I would recommend a mini fridge. The rooms are a bit small for the price.
Geyser wasn't working so we downgraded to another room with no sea view. The room above us had wooden floors and the guests kept pacing the room meaning we only got to sleep at 3am. Wasn't the best stay.

Expected Gonana Guesthouse to be fantastic, but it was much more. We were a group of 10. The reception from Thandi was very professional with humanity. She immediately sorted us into rooms and informed us where our breakfast was going to be helpful. The rooms are wow. The upper part with sitting area and large table with sea view is awesome. I recommend Gonana Guesthouse to anyone looking for only the best accommodation in Paternoster.

I had to leave at 6 o'clock. The owner got up early and baked a loaf of bread to put in my sandwiches. Never served such a good server. My dogs were welcome and safe.

Gonana is die beste plek om te bly in Paternoster! Die gasvryheid van Joy en Thandi was uit die boonste rakke. Joy was so gaaf om vir ons plek te bespreek by die Noisy Oyster vir aandete, beste kos! Joy hulle was so oulik om ons Yorkie, Boesman, te akkommodeer met 'n bedjie, en hondebeskuitjies in ons kamer. En julle honesty bar laat 'n mens voel of jy in Namibië is. Daar is soveel wat ek wil sê van Gonana, hulle akkommodeer elke ding waaraan jy kan dink! Ek en my man reis baie gereeld en julle is definitief ons nuwe gunsteling! Love julle!

Excellent location, clean, tidy and very friendly staff. As mentioned in a previous reference, the towels are no longer usable and must be replaced. The fact that there is no handrail at the stairs is also of concern.
Only criticism is they should get better bath towels, give them a 1 out of 5 for that, then because our room was in the courtyard the blinds are not sufficient, you can see through, even more so in the evening when there is a light is on and you are in the shower. Unfortunately there is no alternative for lighting during load shedding other than solar panels on their roof.

Warm reception and hospitality. Clean rooms and most amenities included, except a microwave in the guesthouse's kitchen, should you had wished to warm up a takeaway to enjoy on the balcony, but all the more reason to try out many of Paternoster's lovely restaurants. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the beautiful beach view from the balcony. Gonana Guesthouse will see us again soon!
The reception was friendly and helpful at all times. The guest house is on the beach which makes it nice to go for a walk. We were also within walking distance of the town which makes the accommodation a good central point. We will visit Gonana again.
Unfortunately, Gonana is not child-friendly. Pool does not have a gate or net and the stairs to the living area are very narrow and high. There are also no arrangements to hold on to climb the stairs. Other than that, Thandi is fantastically friendly.
