The place is very neat, the apartment has everything you need. Quality furniture and mattresses and a bonus of solar if the power goes out. The place had been a very nice place to stay. The location makes it very ideal to visit the town on foot. The apartment was clean and very tidy, and everything was nicely laid out. It has everything a person can think of when visiting St. Go to Lucia. Outdoor cold shower for the sandy feet, private braai area, secure under shade net parking. The apartment has a stove and has everything you need. Little house in the wilderness. Tannie made us feel very much at home and was a good guide to the area. Anything you want to know about St. Lucia and the parks, just ask her. Thank you very much.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly owner who offered plenty of useful advice on what to do and where to go out for dinner. The accommodation was very comfortable and made for a relaxing reprieve after a day of activities.
We had a wonderful stay at the place. Tanie and Oom were so hospitable and especially understanding of my two young boys. Accessible and easy, with lights and TV even during load shedding. Everything you need for a stay away from home. Very comfortable and exactly like the pictures.
We had a very nice stay. The apartment is equipped with everything one needs and everything is practical. There is a backup electricity system with solar. A servant comes to clean if necessary. I would go back again anytime.

Everything was as advertised. Only downside was that WiFi was not viewable all the time, but is no fault of the owners. The service provider was extremely unpredictable. The times when there was WiFi it worked great to keep the kids busy in the evenings.

Beautiful place to visit with the family. The bunk beds were a feast for the children. The late check-in time also helped a lot, especially if you drive far.

It's self-catering, so remember to bring your own towels, bath products, toilet paper, coffee and tea etc. to pack. Fortunately, we travel with it anyway. We were in St Lucia during the week off season, and literally had the town and restaurants to ourselves!
We would definitely recommend Gerda's Place to anyone. Although the accommodation is at the owners' house, privacy was not a problem at all.

What a pleasant experience! Gerda's place is fully equipped with every conceivable comfort. Luxurious and comfortable, neat and clean, with beautiful mosaics and outdoor decorations at the braai area. Gerda is extremely friendly and hospitable - from calling in advance to help with advice on the road, suggestions for places to eat and things to do, and even notes to warn about load shedding times so we could prepare accordingly. All this while we could still be completely private. We had a great time, and were sad to leave this cute little place behind, after what was far too short a break. Gerda's Place will for sure and without a doubt be our holiday destination again when we visit St. Go to Lucia. Thank you Gerda for allowing us to participate in Gerda's Place.

We had a very nice and private stay at Gerda's Place. A must do is Cape Vidal snorkel, night game drive and boat tour on the river.
A perfect spot if you are up and out for most of the day. Clean, well equipped and good value for money. The only thing I would change would be to put in more comfortable lounge chairs.

Gerda gives personal attention without intruding one's privacy. Apartment is well equipped, clean and neat. Well located, private and safe. Nice to be the only client without the noise of other people. A tip: 2 ply toilet paper makes you feel a bit more spoiled. Rubber mat in front of the shower can be replaced with something woolen. I'm not complaining, just saying.
It needs a queen-size bed with a decent mattress or 2 single beds pushed together. Double bed no longer works for a long time, it's for one person if you weigh over 100 kg. The bed and mattress were really unacceptable. Place was very stuffy/musty inside, maybe left empty for a long time in the coastal climate. On a positive note, it's really good value for money and the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. If the sleeping section is improved we will definitely visit there again. Gerda is a lovely hostess and very concerned about her guests, thank you!

St Lucia is a peaceful, safe, small town. A beautiful spot. A walk down to the estuary and a trip to Cape Vidal is highly recommended.

Hospitality from hostess, Gerda, was excellent. The apartment is serviced every day which made the stay even more pleasant. The apartment is in a quiet area, but within walking distance of good places to eat. A boat trip on the lake to see all the manatees and crocodiles, as well as a visit to Cape Vidal (35 km) is a must. Will definitely visit again.
