truly beautiful location though.
Very nice camping pitches. Limited pitches that make it unique and not overcrowded. Louie makes sure that you can't help but have a good time. Short walk to the beach.
Would recommend it to everyone.
It was really as beautiful as the pictures and the host was very friendly and helpful, I would love to go again.
