Each of the Lapa Cottages is equipped with air-conditioning, a kitchenette with tea- and coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge, a fireplace and free Wi-Fi.
The self-catering cottage has 2 bedrooms, each with 2 three-quarter beds and their own private bathrooms. The cottage has a small kitchen that is well-equipped for self-catering, a lounge area, an outdoor braai area and its own plunge pool.
A short lantern-lit trail from the individual Lapa Cottages leads to the communal seating, bar and dining areas where food is served along with roaring log fires and a selection of fine South African wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks on an individual charge basis. A boma allows for stargazing and storytelling and the built-in braai creates an atmosphere for communal gatherings where much cooking advice is shared. Internet, books, music and games are available. Guests have use of a lovely salt-water infinity pool with sun loungers.
For those with 4x4s who wish to traverse the river crossing themselves to the accommodation, covered carports are conveniently located. All other guests arrive by one of the Reserve’s game viewers.

Accommodating and friendly team.
Kat put in so much effort. We were wonderfully welcomed extra effort was made and a stunning unit clean and stocked with soft drinks and food. Will stop there every time we are in trouble.
Kat and team were fantastic, from advance communication all the way through to reception and saying goodbye. Their kindness and helpfulness in making our visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible was remarkable! A gem of a place to build beautiful memories and relax. We really enjoyed it and will return for sure.
It was 48 km out of town on a very bad dirt road, which cost us two tires. The accommodation was for my daughter and her husband during school rugby trials.
Not at all what it was advertised for. All amenities closed. Swimming pool was dirty. None of the activities that was advertised were available. Restaurant was not available.
Friendly reception, accommodation 5 star, dinner was an experience with all the staff making an effort. Breakfast facility another 5 star. Hostess outdid herself with kindness and concern.
This is a fantastic lodge in the Karoo with excellent accommodation and service of the highest quality. The team's personal attention, extra effort and friendliness ensure an unforgettable time.
We stayed in the beautiful Pepper tree cottage! It's pet friendly and we can say that both man and dog enjoyed the adventure. The cottage has more than just the essentials, with everything, beautifully and stylishly laid out. The cottage is also fenced which was very convenient with our 4-foot children. Will be back for sure!
