We were very well received. The room was clean and linen and towels fresh. Will stay there again. Our Yorkie was also welcome.

Martie welcomed us with open arms. The rooms were tidy and the en-suite bathrooms were a bonus.
Very nice and peaceful place in a very safe environment and was very friendly with reception.

Enough luggage space and friendly staff. Our electric warm blanket was on as well as the heater in the room. We arrived at the guest house late in the cold, and it was fantastic to walk into a nice clean, tidy and warm place to stay.

The most beautiful place with the friendliest staff, Tannie Sybil is such a nice person she made us feel very much at home, it was actually sad to say goodbye! Was my third time there, will stay there again for sure! All the advice I can give is take a bath mat with you, the bath is a bit slippery!

Travelling in two heavily loaded cars. Needed secure parking. Two couples. Searched and chose this. We were greeted very warmly by Sybil who looked after our every need and the owner popped in to tell us the history of the house. We give the house and our hosts top marks.
Fortunately, the hostess came to meet us: there was no water, which made it really very inconvenient! It was raining and it was cold and after a long drive you at least want to be able to shower. I also booked family room according to my reservation but according to them I booked a room with two single beds.

We had such a great stay in Gibson Place. The rooms are beautiful with excellent quality beds and linen. The breakfast was excellent. After the time, we still had such a wonderful time around the kitchen table - it felt like Grandma's kitchen. I can only imagine how one can hang around that Aga stove in the winter. Only thing that I did notice is that the floors are soapy. This may pose a security risk. Our family appreciates all the effort and if we ever need a place to sleep in Vrede again, Gibson Place is our first choice!

Lack of maintenance. Loo didn't work and cistern leaked noisily all night. Shower curtain torn. Owner/manager left us alone all night as she doesn't live on premises. We had to go into kitchen to make our early morning tea and dishes from previous night still stacked on sink! Not worth the money.
We were treated as family and on arrival were offered tea or coffee, in the large kitchen where we chatted to Maretha. Loved the garden and the house and of course Maretha's hospitality. Would definitely stay over at Gibson Place again.
It is a beautiful house, tastefully furnished, comfortable and spacious. We missed air conditioning (it was unusually hot), but otherwise we had a great stay. It is excellent value for money.
We were warmly received. The hostess served us a delicious breakfast the next morning at a very reasonable price.
From the word go, my reservation was handled quickly and professionally. Maretha is a friendly, professional host; our room was changed to accommodate my friend whom walks with a walker and the breakfast was on time and delicious. We now know where to stay if ever in Vrede again!
