Our stay was not good at all. We even had to leave earlier than expected. The place was dirty; it really felt like one was staying in the landlord’s backroom. I would like to believe that it was taken over by new owners who are still learning about hospitality. There's a lady there who is not friendly at all, a caretaker of some sort, and that place is not for her. On the other hand, Louis was very helpful and friendly. The WiFi could not reach our room, and the electricity kept tripping. Yeah, it was a bad experience.
False advertising. Our room was dirty and had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. It was also very stuffy. The beds were uncomfortable; they need to be replaced. We couldn't shower in the evening because there was no water. We experienced the same problem again in the morning; there was no water. The manager also refused to make our breakfast, which we paid for. We did not get value for our money. Poor service. Our stay at Geelhout was bad. I will never recommend it to anyone.

The stay was nice. With loadshedding, we packed up our fridge. They moved our stuff to their fridge, and replaced the fridge the same day. I would just suggest replacing the toilet seat with something more sturdy than that flimsy plastic stuff.
I had a problem with the room. There were no windows and it got very stuffy. The shower head is terrible. The room we stayed in is right at the front of the property, which was not private at all. I will commend the staff though. They were very helpful and friendly. The gentleman at reception was wonderful and patient. The ladies who made us breakfast were just amazing and went the extra mile.
Stay was good but the property is very dirty. There are no good or beautiful areas to take pictures. Our room was not in the right area as we were women. We had to open the door while we were undressing or dressing because of the heat and load shedding. Everybody was passing by and looking at us. Gates are not locked during the night and we are in front of a gate that makes us feel unsafe. To tell you the truth, nothing is amazing at Geelhout Guesthouse. All areas are dirty.
Did not enjoy our stay , our room was not up to par ,fridge very dirty, kitchen area not looking good,no aircon, bunk bed very rocky just risky for kids to sleep on, breakfast not that bad but surely you can do better.
Water in bathroom was a problem. There is a fridge in the room, but nothing inside the fridge. I don't mind paying extra for a cold bottle of water or soft drink. Pictures show 2 single beds and advertised as such, but in reality it was a king size bed.
Very uncomfortable to sleep well knowing that your car is completely exposed to theft.
The mirror in room 2 was not clean and there was no shower gel. We only got access to WiFi around 6pm as we were not informed about how the letters should be until we enquired for the second time. We waited for breakfast for a long time. In room 1, there was a spider web just as you enter the room.

Although there is no choice, the breakfast is very tasty and well prepared. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the website's description did not indicate that the economy or pocket pass unit does not have an en-suite bathroom in it, but in the hallway. Bedding needs attention, it's clean, but could probably be replaced due to age. Bela Bela's roads are very bad. I will not go there again.
Few things that I think made my stay uncomfortable: 1. TV remove not working. 2. Aircon making noise throughout the night. 3. Bathroom separate from my room, had to make small trips out of the comfort of my room during the night if I needed to use the shared bathroom. 4. We had no contact person to speak to if one needs help during the night. The remote that was not working and the noisy aircon could only be remoted in the morning. 5. No security wall, my car was exposed to the street passersby, security concern.

The air conditioning in the room was ineffective on a hot day in Bela-Bela! The roof fan's switch didn't work either, the chain to the switch was gone. The reception clerk tried to fix the air conditioning himself and also called in help from an external person, but there was no improvement. The hot water in the shower is a very weak, thin stream. The pressure at the sink and tub is fine, so it looks like a problem with the shower faucet itself. Luckily it was a very hot day so a lukewarm/cold shower was tolerable. The shower's outlet also doesn't have a grate left, just an open hole. There was a large group of people hanging out at the pool together, making it inaccessible to other guests. The impression was that some of them were day visitors for whom the reception clerk made porridge in the kitchen and hung out with them. The visiting area with swimming pool and lapa looks very nice, the reception clerk was willing to try to help and the house is generally tidy. The house is in a nice part of town. It is clear that this could potentially be a very pleasant guest house and the rate was very reasonable on the face of it. Unfortunately, however, our experience was disappointing.

We were very disappointed. Other guests partied until the early hours of the morning and we couldn't close an eye. We tried to get hold of management but no one on premises. We were also told when we got there that there were coffee facilities. When we did want to make it, there was no milk and sugar. When we had to check out at 10:00 in the morning, there was no one on the premises either, we searched for someone. Is very unhappy.

Geelhout workers are very friendly from reception to the cleaner. I thought the price charge was for bed and breakfast, but, no, breakfast is billed separately.

The guesthouse is very homely, we had enough private outdoor space which we loved. We also had the freedom to come and go anytime of the day or night. An added bonus is that it is close to the town and to the Warmbaths Forever Resort so we didn't have to drive far for anything.

For the same price have stayed in 3 to 4 star hotels and guesthouses. It's not value for money at all. Poor breakfast and extremely poor rooms. Only saw owner during meals. The one room's bathroom is down the hall. If you open the bathroom door, the person showering is immediately exposed to the entire hallway. Pathetic. Will never stay there again and strongly disapprove for any person wanting to stay there as a family.

Speed point is needed because this day more people do not carry cash with them. Friendly staff because we were late but they waited for us to get the place. Quiet area, clean and I will visit again. The place is near all attractions, food was very good.
