It is not the first time that my family has stayed at Goodey's Guesthouse. It was, however, my first. I can see why they didn't hesitate to book there again. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and kind to us.
We slept comfortably, everything was clean and tidy. Friendly service. However, one big minus was that there were other guests who were talking loudly throughout the night, we hardly got any sleep! Also, room 8's description was incorrect. According to description there are 2 single beds in the room but on the photos there is a double bed. This causes unnecessary confusion and inquiries to the agent.

Website is old. Sauna and heated pool featured on website - heated pool is outside pool, heated by the sun?. Sauna not working!
The place was dusty (the mat and curtains). One of my friends had to go see the doctor because of sinus issues due to the dust. The reception was bad when we arrived; we had to leave and book somewhere else the following day. They refused to refund me for the other day.

The guest house is located in a quiet, tree-rich area of Colbyn. Safe, luxurious and convenient. The only negative comment is that such a lovely guest house provides Ricoffy sachets in the rooms, and not a better quality coffee. First prize would be a "plunger" in the room, yup, I've come across that before.

I booked room 7 - for two reasons - it's private and has its own entrance. I got room 9, and the air conditioner didn't work. John came to check and then offered me a fan, which was fine. Otherwise neat and nice stay except for the 2 "hiccups". One books a specific room for a reason.
Wish we could have stayed longer, because we slept great, ate breakfast and the owners and staff are very friendly!

The location is very central, yet it is quiet and surrounded by beautiful parks. The house and rooms are well-equipped with good quality furniture and facilities.
