"Disappointing."

Top Tree Cottage - Disappointing. Parking impractical - difficult to drive in and little space. Outside gate of yard can also be opened and closed manually by anyone. Resident family who come and go at any time of the day or night, and also talk loudly when they return home at 01h00 and 04h30, and hang out in front of cottages. Only cooking utensils are 2 saucepans, 1 of which has a lid for a small saucepan and does not fit. No pan or anything else. Only 3 cups for 5 guests. Only cold water at kitchen sink, and not a plug either. There is a plastic bowl in the sink. If you want to fill the kettle, you also have to take the bowl out of the sink first. Then boiler boils for hot water or bathroom tap. Hostess doesn't know how the gas stove works - it was load shedding when we arrived. Sponge for brown and dirty dishes. The outside light by stairs where we have to go up and down seems to have been out of order for some time. The 3 single beds make noise as soon as someone moves. Stain on the 1 bed sheet. The gate by the door has a slider, but not a lock. Didn't see or hear any birds as mentioned on ad. Traffic is hectic. The master bedroom, bathroom and living room, and dining area are beautiful. Had a general feeling of insecurity due to strange residents, which also caused 2 nights of little sleep, after which we had to run Two Oceans.

"Not what was advertised."

This should be advertised as communal rooms and sharing. My towels were musty. The room is outdated. My mattress was worn in. Sheets dirty. No internet even though advertised. One-ply toilet paper. Light fittings with no covers. It's a busy road. The parking is awkward. I mean, I can go on. I do not recommend this accommodation unless you are willing to pay less for a room. The host is set but full of excuses for why things are the way they are.

"Good hostess, but the rest is very disappointing."

The "bird cage" we stayed in is literally as big as a bird cage. Not all the lights worked in the rooms, have a TV remote but no TV? No fridge or enough parking, my van fit by inches. The doors only have "padlock" locks on them, with a flimsy slider. The sliding gate was never closed throughout the weekend. No sign outside in the road to indicate cottages. There was a whole family staying long term, and it was noisy (loud music, loud talking, and people coming and going throughout the night). The traffic at home thinks it's a racetrack, and there's almost never a lull, except when there's load shedding. The reviews are also confusing because I am super disappointed with the poor quality.

"Hospitable, homely and central."

It was lovely to stay there, full marks for hospitality. I travel often and it's nice to stay somewhere that feels like home.

Not a five star room but for the amount I was paying it was everything I expected. No complaints. It was everything I was expecting. No extra charges, friendly host. Will go there again in future if needed.

WiFi was not offered. Cigarette butt at entrance to the upstairs accommodation. Area near the TV hasn't been cleaned in a while. No hot water in the shower on the first morning. Broken tiles in the shower. Bedroom door couldn't close as it stuck on the tiled floor. Stairs to accommodate are very steep making carrying luggage difficult. Parking is difficult. Owner should have advised guest to approach from a different direction. Poor lighting at the gate. Unfortunately I damaged my car because of this.

We had a great stay and Lee made us feel very comfortable.

From start to finish Lee made sure we had everything we needed. We plan to stay there every time we go to the Cape! 11/10!

From the host, to the decor was perfect. The cottage was tastefully furnished and it was clean. We needed a quiet weekend and GLee Cottages was the perfect place. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and will book again in the future.

Ticked all the boxes for my group of five adults. Cottages were spacious and well situated. Close to supermarkets, restaurants, parks, pristine beaches, including access to two railway stations. Secure parking with mountain views. Do yourself a favour!

Received very good service, even if we checked in very late. The parking is only limited, but they make a plan.

We looked for a place near the Two Oceans. For our needs, the accommodation was adequate.

The rooms were very cramped and there is no air conditioning in any of the bedrooms. This time of year it is hot. One of the rooms' mattresses was of poor quality and we were forced to change rooms to try and sleep comfortably. The shower facilities were very poor. Entrance and parking to the guest house is difficult and only parking for two cars, one of which is already the owner's vehicle. Little privacy because it is a regular house with rooms rented out. There is a lot of noise in the area and the house is next to a major bypass with a lot of traffic noise throughout the night. At the weekend there are parties in the area and racing devils test their cars up and down the streets, so sleep is over. Would not want to stay here again, wanted to move out by the second night, but the Cape was fully booked due to the SA Wrestling Tournament and we were forced to see it through to the Tuesday. It costs a lot of money to travel from Mpumalanga to the Cape, so there was no extra accommodation for another 3 days of accommodation that had already been paid for.

I would recommend anytime for smaller groups. The owner made us feel as if we were at our own homes. We didn't come short of anything.

It is a very pleasant place to spend the night and located in a very good neighborhood. So I would advise anyone to visit GLee because it really creates a nice warm atmosphere. It is very safe and peaceful there. 100% for GLee Cottages.
