It's the 2nd time we've had a holiday at Genade Self-catering Units. The kids enjoyed it and we are definitely going back.
Venue was neat, yard well maintained, beach was basically in the backyard, owner did not mind the noise. Candles were readily available for load shedding. Mosquito coils were available, but it's better if you carry a room spray as mosquitoes are a huge problem, causes the kids to be restless. Few minor maintenance issues. Rust bits were coming out of the hot water tap in the bathroom. Shower head could not be changed, almost like mist was coming out of the shower. Anthills formed in all corners. Cobwebs were hanging from the ceiling. Linen didn't have a pleasant smell. Mattresses definitely need to be replaced, completely worn out.
I will go again. Friendly, helpful owners. You have your own piece of beach and rocks to walk on. Swimming beaches are a bit far, but for us it was not a problem.
Bonnie is kind and pleasant and makes the holiday feel like you at home with family and that is so important to us as there is nothing that matters more to us than family. We will be back.

It is ideal for a group of friends who go out to really party until late in the night. At this place you're given the freedom to do so. We were given all the privacy needed. We actually stayed an extra night.

Hosts were lovely, very accommodating. The cottage was lovely very spacious, enough room for everyone. Yard is big, lots of place for the kids to play, nice entertaining area outside our cottage and another one at the pool. A minute away from the beach, awesome access to the beach. Good value for money. This will be our go to place, for all our South Coast Holidays.
The place is probably 'you get what you pay for'. The beds are very old. Single beds are hard, double bed is lumpy. The pillows are flat and hard. Just one extra blanket. We had to ask for other pillows. The bathroom has black mold. And badly needs a cleaning between the tiles. The doors are all a struggle to get open and close. The braai grid is full of holes and you can't really braai on it. Only one soda glass in the cupboard. The aunt is friendly enough, but every day she came to bother us to come and buy her grandchild's 'crafts'. It was very uncomfortable. Then she told us that she didn't have a job and so on. Rêrig didn't fly all the way to the coast to hear sorry stories. The place is very poorly painted. There is a feeling that whoever maintains the place doesn't really care. Paint shell off the walls. Everything is badly rusted. The net curtains were torn. The aunt's old dog is also rather poorly cared for.
We were kindly welcomed by Bonnie who lives on the premises. The location is ideal and the place has everything you need. I will visit again.

Bonnie is amazing!
We and especially our small children thoroughly enjoyed staying just a few steps from the sea. The children were every opportunity in the pool or on the beach behind the house. The owner, Antoon and Bonnie, were very helpful, friendly and made us feel very much at home. Will definitely go back again.
Early morning coffee on the beach watching the sun rise, kids between the rocks trying to catch fish, even did some snorkeling. Because you are on the beach you can rest while the kids have fun without having to drive.
My husband and I with our 2 small boys really enjoyed our stay at Genade 1. Bonnie, Antoon and Adèle made us feel very much at home. Total privacy was a highlight of Genade 1 in which we stayed. The unit is not modern but is clean and has everything you need to live very comfortably. The private beach, quiet beach, with many rock pools to view was literally 100 yards from our personal braai and grass and play area from where you can also sit and view the sea. The jungle gym and swing were a big bonus for our boys. My husband also had a nice catch of fish which we grilled on our last night. DSTV was available in our unit which we also enjoyed. We would visit again anytime! Thanks to our host, hostess and Adèle.

This place is by far one of the most amazing places I have ever been to for a weekend away from home. The best part about it is that you feel so at home, Bonnie the hostess was the best. She was more than welcoming and a very very friendly person. I would highly recommend Genade Selfsorg for anyone looking for a nice peaceful family getaway right on the beach or for an amazing trip away from the hustle of city life. This place is great and 5 minutes or less from a nearby Spar. It makes it great for last minute runarounds. Fabulous. I will definitely be booking Genade again very very soon!

No fish. Everything is close and safe.
The uncle and aunt and Adele, the owners, are beautiful caring people. Our children enjoyed the pool and we could sit and drink our coffee early in the morning on the beach. The beach just across the lawn has lovely rock pools where we could see beautiful marine life. Will definitely stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay and found the unit was clean, neat and well maintained/equipped to meet our needs. We liked it close proximity and direct access to the beach.
Genade 2 was a perfect place to stay with 2 braai areas, a swimming pool, a garden that opens onto the beach. There is a bench to sit on to look at the sea. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Grace is within 1 to 10 km from many places to visit. It's a quiet nice place to sleep and would definitely recommend it to other couples.
