The geyser temperature regulation was slightly challenging with trying to get the hot water and cold water temperatures balanced, but other than that, it is a very beautiful place. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming.
The Farm was absolutely beautiful. The room was cozy, clean and super comfortable. Our hosts were wonderful and super helpful. Can't wait to come back!
Had a lovely stay at Glen Avon Farm, a stunning and peaceful farm with beautiful gardens. The host was incredibly accommodating and went out of her way to make sure our stay was pleasant. Look forward to returning again to enjoy all the farm has to offer.
I wish I had longer than 3 nights. Superb accommodation, with great views. There's wonderful history around the farm and it's lovely to see the recently restored watermill working again. Nice walks around the farm seeing everything from the old buildings to animals and even the cemetery and vault. I really enjoyed my stay.
It's the eighth generation that owns this family farm. Since 1840s.
Perfect place to sleep. The only problem is that you need more than one day because there is so much to do and see.
The host and wife, Greg and Fiona, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Here you can really get away from the city's hustle and bustle and experience tranquility.
Loads to do, such as walks, cycling, swimming in dams and exploring the farm. Really beautiful and historic farm.

The house is very well furnished. Truly a place to relax and forget about city life. Wish we could stay longer.

Glen Avon is an ideal destination in every way. The hostess (Alison) bent over backwards to be helpful. The Cottage is very nicely laid out to provide modern facilities in an old building. The WiFi was a bonus, as cell phone reception is spotty.
Considering that this is a working farm, a can of fly poison has been provided, but still the flies are not under control. The water supply to the second shower is not sustainable.

Surrounded by farm animals, great hospitality and friendly hosts, what else do you want. We milked cows, saw the birth of a baby sheep had nice walking trails, was mesmerising. Will recommend for travelers on way to Addo to take a break in their journey here.
We had a lovely time and our only regret was not having more time to spend. The food was delicious, the room was lovely and lots to do - or not.
We visited there as a family and celebrated an 80th birthday. We had a good time and slept warm. Just expected houses to be serviced next morning and it didn't happen - otherwise we had a nice stay.
The farm has so much to see and appreciate. It is such a historic farm with many interesting things to see. We will definitely visit Glen Avon again, but this time stay a minimum of 2 nights so that there is time to see and do everything. The people are very pleasant and helpful. It was just a pleasure to be there.
The ideal environment to have a relaxed time topped up with great outdoor activities.
On our arrival we were received by the Brown family and made welcome immediately. We were lucky to have the "Hart Lodge" as our homestead. This is a lovely raw brick building with a huge amount of history, as is the case for the whole concern at Glen Avon. There is lot to do and for anyone that is looking for a home from home stay WITH huge opportunities to move around on a lovely farm, this be it. I will return to investigate this gem again and will stay for a minimum of three nights just to do the farm and Somerset East justice for what it can give. I hope you guys had good rains!
