Giardino @ 194 was par excellence the highlight of our stay in Welkom. As hosts, Riaan and Henry left no stone unturned to make us feel at home and comfortable. Henry's breakfast was tasty and the portions more than enough. The premises are in excellent condition and the garden invites you to relax. The rooms are elegantly and tastefully furnished to meet all needs, down to the mosquito nets to enjoy a restful sleep. Giardino @ 194 is truly an asset to Welkom's business sector. It was lovely to spend the night in such exquisite rooms. We walked into cozy warm rooms with a nice sherry to end the day. The guest house's service is truly excellent. We have been booking here since 2016 and it continues to be a nice experience.

Because we had to travel to Bothaville every day for NAMPO, they packed a breakfast for us to take on the road. We were welcomed home every night to a clean room with fresh towels and all condiments replaced.

We asked for single beds instead of the double bed, this was done before we arrived. We were received kindly and they helped with extra cutlery when we wanted to use the braai facilities. Place is clean and tidy.

The owners of the guest house were so friendly and very helpful. The room was so nice and tidy.
The reception was not friendly or helpful at all and a small dog yapping at our feet was quite frightening. There was only one teabag in the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, but the shower mat was not clean. The shower head needed fixing as it was gushing out water before it reached the spray head. No extras offered like a rusk with the tea in the room. The TV screen is too small to be useful. The grounds are well maintained and the setting is tranquil. We asked for a lunchpack rather than a breakfast, but as we said we may be leaving at ten, it was not ready when we happened to be leaving earlier. Nothing else like fruit or yogurt was offered instead. We were disappointed with the lack of hospitality from start to finish.
There are many rats on the ceiling that keep you up all night. If the owner cannot control the rats, he will lose many customers.

I was sick when I arrived at Giardino. They took care of me by providing food, checking up on me and going the extra mile of getting me medication without me asking for it.
Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Value for money and the air conditioning in the rooms made the warmth of Free State forgotten outside the door. Everything was very clean and breakfast was filling and very tasty.

You can't really see the house and garden from the street, but when you open the gate you are very surprised. The garden with all of the trees and bushes create a wonderful atmosphere of peace and relaxation. The room was good and we enjoyed our night there.

Riaan and Henry are two warm people. The room was nice and we were welcomed with a delicious decanter of sherry. Henry was also willing to make our son a takeaway the Monday morning, as he played indoor cricket in Welkom and slept by the fields. The guesthouse is well located. Thank you.

We were in Welkom for grandma's 90th birthday - Giardino met us halfway so that we could book in earlier because we had 2 babies and a toddler. Their reception with stunning rooms and the swimming pool was a treat for the kids and boys. Breakfast was delicious and everyone' specific requests were catered for. Will definitely stay here overnight again. Will definitely stay here again next time we're in the area. Thanks Riaan and Harry.

The place pleasantly surprised me, Welkom as a village has deteriorated a lot and the suburbs are poor, but the place is safe and located close to the restaurants. One can sit in the garden and relax or work on a laptop. The owners are friendly and very accommodating. For the winter he has nice air conditioning units and warm electric blankets.

We travel a lot for sporting events and we really enjoyed staying in this environment. Everything was peaceful and once inside the premises you had a feeling of being in the country (the garden is beautiful). Riaan and Henry were awesome hosts. Our room was always tidy and clean when we got back after a day at the sporting event. We received clean towels daily (most places replenish towels after three days) and even though we were there only three nights our sheets were washed and replaced on Sunday. We had to get up very early in the morning to attend the sporting event and Henry went out of his way to accommodate us. The breakfasts were also really awesome. We would recommend Giardino a 194 to anyone visiting in Welkom.
