Not good at all. First-night aircon leak, can't lock toilet from inside. No shower room. Used bathtub and no curtains on the bathtub.
We had a wonderful stay. The facilities are enough for one overnight stay. Would have liked to see a shower door rather than a shower curtain. Other than that, everything was perfect. The hostess was also very friendly and helpful.
Michelle goes out of her way to please her guests. Quiet and tidy environment. Will definitely recommend. We only used for overnight, but nice place to escape from the city life.

Lovely farm atmosphere and surroundings and very good location in terms of the N3 and Winterton. Some people may complain about the condition of the dirt road after all the rain, but for us it was no problem. The unit was comfortable, clean and tidy with beautiful views. Beds and bedding great! Could pay a little more attention to small things: The hand washing soap was empty and there was only plain tea and some brown sugar in the unit; no coffee or milk/cremora. There were also no dishcloths in the kitchenette. Would also shower instead of preferred bath. Good value for money.

Good value for money with lovely views. Well equipped with the basics and very comfortable. Animal friendly which was a big plus, and our two medium sized doggies loved the farm. Close to town for any groceries needed. My 12 year old daughter loved the interaction with the farm animals. Hubby and I loved the peace and quiet. Great for bird watching. Would definitely go back!

Not as expected and uncomfortable. Room number 2 seems larger however the sliding door does not close properly. The space by the stove in the kitchen is only for one person. The stove is slow to heat up. The toilet is loose from the floor. Chairs are not comfortable.
Brilliant service, extraordinary location, peaceful, tranquil and serene. This venue gave me a deeper appreciation for the beauty that South Africa holds. The owners are gems of people. Michelle is thorough, thoughtful, welcoming and adds a personalised touch to make you feel so important. I will definitely be returning.

The place is nice, out of town, it was well relaxed. The accommodation was very clean and well kept.
The sleepover made the journey much shorter. Restful. Would just love to have a shower instead of a bath.
Chalets are very comfortable but could do with some extra storage space like coat hangers or a cupboard to store clothing items. A table for serving meals would be nice. I'm sure these will be added on as they are currently in the process of upgrading the units as owners have changed. All in all happy with the location and beautiful natural surroundings. We enjoyed 2 lovely nights at Goodhope Country Escape. We were warmly received. The unit was clean, tidy and well appointed for an overnight stop. The surroundings are beautiful and the location is very good. Nicely close to the N3 as well as Winterton and Central Drakensberg. We would definitely recommend Goodhope Country Escape.
We only stayed over for one night to break up the journey down to the sea. Michelle gave us a very warm welcome and we really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend it.

We used Goodhope Country Escape as a stopover to go to the coast. My family really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend and use it again. Large fridge came in very handy to keep meat frozen for the long haul.

Goodhope Country Escape is the perfect overnight destination. Michelle is an excellent hostess and the units are tidy and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the tranquility of the farm.
We had a great time and for the boys it was wonderful to be able to kick their rugby ball around on such a large, open lawn. We slept so well that we left much later than we had initially planned.
The dirt road from Winterton was in poor condition after good rain and is not sedan friendly. The tranquility and comfort of the unit makes up for the inconvenience of the road. Feel free to do so.
Michelle is very friendly and helpful. She went to show the calf to my kids. Very peaceful place, but not much to do if you want to stay long.

Visit was nice and quiet and relaxed. Just suggest a light or something for load shedding and to fit a steel strainer in the bottom of the braai for spillage of coals.
The link on the confirmation email was not correct and took us to the wrong location that looked like a building site about 1 km before the correct road. When we googled the guest house we got to the correct place. The unit is for 4 guests, yet only 2 chairs are available and there is no table to dine at on the inside.
Will definitely stay there again. Good value for money.

Was very nice to spend the night on the way to the sea where we could experience and experience the tranquility of nature.
Michelle is a wonderful hostess. No aspect is trouble for her. The unit overlooks a lovely pond and one is overwhelmed with tranquility.
Ons was baie vriendelik ontvang. Pragtige omgewing, baie rustig en ons kon werklik ontspan. Daar was onmiddellik aandag gegee toe ons noem dat die stort se uitlaat stadig loop. Hulle gaan voorwaar uit hul pad om jou gemaklik en tevrede te hou. Ons plekkie was elke dag skoongemaak en hout voorsien vir braai. Netjiese terrein. Regtig pragtig.

We were received with open arms. There was fresh milk with thick cream left in the fridge for us by Ina. Nature is breathtaking there. The silence lovely. My little girl enjoyed the dogs terribly, us too. She could crawl around and play. We will definitely go there again, but this time for longer. Thanks so much, Ina.
After a busy seaside holiday we spent a night at Goodhope Country Escape. And are we sorry we didn't stay there for a few more days. It was an absolute rest for your soul night. Everything is nice and clean. Children had a great time running around and playing with the dogs. I would definitely recommend recharging your battery.
Now that my daughter is doing her com-serve year in the area, we will need to come and visit the area more often. Goodhope Country Escape is excellent value for money, very clean with very accommodating hosts. Will definitely come back.

Beautiful place, we had a great stay and slept warm.
The hosts were helpful with directions and made an effort to meet us in person. The flats are well maintained. We were given an option of generator power for the periods of load shedding. The owners' dogs are very friendly. Could be a burden to visitors who are not fond of dogs.
This was a lovely peaceful spot where one could chill on the stoep and enjoy the surroundings. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Would recommend a fan in the adjacent bedroom as it was very hot from afternoon sun. Our grandson loved playing with the dogs, fishing in the dam and messing around in the little stream.
Goodhope Country Escape's service was excellent. The units are well equipped and very neat, are cleaned every day and they gave us new towels. The peaceful farm atmosphere was the ideal getaway and the children could play and run around as they pleased. The bush is definitely something to see, almost something from a fairy tale. I'll recommend Goodhope Country Escape anytime.
Breathtakingly beautiful with a warm welcoming!
The guest house is conveniently close to the N3. The unit is clean and tidy. Well equipped with everything a guest needs. Friendly service from the owner. She was accommodating and accommodated our family of 6 in her 5 bed unit. The campfire is a bonus and the view of the farm pond creates a peaceful atmosphere after the long drive. Guests must love animals, the farm dogs are very much at home at the units (friendly and not dangerous).
Booked out all the rooms for a reunion! Amazing place to stay, basic but with the necessary facilities to make you feel away from home but not left desolate. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would give a 10/10.

Unit very neat and clean. Friendly welcome by Ina. Dogs also very cute and happy to see us. Children enjoyed walking with them. Unfortunately, the flies made the stay extremely difficult. Never encountered so many flies in one place. We had to sit inside just to get away from them! Will definitely suggest that measures for the management of the flies be put in place immediately. Safety of area also not sure of. Fencing around the plot/farm is basic and not difficult to enter. Did not feel safe during the evening.
Due to a car problem, we had to start traveling a day later. Ina was willing to move our reservation a day. Furthermore, Meder gave us two units for the price of one. We had a beautiful view over a dam and the farm is close to Winterton, Colenso and the N3 to Durban. The units are neat, clean and modernly equipped. The beds are great. Truly an ideal place to stay, which I will definitely use again.
We had an amazing stay at Goodhope Country Escape. Great location and close enough to Durban to head up on a Friday after work. Beautiful self-catering units, braai facilities and clean linen. If late nights and chatting to mates around a fire and under the stars is your thing, then Goodhope Country Escape is a must. PS Take a drive to sentinel car park and do that chain ladder hike - best views ever.

Amazing hospitality, was even willing to help us out with storage for one of our vehicles while we went hiking in the mountains for 3 days. Cottages are extremely neat with everything you will need.

Goodhope Country Escape offers a tranquil atmosphere. The facilities are clean, simple and well equipped. The environment is really peaceful and beautiful. The poplar forest just adds to the experience since you can wander through the forest and stumble upon the well, which is something different. Almost like a fairy tale. The dam situated almost 30 m from the accommodation gives one the chance to fish. The fire pit is also well situated and there is always wood for a nice fire at night. The accommodation is a oblong building divided into 3 accommodation units with a long veranda connecting the three units (if you're not shy, this won't be a problem, but if you are, some partitions could be a good idea). If you're on a budget Goodhope Country Escape is the best value for money in the area.
Great stay at night. Good braai facilities. Some people may find the proximity of other guests in the adjacent rooms cumbersome.
The place is really nice, but not enough space for 4 adults.
