5 guests' feedbackThe stay was great! The wooden floors are terrible; I have stayed in places with wooden floors before, but this even interrupts your sleep. The kids were upstairs; I felt like even their movements in bed caused sounds on the floors. Perhaps share a picture of Alan Glen too. I would have liked more level ground for the kids to play. They loved riding their bikes and rowing on the dam. The fridge is a bit small for a place that is for 10 people. The dirt road was not as bad as some of the reviews.
We had a really nice stay at Glen Aden, service was amazing and cleanliness was great. Thank you very much!
Glen Aden is close enough to the R540 road which makes it very convenient (except for the potholes on the R540) but deep enough between the hills to give you the most wonderful, peaceful environment. Will definitely go again, but then take my dogs along who couldn't go because we were at a wedding.
Nice unit, but the upstairs floor needs work as it's loose and people downstairs can't sleep with the noise. Other than that great stay. We saved a newborn cow in the dam and then in the mud, so was an adventure.
If you are looking for silence then the place and the road are also very ugly. I can't imagine that you can drive the road without a 4x4 or higher vehicle.

- Switch off lights when not needed.
- Switch off the TV when not watching. The TV is equipped with a motion sensor which will automatically turn off if no movement is detected within 7 minutes, and will switch on again when movement is detected.
- The fridge-freezers and stoves are supplied by gas.
- Hairdryers will drain the batteries very quickly. Please use only when necessary, and not more than 1 hairdryer to be used at the same time.
- No electric heaters and electric blankets or other electrical appliances permitted.
- Hot water is supplied by gas geysers. Due to water pressure, please don’t run the bath and shower at the same time.
- The standby generator will start automatically when needed.
