The place is very cute, nice space, very neat. The fireplace was a huge bonus. The bathroom and shower were heavenly, and we slept comfortably. There was an electric blanket on the bed. The place is close to the village, so everything was nice and close. For sure 5 star and 10 out of 10 for convenience.

Stay was very pleasant. Clean and tidy. However, indoor asbestos heater was out of order. Road signs were poor. Suggest that a clear signpost be put up from Main Road to the guest house.
Surprisingly spacious and well-equipped, quiet, however it was a Sunday.
The Cottage is tastefully furnished and is in an area close to the town centre. The location is very private and offers the ideal getaway opportunity. Sophia and Marius, the owners, are very friendly and interested and make it just nice to be able to stay there.
After a long day's walk, the return to the place was a genuine experience. We were there in the summer, so the location of the place is cool. The place is extremely neat and clean and everything we could think of was there. It was very nice that there was even a carton of milk and some biscuits. Our hostess was approachable, friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the place, especially if you just want a neat, safe place to sleep. My only other comment would be that the gates where our car was were not closed, but honestly I didn't find it necessary to ask the hostess about it because the area was so peaceful and quiet. It is hidden away from the main road. Either way, more security for the car would be welcome.
Marius and Sophia were very hospitable and made us feel very much at home. Their helpfulness was greatly appreciated and they deserve to be in the hospitality industry. They welcomed us personally and saw us off. The nice big shower and fireplace were a big treat. Their bubbly personalities made us feel very welcome. Thanks for the nice chats.
A great breakaway from the city in a cottage with everything that you need. Just a few blocks away from the square with very friendly hosts.
Not only is it a wonderful town to visit, but the hospitality and receptiveness of Sophia and her husband is so welcoming in busy lives. The guest house met our needs and so much more! Highly recommendable!

There were two niggles we picked up with the owner, but can recommend to anyone. Was really much more than we expected because the price gives you more than is normally the case. Recommend for any two people to go and wind down just from the town center crowd and noises.

I can recommend God's Gift Self-catering Cottage to anyone with an open heart. We experienced both Sophia and her husband as warm people-people and see them as the ideal hosts. What we saw advertised on the website is exactly what we got. Very clean, spacious, well equipped, safe and private, a bit hidden from the busy harwar. The 3 dogs are also people dogs and very friendly and loving. The place is very well located and it was a bonus to be able to easily walk to the center of Clarens to experience the vibe. No struggle for parking in the sun, because the car is safely parked at home under the massive shade tree. Probably barely a 10 minute leisurely walk into the town centre. We won't even bother to try one of the other places in the future, because we find God's Gift 100% ideal for a nice getaway.
Sophia was very accommodating with check-in time and date change. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean and the kitchen has all the necessary equipment. The location is very peaceful, God's Gift is not in the town itself, but a comfortable walking distance from everything, such as the town square. There is a beautiful walking path and Parkrun route along the river which is easily accessible with a stunning view of the mountains that surround the village.

We visited Clarens this weekend for a weekend getaway. The accommodation was very nice and comfortable with everything you could need and more. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished and we had a lovely and central stay. The owners were extremely friendly and hospitable and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
Quirky and quiet place just outside the hustle and bustle of the town within walking distance of all the activities and pubs. My kind of place. Super landlord and his wife. This was a very good getaway place for us and we will be back. Exceptional value for money.

The stay was really nice, neat and beautiful. I would only suggest that a net be placed over the roof also to prevent the acres from falling on the corrugated iron roof.

What a treat to discover this place! Warm and friendly host and wife who took care of all our needs. Spacious accommodation with everything a self-catering unit needs. Place is practically furnished with a fantastic shower and the braai under the tree was heavenly. Close enough to the square to walk, but far enough for you to relax peacefully.
We were warmly welcomed. The apartment was very neat and clean and well equipped. As we are animal lovers we enjoyed the dogs a lot. Lovely shade for car and for us to relax. We will go again.
