Valerie, would like to give you private feedback about your accommodation, and not publicly: As said, the beds are wobbly. Bathroom needs 100% upgrade - sinks, tiles, walls, etc. Unhygienic shower curtain. No mirror at sink for shaving. Your service is very good. Good Wi-Fi. Safe.

The beauty and tranquility of our country's smaller towns. Where the people are so hospitable, go out of their way to help (without expecting anything in return). We had to have a tire replaced. Our host helped without hesitation! Yet such a pity our country's bad roads may keep the tourists out of these smaller towns. However, we had a great time. Can confidently recommend Gewel Gastehuis.
Clean, good communication. No frills.
Gable house offers basic accommodation, is neat and clean. Friendly host and hostess. Luxury bedding. The neighbors' dogs that bark all night detract from a good stay.
It was sad that the decision was made to prevent the festival from taking place in the town. For this reason the accommodation was expensive. Poor location. No communication and interaction except at arrival time. Coffee facilities were pleasant, only little milk available. Otherwise it was nice. Just expensive for what you get. Owners friendly. Would recommend that shower floors are scrubbed and disinfected. Also only had hot water once.
Friendly reception, place is very clean and tidy. Very well located in Ficksburg. The people are very friendly and help with everything. Will definitely visit again.
The bar is in need of a serious upgrade and there needs to be a maintenance person on hand at any given time. Had a problem with the TV in Room 7 and the Creepy Crawly was not working in the pool. A facility of that size cannot rely on one person to do cooking, cleaning, reception and customer care rounds. Somethings will fall through the cracks. Eunice tried her best, but it was just too much for her on her own. This seemed like exploitation of the staff member.
The hostess went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Unit is neat and clean. Will definitely stay here again.
The place is very safe and your vehicle is inside the yard behind a gate. The host is very friendly and made sure everything was neat and comfortable. The room I stayed in had comfortable beds, so I could sleep well. It's a beautiful place they have. One also feels comfortable in the house and not as if one should just stay in the room. Thanks for everything.
This guest house runs like syrup. We want to say a big thank you to Valerie and her husband not only for your wonderful hospitality, but also for the wonderful food and service we received when we stayed with you. Centrally located with safe parking, we showered in room 6, slept peacefully and after a delicious breakfast we were ready to start the cherry festival. Whether it's for work or pleasure, be sure to make your reservation at the Gewel Gastehuis.
The room and bathroom are spacious and well furnished. It met my needs for the night.
They will have to have the adjustments of their gas geyser or the type of geyser checked. The shower is either ice cold or blazing hot. Impossible to get constant temperature. Presumably the model geyser may not be suitable for low water pressure from a borehole. Otherwise pleasant stay.
The guest house's facilities were promising, but our room was disappointing. The bed sagged in the middle, the shower mixer didn't work and the hot water was lukewarm. They put out single-ply toilet paper and the WiFi couldn't connect at all. I accidentally left a pair of shoes there and after two weeks still haven't received a call asking if they can do anything about it. No, stop.
What a great weekend. We were welcomed with open arms and Valerie and Johan were excellent, friendly hosts. The room was spacious, neat and clean. The pool was refreshing on a hot weekend and breakfast simply the best. They could consider adding a fan in the rooms, especially during the worst heat, but nonetheless we'd love to visit again!

We had a lovely stay there. Owners received us very hospitably and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Room was well equipped. Especially the heater and electric blanket helped a lot. Breakfast was also delicious.

The customer service was splendid as the host kept in touch until we arrived at the venue and understood the inclimate weather conditions that delayed our expected time of arrival.
